Power windows
The ignition switch must be in the ON
position for power windows to oper-
ate.
Each door has a power window
switch that controls the door's win-
dow. The driver has a power window
lock button which can block the oper-
ation of passenger windows. The
power windows can be operated for
approximately 30 seconds after the
ignition key is removed or turned to
the ACC or LOCK position. However,if the front doors are opened, the
power windows cannot be operated
even within the 30 second period.
The driver’s door has a master power
window switch that controls all the
windows in the vehicle.✽✽NOTICE
While driving with the rear windows
down or with the sunroof (if
equipped) in an open (or partially
open position), your vehicle may
demonstrate a wind buffeting or
pulsation noise. This noise is a nor-
mal occurrence and can be reduced
or eliminated by taking the follow-
ing actions. If the noise occurs with
one or both of the rear windows
down, partially lower both front
windows approximately one inch.
If you experience the noise with the
sunroof open, slightly reduce the
size of the sunroof opening. Window opening and closing

down or pull up the front portion of
the corresponding switch to the firstdetent position (5).

Features of your vehicle
If your vehicle is equipped with a
sunroof, you can slide or tilt your
sunroof with the sunroof control lever
located on the overhead console. The sunroof can only be opened, closed, or tilted when the ignition
switch is in the ON position.
✽✽NOTICE
 In cold and wet climates, the sun- roof may not work properly due to
freezing conditions.
 After a vehicle is washed or in a rainstorm be sure to wipe off any
water that is on the sunroof before
operating it.

✽ NOTICE
 The sunroof cannot slide when it is in the tilt position nor can it be tilt-
ed while in an open or slide posi-
tion.
 While driving the vehicle, it is rec- ommended that you use the sun-
roof in the first detent position to
reduce possible wind noise.

Do not continue to move the sun-
roof control lever after the sun-roof is fully opened, closed, or tilted. Damage to the motor orsystem components could occur.
WARNING
Never adjust the sunroof or
sunshade while driving. This
could result in loss of control
and an accident that may cause
death, serious injury, or proper-
ty damage.
WARNING
In order to prevent accidental
operation of the sunroof, espe-
cially by a child, do not let a
child operate the sunroof.
WARNING
Do not sit on the top of the vehi-
cle. It may cause vehicle damage.

To open or close the sunroof (manu-
al slide feature), pull or push the sun-
roof control lever backward or for-
ward to the first detent position.
Pulling the control lever downward
also closes the sunroof.To open the sunroof automatically:
Pull the sunroof control lever back-
ward to the second detent position
and then release it. The sunroof will
slide open automatically but will not
open all the way. If you would like to
completely open the sunroof, pull the
lever once more. However, the sec-
ond time the lever is pulled the sun-
roof will open only while the lever ispulled.
To stop the sunroof sliding at any point, pull or push the sunroof control
lever momentarily.
To close the sunroof automatically:
Push the sunroof control lever for-
ward to the second detent position
and then release it. The sunroof will
automatically close all the way.
To stop the sunroof sliding at any point, pull or push the sunroof control
lever momentarily.
Automatic reversal
If an object or part of the body is detected while the sunroof is closing
automatically, it will reverse the direc-
tion, and then stop.
The auto reverse function does not
work if a tiny obstacle is between thesliding glass and the sunroof sash.
You should always check that all pas-
sengers and objects are away from
the sunroof before closing it.

Tilting the sunroof
To open the sunroof (autotilt feature),
push the sunroof control lever
upward to the second detent. The
sunroof will tilt all the way open. To
stop the sunroof tilting at any point,
operate the control lever.
To close the sunroof, pull the sunroof
lever downward until the sunroof
moves to the desired position.WARNING- Sunroof
Be careful that no head, hands and body parts are
obstructed by a closing sun-
roof.
Do not extend the face, neck, arms or body outside the sun-
roof while driving.
Make sure your hands and head are safely out of the way
before closing a sunroof.CAUTION
Periodically remove any dirt
that may accumulate on theguide rail.
If you try to open the sunroof when the temperature isbelow freezing or when thesunroof is covered with snowor ice, the glass or the motor could be damaged.
While using sunroof for a long time, a dust between sunroofand roof panel can make anoise.
Open the sunroof and removeregularly the dust using cleancloth.
The sunroof is made to slide together with the sunshade.Do not leave the sunshade closed while the sunroof isopened.

Sunshade The sunshade will automatically open with the glass panel when the
glass panel is moved. Close it manu-
ally if you want it closed. Resetting the sunroof
Whenever the vehicle battery is dis-
connected or discharged, you must
reset your sunroof system as follows:
1.Turn the ignition switch to the ON
position.
2.According to the position of the sunroof, do the following.
1) In case the sunroof is closed completely or tilted:
Push the sunroof control lever
upward until the sunroof tilts
completely upward.
2) In case the sunroof is open: Push the sunroof control lever
forward until the sunroof closes
completely. Push the sunroof
control lever upward until the
sunroof tilts completely upward.
3.Release the sunroof control lever.
4.Push the sunroof control lever upward (about 10 seconds) until
the sunroof has returned to the
original tilt position after it is raised
a little higher than the maximum tilt
position. Then, release the lever. 5.Push the sunroof control lever
upward (about 6 seconds) until the
sunroof operates as follows;
TILT DOWN SLIDE OPEN
SLIDE CLOSE
Then, release the lever.
When this is complete, the sunroof system has been reset.

If the sunroof is not reset when the vehicle battery is discon-nected or discharged, or relatedfuse is blown, the sunroof may operate improperly.

Roof rack (if equipped)
If the vehicle has a roof rack, you can
load cargo on top of your vehicle. Crossbars and fixing components
needed to install the roof rack on
your vehicle may be obtained from
an authorized Kia dealer or other
qualified shop.✽✽
NOTICE
 The crossbars (if equipped) should be placed in the proper load carry-
ing positions prior to placing items
onto the roof rack.
 If the vehicle is equipped with a sunroof, be sure not to position
cargo onto the roof rack in such a
way that it could interfere with
sunroof operation.
 When the roof rack is not being used to carry cargo, the crossbars
may need to be repositioned if
wind noise is detected.

CAUTION
When carrying cargo on the
roof rack, take the necessaryprecautions to make sure thecargo does not damage theroof of the vehicle.
When carrying large objects on the roof rack, make surethey do not exceed the overallroof length or width.
When you are carrying cargo on the roof rack, do not operatethe sunroof (if equipped).

WARNING
The following specification is the maximum weight that can
be loaded onto the roof rack.
Distribute the load as evenly as
possible across the crossbars
(if equipped) and roof rack and
secure the load firmly.
Loading cargo or luggage in
excess of the specified weight
limit on the roof rack may
damage your vehicle.
The vehicle center of gravity will be higher when items are
loaded onto the roof rack.
Avoid sudden starts, braking,
sharp turns, abrupt maneu-
vers or high speeds that may
result in loss of vehicle con-
trol or rollover resulting in anaccident.
