Destination
If route guidance is not active, touchthe Destination icon on the HomePage to access the DestinationEntry menu. Several options can beselected to plan a route by enteringdestinations. Some destinationentry items such as PreviousDestinations, Address Book, and MyHome may be grayed out if nodestination was previously enteredor saved.
Letters of the alphabet, symbols,punctuation, and numbers, whenavailable, display on the navigationdisplay as alpha/numeric keyboards.The alpha keyboard appears whendata needs to be entered.
QWERTY or ABC :To u c h t o t o g g l ebetween QWERTY or ABCkeyboard character layouts.
Symbols or ÄÖ :Use to selectsymbols.
Space :Use to enter a spacebetween characters or the words ofaname.
Delete :To u c h t o d e l e t e a nincorrect character that has beenselected.
Last 5 :To u c h t o s e l e c t a n y o f t h elast five cities or street namesentered if available.
Address Entry
To u c h t h e A d d r e s s i c o n t o a c c e s sthe Enter Address display. Set aroute by entering the state name,city name, street name, housenumber, and intersection.
If no state or province has beenentered previously, the city andstate fields are not available. Touchthe display at the right of the cityname to select a state or province.
If the state or province waspreviously set and is displayed,touch the display at the right of thecity name to change the selectedstate or province.
To m a k e n a m e s e l e c t i o n e a s i e r , t h esystem highlights only charactersthat are available after thepreviously entered one.
State :Enter a state name.
City :Enter a city name.
Street :Enter a street name.

House No. :Enter a valid addressnumber.
Junction :Enter a street name thatintersects with the selected street.
Entering the city name first:
1. Enter the city name.
2. Enter the street name. TouchDelete to delete an incorrectlyentered character.
Alistdisplaysifsixorfewernames are available. If thereare more than six, there is amatch counter with a numberof available streets. Touch Listto view the list and select thestreet.
3. Enter the house number.
4. Touch Done at any time andthe system tries to resolve adestination based on theentered information, thenshows it on the display.
5. Touch Start Guidance and theroute calculates.
To Enter a Destination in AnotherCountry
To c h a n g e t h e d e s t i n a t i o n a d d r e s sfrom the United States to anothercountry, the country will need tochange in the navigation system. Tochange the country address:
1. Touch the Destination icon onthe Home Page.
2. Touch the Address icon todisplay the Enter Addressdisplay.
3. Go to the State/Province lineoption and select. TheProvince entry display appears.Select the Country line option.The Country List displays.
4. Select .
5. Enter State/Province andconfirm the selection.
The destination in other countriescan also be changed using voicerecognition. SeeVoice Recognition0189.
Points of Interest (POI)

The POI List allows selection of adestination search by Category,Name, or Telephone Number.
Entering by POI name:
1. Select Search by Name.
2. Make sure the correct country,state/province, and city arepresent, then select Search.Add the city location to narrowdown the results of the search.
3. Enter the POI name.
4. Select a few of the charactersor spell the name in full, byusing the alpha keyboard.
5. Touch Done, or if the list hassix or fewer items, a list ofPOIs will immediately display.
6. Touch the desired POI.
7. Touch Start Guidance and theroute calculates.
Previous Destinations
Select a destination from thePrevious Destination List. Up to15 points that have been previouslyentered can be recalled. If the list isfull, the oldest destinations areautomatically deleted once thenewest destinations are added.
Address Book
If no destination is saved to theaddress book, save a destination:
1. Touch the Destination icon onthe Home Page.
2. Enter an address using any ofthe destination methods(Address Entry, POIEntry, etc.).
3. On the DestinationConfirmation display,select Save.
4. The system displays theoptions Name, Number, Icon,and Done. Touch Done to savethe destination.
5. To customize the address bookentry, select Name, Number,or Icon.

If a destination is already saved tothe address book, touch theDestination icon on the Home Pageto display the Address Book option.
Choose a destination by selectingan address that has been stored inthe address book.
1. Touch the Address Bookoption. A list displays theaddress book entries.
2. Select the destination fromthe list.
3. Touch Start Guidance and theroute calculates.
To e d i t A d d r e s s B o o k e n t r i e s :
1. Select an item from theaddress book.
2. On the DestinationConfirmation display,select Edit.
3. The system displays theoptions Name, Number, Icon,and Delete. Touch Delete todelete the destination from theaddress book.
4. To customize the address bookentry, select Name, Number,or Icon.
Latitude/Longitude Coordinates
Choose a destination based onlatitudinal and longitudinalcoordinates.
To e n t e r t h e l o c a t i o n a s c o o r d i n a t e s ,latitude and longitude:
1. Touch the Destination icon onthe Home Page. Touch theLatitude and Longitude optionto show the display above.
2. Select Latitude or Longitude tochange. Enter the coordinatesin degrees, minutes, andseconds. Then touch Done tosave and exit.
3. Touch Search if the informationis correct.
4. Touch Start Guidance. Theroute calculates.
Favorite Routes
Adding a Favorite Route:
1. Touch the Destination icon onthe Home Page to display theFavorite Routes option.

