Parking brake & brake fluidwarning
Parking brake warning
This warning light is illuminated when the
parking brake is applied with the ignition
switch in the START or ON position. The
warning light should go off when the
parking brake is released.
The parking brake warning chime (if
equipped) will sound to remind you that
the parking brake is applied when you
are driving above approximately 10 km/h
(6 mph). Always release the parking
brake before you drive.
Low brake fluid level warning
If the warning light remains on, it may
indicate that the brake fluid level in the
reservoir is low.
If the warning light remains on:
1. Drive carefully to the nearest safe location and stop your vehicle.
2. With the engine stopped, check the brake fluid level immediately and add
fluid as required. Then check all brake
components for fluid leaks. 3. Do not drive the vehicle if leaks are
found, the warning light remains on or
the brakes do not operate properly. We
recommend that you contact an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Your vehicle is equipped with dual-diago-
nal braking systems. This means you still
have braking on two wheels even if one
of the dual systems should fail. With only
one of the dual systems working, more
than normal pedal travel and greaterpedal pressure are required to stop the
vehicle. Also, the vehicle will not stop in
as short a distance with only a portion of
the brake system working. If the brakes
fail while you are driving, shift to a lower
gear for additional engine braking and
stop the vehicle as soon as it is safe to do
so.
To check bulb operation, check whether
the parking brake and brake fluid warning
light illuminates when the ignition switchis in the ON position.
ABS (Anti-lock brake sys-
tem) warning light
(if equipped)
This warning light illuminates if the igni-
tion switch is turned ON and goes off in
approximately 3 seconds if the system is
operating normally.
If the ABS warning light remains on,
comes on while driving, or does not
come on when the ignition switch is
turned to the ON position, this indicates
that the ABS may have malfunctioned.
If this occurs, we recommend that the
system be checked by an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer. The normal braking
system will still be operational, but with-
out the assistance of the anti-lock brakesystem.
WARNING
Driving the vehicle with a warning
light on is dangerous. If the brake
warning light remains on, we rec-ommend that the system be
checked by an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer.

Electronic brake force distri-
bution (EBD) system warning
light
If two warning lights illumi- nate at the same time while
driving, your vehicle may
have a malfunction with ABSand EBD system.
In this case, your ABS and regular brake
system may not work normally. We rec-
ommend that the system be checked by
an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.ESC (Electronic Stability
Control) indicator
(if equipped)
The ESC indicator will illuminate when
the ignition switch is turned ON, but
should go off after approximately 3 sec-
onds. When the ESC is on, it monitors
the driving conditions. Under normal driv-
ing conditions, the ESC indicator will
remain off. When a slippery or low trac-tion condition is encountered, the ESC
will operate, and the ESC indicator will
blink to indicate the ESC is operating. But, if the ESC system malfunctions the
indicator illuminates and stays on. We
recommend that the system be checked
by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
ESC OFF indicator (if equipped)
The ESC OFF indicator will illuminate
when the ignition switch is turned ON,
but should go off after approximately 3
seconds. To switch to ESC OFF mode,
press the ESC OFF button. The ESCOFF indicator will illuminate indicating
the ESC is deactivated.
✽✽ NOTICE
After reconnecting or recharging a dis-
charged battery, the ESC OFF indicator
may illuminate. In this case, turn the
steering wheel 360 degrees to the left
and 360 degrees to the right while the
ignition switch is in the ON position.
Then, restart the engine after the igni-
tion is off. If the ESC OFF indicator
does not turn off, we recommend that
the system be checked by an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
If both ABS and Brake warning
lights are on and stay on, your vehi-
cle’s brake system will not work
normally. So you may experience
an unexpected and dangerous situ-
ation during sudden braking. In this
case, avoid high speed driving and
abrupt braking. We recommend that
the system be checked by an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

AUTO STOP indicator
(if equipped)
This indicator will illuminate when the engine enters the Idle Stop mode of theISG (Idle Stop and Go) system.
When the automatic starting occurs, the
"AUTO STOP" indicator on the cluster
will blink for 5 seconds.
For more details, refer to the “ISG (Idle
Stop and Go) system” in section 5.
✽✽ NOTICE
When the engine automatically starts by
the ISG system, some warning
lights(ABS, ESC, ESC OFF, EPS or
Parking brake warning light) may turn
on for a few seconds.
This happens because of low battery
voltage. It does not mean the system has
malfunctioned.
Sunroof open warning chime (if equipped)
If the driver turns off the engine and
opens the driver-side door when the sun-
roof is not fully closed, the warning chime
will sound for approximately 7 seconds.
Close the sunroof securely when leaving
your vehicle.
Glow indicator (Diesel engine)
The indicator illuminates when the igni-
tion switch is in the ON position. The
engine can be started after the preheat
indicator light goes off. The illuminating
time varies with the water temperature,
air temperature and battery condition.
✽✽ NOTICE
If the engine does not start within 10
seconds after the preheating is complet-
ed, turn the ignition key once more to
the LOCK position for 10 seconds, and
then to the ON position, in order to pre-
heat again.
CAUTION
If the preheat indicator continues to illuminate or blinks on and off after
the engine has warmed up or whiledriving, we recommend that the
system be checked by an author-ized HYUNDAI dealer.

