IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY WHILE DRIVING
If the engine stalls at a
crossroad or crossing
• If the engine stalls at a crossroad orcrossing, set the shift lever in the N
(Neutral) position and then push the vehicle to a safe place.
If you have a flat tire while
driving
1. Take your foot off the accelerator pedal and let the vehicle slow down
while driving straight ahead. Do not
apply the brakes immediately or
attempt to pull off the road as this
may cause a loss of control. When
the vehicle has slowed down to
such a speed that it is safe to do so, brake carefully and pull off the
road. Drive off the road as far as
possible and park on a firm level
ground. If you are on a divided
highway, do not park in the median
area between the two traffic lanes.
2. When the vehicle is stopped, turn on your emergency hazard flash‐
ers, set the parking brake and put
the transaxle in P. 3. Have all passengers get out of the
vehicle. Be sure they all get out onthe side of the vehicle that is away
from traffic.
4. When changing a flat tire, follow the instruction provided in L
Please note that the TPMS is not a
substitute for proper tire maintenance, and it is the driver’s responsibility to
maintain correct tire pressure, even if
under-inflation has not reached the level to trigger illumination of the TPMS
low tire pressure telltale.
Your vehicle has also been equipped
with a TPMS malfunction indicator to indicate when the system is not oper‐
ating properly. The TPMS malfunction
indicator is combined with the low tire pressure telltale. When the system de‐
tects a malfunction, the telltale will
flash for approximately 1 minute and then remain continuously illuminated.
This sequence will continue upon sub‐
sequent vehicle start-ups as long as the malfunction exists. When the TPMS
malfunction indicator remains illumina‐
ted after blinking for approximately 1 minute, the system may not be able to
detect or signal low tire pressure as in‐
tended. TPMS malfunctions may occur for a va‐
riety of reasons, including the installa‐
tion of replacement or alternate tires
or wheels on the vehicle that prevent the TPMS from functioning properly.
Always check the TPMS malfunction
telltale after replacing one or more tires or wheels on your vehicle to en‐
sure that the replacement or alternate
tires and wheels allow the TPMS to continue to function properly.
NOTICE
If any of the below happens, we rec‐
ommend that the system be
checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
1.The low tire pressure telltale/
TPMS malfunction indicator do
not illuminate for 3 seconds
when the ignition switch is
turned to the ON position or en‐
gine is running.
2.The TPMS malfunction indicator
remains illuminated after blink‐
ing for approximately 1 minute.
3.The Low tire pressure position
telltale remains illuminated.

When the tire pressure monitoring sys‐
tem warning indicators are illuminated and warning massage displayed on the
cluster LCD display, one or more of
your tires is significantly under-infla‐ ted. The low tire pressure position tell‐
tale light will indicate which tire is sig‐
nificantly under-inflated by illuminating the corresponding position light.
If either telltale illuminates, immediate‐
ly reduce your speed, avoid hard cor‐
nering and anticipate increased stop‐ ping distances. You should stop and
check your tires as soon as possible. In‐
flate the tires to the proper pressure as
indicated on the vehicle’s placard or tire inflation pressure label located on the
driver’s side center pillar outer panel. If
you cannot reach a service station or if the tire cannot hold the newly added
air, replace the low pressure tire with a
spare tire.
If you drive the vehicle for about 10 mi‐ nutes at speeds above 25 km/h after
replacing the low pressure tire with the
spare tire, one of the following will hap‐ pen: • The TPMS malfunction indicator may
blink for approximately 1 minute and
then remain continuously illuminated
because the TPMS sensor is not
mounted on the spare wheel. (changed tire equipped with a sensor
not in the vehicle)
• The TPMS malfunction indicator will remain continuously illuminated while
driving because the TPMS sensor is
not mounted on the spare wheel. (changed tire equipped with a sensor
in the vehicle)
CAUTION
In winter or cold weather, the lowtire pressure telltale may illuminateif the tire pressure was adjusted tothe recommended tire inflation pres‐sure in warm weather. It does notmean your TPMS is malfunctioningbecause the decreased temperatureleads to a lowering of tire pressure. When you drive your vehicle from awarm area to a cold area or from acold area to a warm area, or theoutside temperature is higher orlower, you should check the tire in‐flation pressure and adjust the tires

to the recommended tire inflationpressure.
WARNING
nLow pressure damage
Significantly low tire pressure makesthe vehicle unstable and can contrib‐ute to loss of vehicle control and in‐creased braking distances.Continued driving on low pressuretires can cause the tires to overheatand fail.
TPMS (Tire Pressure
Monitoring System)
malfunction indicator
The TPMS malfunction indi‐ cator will illuminate after it blinks for
approximately one minute when there is a problem with the Tire Pressure
Monitoring System.
We recommend that the system be
checked by an authorized Kia dealer to determine the cause of the problem.

