Passenger Sensing
System
United States
Canada and Mexico
The passenger sensing system willturn off the front outboardpassenger frontal airbag undercertain conditions. No other airbagis affected by the passengersensing system. SeePassengerSensing System064.
The passenger airbag statusindicator lights on the overheadconsole are visible when the vehicleis started. SeePassenger AirbagStatus Indicator011 7.
Mirror Adjustment
Using hood-mounted air deflectorsand add-on convex mirrorattachments could decrease mirrorperformance.
Exterior Mirrors
Manual Mirrors
If equipped, adjust the manualmirror by moving it up and down orleft to right to see a little of the sideof the vehicle and to have a clearview behind the vehicle.

Power Mirrors
If equipped, adjust the powermirrors:
1. Move the selector switch to L(Left) or R (Right) to choosedriver or passenger mirror.
2. Press the arrows on the controlpad to move each mirror in thedesired direction.
3. Return the selector switch tothe center position.

Interior Lighting
Dome Lamps
The interior lamps control in theoverhead console controls both thefront and rear interior lamps.
(:Turns the lamps off.
H:Turns the lamps on when anydoor is opened.
':Keeps the lamps on allthe time.
Reading Lamps (If Equipped)
The front reading lamps are in theoverhead console.
The rear reading lamps are in theheadliner.

Exterior Lighting
The exterior lamp control is on theinstrument panel to the left of thesteering wheel.
O:Turns off the automaticheadlamps and Daytime RunningLamps (DRL). Turn the headlampcontrol to the off position again toturn the automatic headlamps orDRL back on.
For vehicles first sold in Canada, offwill only work when the vehicle is inP(Park).
AUTO :Automatically turns on theheadlamps at normal brightness,together with the following:

Windshield Wiper/Washer
The windshield wiper/washer leveris on the right side of the steeringcolumn. With the ignition in ACC/ACCESSORY or ON/RUN, movethe windshield wiper lever to selectthe wiper speed.
HI :Use for fast wipes.
LO :Use for slow wipes.
INT :Move the lever up to INT for
intermittent wipes, then turn thex
INT band up for more frequentwipes or down for less frequentwipes.
OFF :Use to turn the wipers off.
1X :For a single wipe, briefly movethe wiper lever down. For severalwipes, hold the wiper lever down.
nL:Pull the windshield wiperlever toward you to spray windshieldwasher fluid and activate the wipers.

Climate Controls
These systems control the heating,cooling, and ventilation.

Fast Flash :Vehicle is unsecured.Adoororthehoodisopen.
Slow Flash :Alarm system isarmed.
Arming the Alarm System
1. Turn off the vehicle.
2. Lock the vehicle with one ofthe following:
.Use the Remote KeylessEntry (RKE) transmitter.
.With a door open, pressQ
on the interior of the door.
3. After 30 seconds the alarmsystem will arm, and theindicator light will begin toslowly flash indicating thealarm system is operating.
PressingQon the RKE
transmitter a second time willbypass the 30-second delayand immediately arm the alarmsystem.
The theft-deterrent alarm system willnot arm if the doors are locked withthe key.
If the driver door is opened withoutfirst unlocking with the RKEtransmitter, the horn will chirp andthe lights will flash to indicatepre-alarm. If the vehicle is notstarted, or the door is not unlocked
by pressingKon the RKE
transmitter during the 10-secondpre-alarm, the alarm will beactivated.
If a door or the hood is openedwithout first disarming the system,the turn signals will flash and thehorn will sound for about30 seconds. The alarm system willthen re-arm to monitor for the nextunauthorized event.
Disarming the Alarm System
To d i s a r m t h e a l a r m s y s t e m o r t u r noff the alarm if it has been activated:
.PressKon the RKE transmitter.
.Start the vehicle.
To a v o i d s e t t i n g o f f t h e a l a r m b yaccident:
.Lock the vehicle after alloccupants have left the vehicleand all doors are closed.
.Always unlock a door with theRKE transmitter.
Unlocking the driver door with thekey will not disarm the system orturn off the alarm.
Detecting a Tamper Condition
IfKis pressed on the RKE
transmitter and the horn chirps threetimes, an alarm occurred previouslywhile the alarm system was armed.

