HEADLIGHTS
LIGHT BEAM DIRECTION
The correct direction of the headlights is essential
for the comfort and safety of the driver and other
road users. To ensure the best visibility when
travelling with the headlights on, the headlight
alignment must be correct. Contact a Fiat Dealership
to have the direction checked and, if necessary,
adjusted.
HEADLIGHT ALIGNMENT CORRECTOR
This device works with the ignition key in the MAR
position and the dipped headlights on.
The vehicle tilts backwards when it is laden, raising
the beam.
The beams must therefore be aimed again in this
case.Adjusting headlight alignment
Press theorbuttons on the control
panelfig. 100.
The instrument panel display shows the position in
relation to the adjustment set.
Position 0 - one or two people in the front seats.
Position1-fivepeople.
Position2-fivepeople + load in the boot.
Position 3 - driver + maximum permitted load
stowed in the boot.
IMPORTANT Check the alignment of the light beams
each time the weight of the load transported
changes.
FOG LIGHT DIRECTION
(for versions/markets, where provided)
Contact a Fiat Dealership to have the direction
checked and, if necessary, adjusted.
ADJUSTING THE HEADLIGHTS WHEN
ABROAD
The dipped headlights are directed for operation in
the country where the vehicle was originally
purchased. In countries where you drive on the
other side of the road, you need to alter the beam
direction by affixing a specially designed self-adhesive
film in order not to dazzle the vehicles travelling in
the opposite direction.

In Europe the characteristics of child restraint
systems are ruled by the regulation ECE-R44, dividing
them into five weight groups:
Group Weight groups
Group 0 up to 10 kg in weight
Group 0+ up to 13 kg in weight
Group 1 9-18 kg
Group 2 15-25 kg
Group 3 22-36 kg
All restraint devices must bear the certification data,
together with the control mark, on a label solidly
fixed to the child restraint system which must never
be removed.
Lineaccessori Fiat offers child restraint systems for
each weight group. These devices are recommended,
having been specifically designed for Fiat vehicles.
WARNING
SERIOUS DANGER:When an active
passenger airbag is fitted, DO NOT
install rear facing child restraint systems
on the front seat . Deployment of the
airbag in an accident could cause fatal injuries
to the child regardless of the severity of the
impact . It is advisable to always carr y children
in a child restraint system on the rear seat ,
which is the most protected position in the
event of a collision.
WARNING
Should it be necessary to carry a child
on the passenger side front seat in a
rearward facing child restraint system, the
passenger side front airbag and side bag (for
versions/markets, where provided) must be
deactivated through the Setup menu.
Deactivation should be verified by checking
whether the
warning light is switched on in
the central dashboard. Move the passenger's
seat as far back as possible to avoid contact
between the child seat and the dashboard.
WARNING
On the sun visor there is a label with
suitable symbols reminding the user that
it is compulsory to deactivate the airbag if a
rearward facing child restraint system is fitted.
Always comply with the instructions on the
passenger side sun visor (see the
"Supplementar y Restraint System (SRS) -
Airbag" paragraph).
WARNING
Do not move the front or rear seat if a
child is seated on it or on the dedicated
child restraint system

transported in forward facing child restraint systems

Children from 15 to 25 kg may use the vehicle seat
belts directly fig. 122.
In this case, the child restraint system is used to
position the child correctly with respect to the seat
belts so that the diagonal belt section crosses the
child’s chest and not the neck, and the lower part is
snug on the pelvis not the abdomen.

INSTALLING AN ISOFIX SEAT
(for versions/markets, where provided)On some versions the external rear seats are
equipped with ISOFIX attachments, for fitting child
restraint systems quickly, simply and safely.
The ISOFIX system lets you install the ISOFIX child
restraining system without using the car seat belts
but connecting them directly to the carseat with
three anchors in the car.
Traditional child restraint systems can be fitted
alongside Isofix child restraint systems on different
seats in the same vehicle.
As an example, fig. 124 shows an example of a
Universal Isofix child restraint system for weight
group: 1.
WARNING The fig. 124 is indicative and for
assembly purposes only. Fit the child restraint system
according to the instructions, which must be
included.
The other weight groups are covered by specific
ISOFIX child restraint systems, which can be used
only if specifically tested and approved for this vehicle
(see list of vehicles provided with the child restraint
system).
To install an ISOFIX child restraint system, attach it
to the two metal anchorages A fig. 125 located
where the rear seat cushion meets the backrest, then
fix the upper strap (available together with the
restraint system) to the dedicated anchorage
B fig. 126 located at the bottom behind the backrest.
Remember that, in the case of Universal Isofix child
seats, you can use all seats bearing the marking
ECE R44 (R44/03 or later updates) "Universal Isofix".

Below is a summary of the main safety rules
to be followed when carrying children
Main recommendations to carry children safely:
Install the child restraint systems on the rear seat,
which is the most protected position in the event
of an impact.
Keep children in rearward facing child restraint
systems for as long as possible, until 3–4 years
old if possible.
If the passenger's front airbag is deactivated always
check the
warning light always lighted on the
central dashboard fig. 127 to make sure that it has
actually been deactivated.
Carefully follow the instructions supplied with the
child restraint system. Keep the instructions in the
vehicle along with the other documents and this
handbook. Do not use second-hand child restraint
systems without instructions.
Only one child is to be strapped into each
restraint system; never carry two children using
one child restraint system.
Always check that the seat belts do not rest on
the child’s neck.
Always check that the seat belt is well fastened by
pulling on it.
While travelling, do not let the child sit incorrectly
or unfasten the belts.
Never allow a child to put the belt's diagonal
section under an arm or behind their back.
Never carry children on your lap, even newborns.
No one can hold a child in the case of an accident.
If the vehicle has been involved in an accident
of medium-high severity, replace the child restraint
system with a new one. In addition, and
depending on the type of child restraint system
installed, replace the isofix anchorages or the seat
belt with which the child restraint system was
connected.
For any child restraint system mounted facing the
vehicle’s direction of travel on the external rear
seats, independently of its weight group, mount it
after removing the corresponding rear seat
headrest. This does NOT apply to child restraint
systems that consist only of a cushion (without
backrest). You should install such child restraint
systems when the corresponding headrest is
mounted.

Do not drive with your hand resting on
the gear lever as the force exerted, even if
slight , could lead over time to premature
wear of the gearbox internal components. The
clutch pedal should be used only for gear
changes. Do not drive with your foot resting on
the clutch pedal, however slightly. The electronic
clutch control could cut in by interpreting the
incorrect driving style as a fault (for versions/
markets, where provided).SAVING FUEL
Some useful tips are given below for fuel saving and
reducing harmful emissions of CO2 and other
pollutants (nitrogen oxides, unburnt hydrocarbons,
Particulate Matter (PM) etc.).
GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS
The general factors that affect fuel consumption are
listed below.
Vehicle maintenance
Have checks and adjustments carried out in
accordance with the “Scheduled Servicing Plan”.
Ty r e s
Check the tyre pressure at least once every four
weeks: if the pressure is too low, consumption levels
increase as resistance to rolling is higher.
Unnecessary loads
Do not travel with an overloaded boot. The weight
of the vehicle (especially when driving in town)
and its trim greatly affect fuel consumption
and stability.
Roof rack/ski rack
Remove the roof rack or the ski rack from the roof
after use. These accessories reduce the aerodynamic
coefficient of the vehicle and have a negative effect
