Controls
Wipers and Washers
The windshield wipers and washers can be
used when the power mode is in ON.
■MIST
The wipers run at high speed until you release
the lever.
■Wiper switch (OFF, INT, LO, HI)
Move the lever up or down to change the
wiper settings.
■Adjusting wiper operation
Turn the adjustment ring to adjust the wiper
operation.
■Washer
Sprays while you pull the lever toward you.
When you release the le ver for more than one
second, the spray stops, the wipers sweep two
or three more times to clear the windshield,
then stop.
■Windshield Wipers/Washers1 Wipers and Washers
NOTICE
Do not use the wipers when the windshield is dry.
The windshield will get sc ratched, or the rubber
blades will get damaged.
Turn the washers off if no washer fluid comes out.
The pump may get damaged.
When the wiper motor is kept running under heavy
load for extended periods of time, this protection
feature is activated, and the wiper speed may
decrease or motor operat ion may stop temporarily.
This function will be canceled within a few minutes
once the load has been reduced; the wiper operation
returns to normal.
If the vehicle speeds up while the wipers are
operating intermittently, the length of the wipe
interval shortens.
When the vehicle speeds up, the wiper operation’s
shortest delay se tting ( ) and the LO setting
become the same.
NOTICE
In cold weather, the blades may freeze to the
windshield.
Operating the wipers in th is condition may damage
the wipers. Use the defroster to warm the
windshield, then turn the wipers on.

Maintenance
Refilling Window Washer Fluid
Check the amount of window washer fluid using the washer fluid level gauge on the
cap. If the level is low, fill the washer reservoir.
Pour the washer fluid carefully. Do not
overflow the reservoir.1Refilling Window Washer Fluid
NOTICE
Do not use motor antifreeze or a vinegar/water
solution in the windshield washer reservoir.
Antifreeze can damage y our vehicle’s paint. A
vinegar/water solution ca n damage the windshield
washer pump.
Use only commercially avai lable windshield washer
fluid.
Avoid prolonged use of hard water to prevent lime
scale build up.

uuCleaning uExterior Care
Maintenance
• Keep sufficient distance between the cleaning nozzle and the vehicle body.
• Take particular care around the windows. Standing too close may cause water to
enter the vehicle interior.
• Do not spray high pressure water directly into the motor compartment. Instead,
use low pressure water.
• Do not spray water under the hood wh ere the electric motor and other high
voltage system components are located. It could cause a malfunction.
• Do not spray water directly at the charging port.
A good coat of automotive body wax helps protect your vehicle’s paint from the
elements. Wax will wear off over time and expose your vehicle’s paint to the
elements, so reapply as necessary.
If you get coolant, or battery fluid on resi n coated parts, they may be stained or the
coating may peel. Promptly wipe it aw ay using a soft cloth and clean water.
Wipe using a glass cleaner.

■Maintaining the Bumpers and Other Resin Coated Parts
■Cleaning the Window
1 Applying Wax
NOTICE
Chemical solvents and strong cleaners can damage
the paint, metal, and plasti c on your vehicle. Wipe
away spills immediately.
1 Maintaining the Bumpers an d Other Resin Coated Parts
Ask an authorized Honda Clar ity Electric dealer about
the correct coating material when you want to repair
the painted surface of the parts made of resin.
1 Cleaning the Window
When you raise a wiper arm, you may inadvertently
alter the position of the arm by applying undue force.
If you notice that an arm is not in its proper return
position, active the wipers once and they will
automatically reset. 2 Wipers and Washers P. 157