Immobilizer Operation
This vehicle has a passivetheft-deterrent system.
The system does not have to bemanually armed or disarmed.

Presszto heat the driver or
passenger cushion and seatback.
The indicator light comes on whenthis feature is on.
Press the button once for thehighest setting. With each press ofthe button, the seat will change tothe next lower setting, and then tothe off setting. The indicator lightsnext to the buttons indicate three forthe highest setting and one for thelowest. If the heated seats are onhigh, their level may automaticallybe lowered after approximately30 minutes.
Remote Start Auto Heated
Seats
During a remote start, the heatedseats can be turned onautomatically. The heated seats arecanceled when the ignition is turnedon. Press the heated seat button touse the heated seats after thevehicle is started.
The heated seat indicator lights donot turn on during a remote start.
The temperature performance of anunoccupied seat may be reduced.This is normal.
The heated seats will not turn onduring a remote start unless theyare enabled in the vehiclepersonalization menu. SeeRemoteVehicle Start032andVehiclePersonalization0139.
Rear Seats
Rear Seat Reminder
Look in Rear Seat ReminderFeature
If equipped, this message displaysunder certain conditions indicatingthere may be an item or passengerin the rear seat. Check beforeexiting the vehicle.
This feature will activate when asecond row door is opened whilethe vehicle is on or up to 10 minutesbefore the vehicle is turned on,including if the vehicle was startedremotely. There will be an alertwhen the vehicle is turned off. Thealert does not directly detect objectsin the rear seat; instead, undercertain conditions, it detects when arear door is opened and closed,indicating that there may besomething in the rear seat.
The feature is active only once eachtime the vehicle is turned on and off,and will require reactivation byopening and closing the second rowdoors. There may be an alert evenwhen there is nothing in the rear

have been stressed or damaged.See your dealer to have the safetybelt assemblies inspected orreplaced.
New parts and repairs may benecessary even if the safety beltsystem was not being used at thetime of the crash.
Have the safety belt pretensionerschecked if the vehicle has been in acrash, or if the airbag readiness lightstays on after you start the vehicleor while you are driving. SeeAirbagReadiness Light011 7.
Airbag System
The vehicle has the followingairbags:
.Afrontalairbagforthedriver.
.Afrontalairbagforthefrontoutboard passenger.
.Aseat-mountedsideimpactairbag for the driver.
.Aseat-mountedsideimpactairbag for the front outboardpassenger.
.Aroof-railairbagforthedriverand the passenger seateddirectly behind the driver.
.Aroof-railairbagforthefrontoutboard passenger and thepassenger seated directlybehind the front outboardpassenger.
All vehicle airbags have the wordAIRBAG on the trim or on a labelnear the deployment opening.
For frontal airbags, the wordAIRBAG is on the center of thesteering wheel for the driver and onthe instrument panel for the frontoutboard passenger.
For seat-mounted side impactairbags, the word AIRBAG is on theside of the seatback closest tothe door.
For roof-rail airbags, the wordAIRBAG is on the ceiling or trim.
Airbags are designed to supplementthe protection provided by safetybelts. Even though today's airbagsare also designed to help reducethe risk of injury from the force of aninflating bag, all airbags must inflatevery quickly to do their job.

If the indicator light does notturn on, this indicates that themobile device may need to bere-positioned.
To r e - p o s i t i o n , r e m o v e t h emobile device from the pad,turn 180 degrees and waitthree seconds before placing/aligning the mobile device onthe pad again.
Warning Lights,
Gauges, and
Indicators
Warning lights and gauges cansignal that something is wrongbefore it becomes serious enoughto cause an expensive repair orreplacement. Paying attention to thewarning lights and gauges couldprevent injury.
Some warning lights come on brieflywhen the engine is started toindicate they are working. Whenone of the warning lights comes onand stays on while driving, or whenone of the gauges shows there maybe a problem, check the section thatexplains what to do. Waiting to dorepairs can be costly and evendangerous.
