Forward and backward
Push the control switch forward or
backward to move the seat to the
desired position. Release the switch
once the seat reaches the desired
position.
Seatback angle
Push the control switch forward or
backward to move the seatback to
the desired angle. Release the
switch once the seat reaches the
desired position.
CAUTION
The power seat is driven by anelectric motor. Stop operatingonce the adjustment is com-pleted. Excessive operationmay damage the electricalequipment.
When in operation, the power seat consumes a largeamount of electrical power. Toprevent unnecessary chargingsystem drain, don’t adjust thepower seat longer than neces-sary while the engine is notrunning.
Do not operate two or more power seat control switches atthe same time. Doing so mayresult in power seat motor orelectrical component malfunc-tion.

• If the Electric Power SteeringSystem does not operate normally,
the warning light will illuminate on
the instrument cluster. The steer-
ing wheel may become difficult to
control or operate abnormally.
Take your vehicle to an authorized
Kia dealer and have the vehicle
checked as soon as possible.
• When you operate the steering wheel in low temperature, abnor-
mal noise may occur. If tempera-
ture rises, the noise will likely dis-
appear. This is a normal condition.
• When the charging system warn- ing light comes on due to the low
voltage (When the alternator or
battery) does not operate normal-
ly or it malfunctions), the steering
wheel may require increased
steering effort.Tilt and telescopic steering
Tilt and telescopic steering allows
you to adjust the steering wheel
before you drive. You can also raise it
to give your legs more room when
you exit and enter the vehicle.
The steering wheel should be posi-
tioned so that it is comfortable for
you to drive, while permitting you to
see the instrument panel warning
lights and gauges. To change the steering wheel angle,
pull down the lock-release lever (1),
adjust the steering wheel to the
desired angle (2) and height (3, if
equipped) then pull up the lock-
release lever to lock the steering
wheel in place. Be sure to adjust the
steering wheel to the desired posi-
tion before driving.
WARNING
Never adjust the angle of the
steering wheel while driving.
You may lose steering control
and cause severe personal
injury, death or accidents.
After adjusting, push the steering wheel both up and
down to be certain it is locked
in position.

Charging SystemWarning Light
This warning light illuminates:
Once you set the ignition switch or Engine Start/Stop Button to the ON
position.
- It remains on until the engine isstarted.
When there is a malfunction with either the alternator or electrical
charging system. If there is a malfunction with either
the alternator or electrical charging
system:
1. Drive carefully to the nearest safe
location and stop your vehicle.
2. Turn the engine off and check the alternator drive belt for looseness
or breakage.
If the belt is adjusted properly,
there may be a problem in the
electrical charging system.
In this case, have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized Kia
dealer as soon as possible.
CAUTION - Gasoline
Engine
If the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates, poten-tial catalytic converter damageis possible which could result inloss of engine power.
In this case, have your vehicleinspected by an authorized Kiadealer as soon as possible.

❈ If the portable lamp does not turn
on, it means the portable lamp
needs to be charged. Insert the
lamp holder and then charge it
again. The charge mode will be
activated if the ignition switch (or
engine start/stop button) is on
position or engine is running.Battery replacement
When replacement is necessary, use
the following procedure.
1. Insert a slim tool into the slot and
gently try open the battery cover.
2. Replace the batteries with new rechargeable batteries (AAA size).
When replacing the batteries,
make sure the position of batteries.
3. Close the cover carefully.
CAUTION
1. Remove the batteries when not in use for a long time.
2. Use the specified battery. 3. You can use the regular bat- teries (Disposable batteries)but do not use the Non-rechargeable battery incharge mode. It may damagethe vehicle.
4. Do not place the lamp with water or moist places and liq-uid compounds. These cancause internal leakage of abattery.

recognize the USB device. In that
case, connect the USB device
directly to the multimedia terminal
of the vehicle.
If the USB device is divided by log- ical drives, only the music files on

nized by car audio.
Devices such as MP3 Player/ Cellular phone/Digital camera can
be unrecognizable by standard
USB I/F can be unrecognizable.
Charging through the USB may not be supported in some mobile
devices.
USB HDD or USB types liable to connection failures due to vehicle

BATTERY
For best battery service
Keep the battery securely mount-ed.
Keep the battery top clean and dry.
Keep the terminals and connec- tions clean, tight, and coated with
petroleum jelly or terminal grease.
Rinse any spilled electrolyte from the battery immediately with a
solution of water and baking soda.
If the vehicle is not going to be used for an extended time, discon-
nect the battery cables.