2. Touch the Favorite Routesoption to display Add FavoriteRoute.
3. Select Add Favorite Route andenter a favorite route name.
4. Touch OK and the displayreturns to the favoriteroutes list.
5. Select the favorite route andadd a waypoint using any ofthe destination methods, suchas address entry, POIentry, etc.
Selecting a Favorite Route:
1. Touch the Destination icon onthe Home Page to displayFavorite Routes.
2. Touch the Favorite Routesoption to display a list ofavailable favorite routes.
3. Scroll and select a favoriteroute.
4. Touch the Start Guidanceoption. The route calculates.
Deleting a Favorite Route:
1. Touch the Destination icon onthe Home Page to display theFavorite Routes option. Touchthis option to display the list ofavailable favorite routes.
2. Scroll and select the route tobe deleted.
3. Touch Edit.
4. Touch Delete Favorite Route.
Changing the route name:
1. Touch the Destination icon onthe Home Page to display theFavorite Routes option. Touchthis option to display the list ofavailable favorite routes.
2. Touch the Edit option.
3. Select Edit Name.
4. Using the keypad, enterthe name.
5. Touch Done. The new namewill be in the FavoriteRoutes Menu.
My Home
If no home destination is entered,save a destination by touching theDestination icon on the Home Page.Enter a destination using any of thedestination entry methods (AddressEntry, POI Entry, etc.). Select Saveas Home from the DestinationConfirmation display.
If a destination is already saved ashome, touch the Destination icon onthe Home Page to display the MyHome option. Touch this option tostart route guidance.

The Travel Guide POI entry listallows selection of a destinationsearch by category or name.
Entering by POI Category
1. Select Category from the POIList menu to access the POISelection option.
2. Enter the necessaryinformation by first selectingthe location line item to accessthe Location menu.
3. Select any of the line optionssuch as Nearby.

4. Select Category from the POISelection menu to access thePOI List.
5. Select any of the line optionssuch as All POIs.
6. Select Sort Method from thePOI Selection menu to accessthe Search Order menu. Selectone of the two optionsavailable. These options are ByDistance or By Name.
7. Select Search.
8. Select the desired POI.

Destination Confirmation
Multiple options are available on theDestination Confirmation display:
Start Guidance :To u c h t o s t a r t aroute calculation to the displayeddestination.
Show on Map :To u c h t o s w i t c h t othe map view with the displayeddestination centered on the map.
Route Options :To u c h t o c h a n g eroute options. See“Route Options”following.
Call :To u c h t o i n i t i a t e a p h o n e c a l lto the displayed phone number,if phone capability is available.
Save as Home :To u c h t o s a v e t h edisplayed destination as your homedestination. The home destinationwill be stored at the top of the list ofdestinations in the address book.
Save/Edit :To u c h t o s a v e t h edisplayed destination into theaddress book. If the displayeddestination is already stored in theaddress book, Edit will show as themenu item.
Route Options
To u c h t o d i s p l a y v a r i o u s r o u t eoptions.
Alternative Routes :If enabled, thesystem will provide an additionaldisplay after Start Guidance hasbeen selected. Select Fastest,Shortest, or Eco calculated routesbefore selecting GO.
Fastest :This calculates for thequickest route.
Shortest :This calculates for theshortest route.
Eco :This calculates for the mostfuel efficient route based on speedand distance.
Under the Route Options menu,there are route preferences that bydefault are all enabled.Acheckmarkplacednexttoeachpreference indicates this. All ofthese preferences are used whencalculating the route. If any of thesepreferences are unselected, theroute will be calculated withoutincluding these preferences.
Use Highways :Deselect to avoidmajor roads.
Use Toll Roads :Deselect to avoidtoll roads.
Use Ferries :Deselect to avoidferries.
Use Tunnels :Deselect to avoidtunnels.
Use Time Restricted :Deselect toavoid time restricted roads.
Use Car Train :Deselect to avoidcar trains.