What to do in an emergency
NOTICE
If there is a malfunction with the
TPMS, the low tire pressure position
telltale will not be displayed even
though the vehicle has an under-in‐
flated tire.
CAUTION
•The TPMS malfunction indicatormay blink for approximately 1 mi‐nute and then remain continuouslyilluminated if the vehicle is movingaround electric power supply ca‐bles or radio transmitters such asat police stations, government andpublic offices, broadcasting sta‐tions, military installations, air‐ports, or transmitting towers, etc. This can interfere with normal op‐eration of the Tire Pressure Moni‐toring System (TPMS).

•The TPMS malfunction indicatormay blink for approximately 1 mi‐nute and then remain continuouslyilluminated if snow chains are usedor some separate electronic devi‐ces such as notebook computer, mobile charger, remote starter ornavigation etc., are used in the ve‐hicle. This can interfere with normal op‐eration of the Tire Pressure Moni‐toring System (TPMS).
Changing a tire with TPMS
If you have a flat tire, the low Tire
Pressure and Position telltales will come on. We recommend that the sys‐
tem be checked by an authorized Kia
dealer.
CAUTION
We recommend that you use thesealant approved by Kia.The sealant on the tire pressuresensor and wheel shall be eliminatedwhen you replace the tire with a newone.
Each wheel is equipped with a tire pres‐
sure sensor mounted inside the tire be‐ hind the valve stem. You must use
TPMS specific wheels. It is recommen‐
ded that you have your tires serviced by an authorized Kia dealer.
If you drive the vehicle for about 10 mi‐
nutes at speeds above 25 km/h after
replacing the low pressure tire with the spare tire, one of the following will hap‐
pen: • The TPMS malfunction indicator may blink for approximately 1 minute and
then remain continuously illuminated because the TPMS sensor is not
mounted on the spare wheel.
(changed tire equipped with a sensor
not in the vehicle)
• The TPMS malfunction indicator will remain continuously illuminated whiledriving because the TPMS sensor is
not mounted on the spare wheel.

What to do in an emergency
8-12
You may not be able to identify a low
tire by simply looking at it. Always use a good quality tire pressure gauge to
measure the tire's inflation pressure.
Please note that a tire that is hot (from being driven) will have a higher pres‐
sure measurement than a tire that is
cold (from sitting stationary for at least 3 hours and driven less than
1.6 km (1 mile) during that 3 hour peri‐
od).
Allow the tire to cool before measuring the inflation pressure. Always be sure
the tire is cold before inflating to the
recommended pressure.
A cold tire means the vehicle has been sitting for 3 hours and driven for less
than 1.6 km (1 mile) in that 3 hour peri‐od.
CAUTION
We recommend that you use thesealant approved by Kia if your vehi‐cle is equipped with a Tire PressureMonitoring System. The liquid seal‐ant can damage the tire pressuresensors.
WARNING
nTPMS
•The TPMS cannot alert you to se‐vere and sudden tire damagecaused by external factors such asnails or road debris.
•If you feel any vehicle instability, immediately take your foot off theaccelerator, apply the brakes grad‐ually and with light force, andslowly move to a safe position offthe road.
WARNING
nProtecting TPMS
Tampering with, modifying, or disa‐bling the Tire Pressure MonitoringSystem (TPMS) components may in‐terfere with the system's ability towarn the driver of low tire pressureconditions and/or TPMS malfunc‐tions. Tampering with, modifying, ordisabling the Tire Pressure Monitor‐ing System (TPMS) components mayvoid the warranty for that portion ofthe vehicle.
WARNING
nFor EUROPE

The Tire Mobility Kit is a temporary fix to the tire and we recommend that the
tire is inspected by an authorized Kia
dealer as soon as possible.
CAUTION
nOne sealant for one tire
(Continued)
(Continued)
When two or more tires are flat, donot use the tire mobility kit becausethe supported one sealant of TireMobility Kit is only used for one flattire.
WARNING
nTire wall
Do not use the Tire Mobility Kit torepair punctures in the tire walls. This can result in an accident due totire failure.
WARNING
nTemporary fix
Have your tire repaired as soon aspossible. The tire may lose air pres‐sure at any time after inflating withthe Tire Mobility Kit.
Introduction
With the Tire Mobility Kit (TMK) you
stay mobile even after experiencing a tire puncture.
The system of compressor and sealing
compound effectively and comfortably
seals most punctures in a passenger car tire caused by nails or similar ob‐
jects and reinflates the tire.
After you ensured that the tire is prop‐
erly sealed you can drive cautiously on
the tire (up to 200 km (120 miles)) at a
max. speed of 80 km/h (50 mph) in or‐
der to reach a vehicle or tire dealer to have the tire replaced.