Fuel filter warning light(Diesel engine)
This warning light illuminates for 3 sec-
onds after the ignition switch is set to the
ON position and then it will go off. If it
lights up while the engine is running, it
indicates that water has accumulated
inside the fuel filter. If this happens,
remove the water from the fuel filter. For
more information, refer to “Fuel filter” insection 7.
LCD display warning (if equipped)
Door open ! (if equipped)
It displays the cor- responding door ortailgate that is not
closed securely.
Rear parking assist warning (if equipped) It displays the areaan obstacle isdetected while
moving rearward.
For details, refer to “Rear parking
assist system” in
section 4. Low Tire Pressure (if equipped)
It displays the cor-responding tire
that is low with
pressure. For
details, refer to
“TPMS” in section6.
❈ The actual indicator in LCD display may dif-
fer from the illustration.
CAUTION
When the fuel filter warning light illuminates, engine power (vehicle speed & idle speed) may decrease.
If you keep driving with the warninglight on, you can damage your vehi-cle's engine parts and injection sys-
tem of the Common Rail.
If this occurs, we recommend thatthe system be checked by an

Speed limit (if equipped)
The speed limit illuminates on the
LCD display whenthe speed limitcontrol system is
enabled.The speed limit
illuminates on the LCD display when the
speed limit ON-OFF button on the steer-ing wheel is pressed.
If the " " indicator is shown, it indi-cates the speed limit has not been set. The set speed limit
will display whenthe speed limit
control switch
(SET-/RES+) isON.
If you drive over
the speed limit, the set speed limit will
blink and chime will sound.
The set speed limit turns off when the
speed limit is cancelled by pressing the
CANCEL button.
The speed limit display goes off when the
speed limit is deactivated.
Also, if there is a problem with the speed
limit control system, the “ ” indicator
will blink.
If this occurs, we recommend that the
system be checked by an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.
For more information about the speed
limit control usage, refer to “Speed limit
control system” in section 5. Key is not in vehicle
If the smart key is
not in the vehicle
and if any door isopened or closedwith the ENGINE
START/STOP but-
ton in the ACC,
ON, or START position, the warning illu-
minates on the LCD display. Also, the
chime sounds for 5 seconds when the
smart key is not in the vehicle and thedoor is closed.
Always have the smart key with you.

the brake pedal, the warning illuminates
on the LCD display for about 10 seconds
to indicate that you should depress the
brake pedal to start the engine.
Press clutch pedal to start engine
(Manual transaxle)
If the ENGINE
START/STOP but-
ton turns to the
ACC position twice
by pressing the
button repeatedlywithout depressing
the clutch pedal, the warning illuminates
on the LCD display for about 10 seconds
to indicate that you should depress the
clutch pedal to start the engine. Shift to "P" position
(Automatic transaxle)
If you try to turn offthe engine without
the shift lever in
the P (Park) posi-tion, the ENGINE
START/STOP but-
ton will turn to the
ACC position. If the button is pressed
once more it will turn to the ON position.
The warning illuminates on the LCD dis-
play for about 10 seconds to indicate that
you should press the ENGINE START/
STOP button with the shift lever in the P
(Park) position to turn off the engine.
Also, the warning chime sounds for about
10 seconds. (if equipped)

Press start button again
If you can not
operate the
ENGINE START/
STOP button when
there is a problemwith the ENGINE
START/STOP but-
ton system, the warning illuminates for10 seconds and the chime sounds con-
tinuously to indicate that you could start
the engine by pressing the ENGINE
START/STOP button once more. The chime will stop if the ENGINE
START/STOP button system works nor-
mally or the theft alarm system is armed.
If the warning illuminates each time you
press the ENGINE START/STOP button,
we recommend that the system be
checked by an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer. Shift to "P" or "N" to start the engine
(Automatic transaxle)
If you try to startthe engine with the
shift lever not in
the P(Park) or
N(Neutral) posi-
tion, the warning
illuminates for
about 10 seconds on the LCD display.
You can also start the engine with the
shift lever in the N(Neutral) position, but
for your safety start the engine with the
shift lever in the P(Park) position. Press start button while turn steering
If the steeringwheel does not
unlock normallywhen the ENGINE
START/STOP but-ton is pressed, the
warning illumi-
nates for 10 seconds on the LCD display.
Also, the warning chime sounds once

Check steering wheel lock If the steering wheel does not
lock normallywhen the ENGINE
START/STOP but-
ton turns to theOFF position, the
warning illuminates for 10 seconds on
the LCD display. Also, the warning chime
sounds for 3 seconds and the ENGINE
START/STOP button light blinks for 10
seconds. Press start button with smart key
If you press the
ENGINE START/
STOP button while
the warning “Key is
not detected” illu-
minates the warn-
ing “Please press
the start button with smart key” illumi-
nates for 10 seconds on the LCD display.
Also, the immobilizer indicator blinks for
10 seconds. Check stop lamp fuse
When the stoplamp fuse is dis-connected, the
warning illumi-
nates for 10 sec-onds on the LCD
display.
Replace the fuse with a new one. If that
is not possible you can start the engine
by pressing the ENGINE START/STOP
button for 10 seconds in ACC.
