In STOP mode of the Stop &
Start, the transition to START
mode has been rejected
because the clutch pedal is not
fully pressed down. With a manual gearbox, you must declutch fully to
allow the change to engine START mode.

Foot on brakeContinuous. The brake pedal must be
pressed. With an electronic gearbox, selector in position N
,
press the brake pedal to start the engine.
With an automatic gearbox, with the engine running,
press the brake pedal before releasing the parking
brake to unlock the lever and come out of position P .
If you wish to release the parking brake without
pressing the brake pedal, this warning light will
remain on.
Flashing. With an electronic gearbox, the
clutch will overheat if you hold
the vehicle on an incline using
the accelerator for too long. Use the brake pedal and/or the parking brake.

the steering wheel energetically to move

W ith a petrol engine, operate the starter
motor by turning the key to position 3
without pressing the accelerator pedal,
until the engine starts. Once the engine is
running, release the key.

ith a Diesel engine, turn the key to
position 2 , ignition on, to operate the
engine pre-heating system.
Wait until this warning light goes off
in the instrument panel then operate
the starter motor by turning the key
to position 3 without pressing the
accelerator pedal, until the engine
starts. Once the engine is running,
release the key.
In winter conditions, the lighting time of
the indicator light is longer. When the
engine is warm, the indicator light does
not come on. If the engine does not start immediately,
turn off the ignition. Wait a few minutes
before restarting. If after a few attempts
the engine does not start, do not persist:
you risk damaging the starter and the
engine. Contact a
CITROËN dealer or a
qualified workshop.
In temperate conditions, do not leave
the engine at idle to warm up but move
off straight away and drive at moderate
speed.
Never leave the engine running in
an enclosed area without adequate
ventilation: internal combustion engines
emit toxic exhaust gases, such as carbon
monoxide. There is a risk of poisoning and
death!
In severe wintry conditions (temperature
below -23°C), the engine should be left at
idle for four minutes before moving off to
ensure the correct operation and life of the
mechanical parts of your vehicle, engine
and gearbox.

Parking brake

F Pull the parking brake lever up slightly,
press the release button, then lower the
lever fully.
When parking on a slope, direct your
wheels against the kerb, apply the parking
brake, engage a gear and switch off the
ignition. When the vehicle is being driven,
if this warning light and the STOP

warning light come on, accompanied
by an audible signal and a message
in the screen, this indicates that the
parking brake is still on or has not
been fully released.

Accelerate.
Do not press the brake and clutch pedals
simultaneously. This can cause very rapid
wear on the clutch.Autonomous traction function
This function provides great flexibility in
manoeuvring the vehicle at low speed (when
parking, in traffic jams, …).
With the gear selector in position A , M or R,
the vehicle moves as soon as you take your
foot off the brake pedal , at low speed and
with the engine at idle.
When the engine is running, never leave
children in the vehicle without supervision.
The autonomous traction function may
be temporarily unavailable if the clutch
temperature is too high or the slope too
steep.

Cruise control
System which automatically maintains the
speed of the vehicle at the value programmed
by the driver, without any action on the
accelerator pedal.
Cruise control is switched on manually: it
requires a minimum speed of at least 25 mph
(40 km/h) and the engagement of:

ourth gear on a manual gearbox.

Sec

ond gear on an automatic or electronic
gearbox, in sequential mode,
-
Position A on an electronic gearbox or
position D on an automatic gearbox.
Cruise control is switched off manually or
by pressing the brake or clutch pedal or on
triggering of the trajectory control systems for
safety reasons.
It is possible to exceed the programmed speed
temporarily by depressing the accelerator
pedal.
To return to the programmed speed, simply
release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition cancels any
programmed speed setting.
Cruise control cannot, in any
circumstances, replace the need to
respect speed limits, nor can it replace the
need for vigilance on the part of the driver.Steering mounted controls
The controls of this system are grouped
together on lever A.
