The tire repair is only meant for temporary use .
Change the spare tire as soon as possible~

If the ti re is pie rced by an object such as a nail,
do not remove the objec t from the tire .
The tire repair set is able to be used at tempera­
tures as low as -4 °F ( -20 °C).
The tire mobility kit may not be used:
-If the tire has cuts or punctures that are larger
than 0.16 in (4 mm) @~

-If the rim is damaged@.
- if you drove with very low tire pressure or w ith-
out air in the tire@.

Service Facility for assistance in these s ituations .
A WARNING
-Please note that the tire mob ility kit cannot
be used in a ll situations, and that it may on­
ly be used temporarily.
- The tire sealant must not come in contact
with sk in, eyes, or clothes.
- If tire sealant gets in your eyes or on your
sk in, thoroughly r inse the affected area im­
med iately w ith clean water.
- Do not inhale the fumes .
- If you swallow any of the t i re sealant, thor -
oughly rinse your mouth immediately and
dr ink a lot of water . Do not induce vomiting.
Seek medical attention immediately.
- Change your clothes immed iately if they get
tire sealant on them.

-If an allergic reaction occurs, seek immedi·
ate med ical attent ion.
- Keep the tire sealant away from children.
(1} Tips
- If sea lant leaks, allow it to dry in place. You
can then peel it off like a sticker.
- Note the expiration date on the sealant bot­
tle. Replace the ti re sealant at an author­
ized Audi dea ler or authorized Audi Service
Facility.
- Radio reception can be interr upted when
operating the compressor*.
- Obey all laws.

., Remove the top wheel bolt complete ly using
the hex socket in the screwdriver hand le (in the
vehicle tool kit)

kit) by hand into the empty hole

The wheel bolts must be clean and loosen/tight ­
en easily . Check the contact surfaces for the
wheel and hub. Contam inants on these surfaces
must be removed before installing the wheel.
A WARNING
Never use the hex socket in the screwdriver
handle to tighten the wheel bolts. Using the
hex socket will not achieve the required tight­
ening torque, which increases the risk of an
accident.
(D Note
When removing or installing the wheel, the
rim could h it the brake rotor/ceramic brake
r otor* and damage the rotor. Work carefully
and have a second person help you .

- When mounting tires with unidirectional
tread design make sure the tread pattern is
pointed the right way

-The wheel bolts should be clean and easy to
turn. Check for dirt and corrosion on the
mating surfaces of both the wheel and the
hub. Remove all dirt from these surfaces be­
fore remounting the whee l.
Unidirectional tires
A unidirectional tire profi le is identified by arrows
that point in the runn ing direction on the tire
s idewall. You must always adhere to the speci­
fied running direction. This is necessary ensure
the tire's optimum performance in regard to ad­
hesion , running noise, friction and hydroplaning.
To benefit fully from the advantages of the uni­
directional tire design, you should replace faulty
tires as soon as possible and restore the correct
running direction on all of the tires.

-If you notice that the wheel bolts are cor­
roded and diffic ult to turn w hile changing a
tire , they should be rep laced before you
check the tightening torque .
- Drive at reduced speed until you have the tightening torques checked .
Notes on wheel changing
Please read the information c::> page 262 if you
are go ing to use a spare tire which is different
from the tires on your vehicle .
After you change a tire:
- Che ck the tire pre ssure on the spare immedi ­
atel y after in stallation .
- Hav e the wheel bolt tightening torque
che cked with a to rque w rench a s soon a s pos·
s ible b y your author ized Audi deal er o r a
qualified servi ce stat ion.
- With ste el and allo y wh eel rim s, the wheel
b o lts a re co rrectly tightened at a torque of
90 ft lb (120 Nm) .
- If you n otice that the wh eel bolt s are corroded

A WARNING
--If you are going to equip your vehicle with
tires or r ims which differ from those which
were factory installed, then be sure to read
the information

-Always make sure the damaged wheel or
even a flat tire and the jack and tool kit are
p roperly sec ured i n the luggage compart­
men t and ar e not loose in the passenger
compartment.
- I n an accident or sudden maneuver they
could fly forward, injuri ng a nyone in the ve­
h icle.
- Always s to re damaged wheel, jack and tools
securely in the luggage compartment. Oth­
erwise, in an acciden t or sudden maneuver
they co uld fly forward, causing injury to pas­
sengers in the veh icle .

necessary by an authorized Audi dealer or author­
ized Audi Service Facility as soon as possible.
There are some restric tions on the use of the
compact spare tire. The compact spare tire has
been designed specifically for your type of vehi­
cle. Do not replace it with the spare tire from an­
other type of vehicle .
Remo ving th e spar e tire
.,. Turn the handle~ fig. 211 @counter-clock-
wise.
.,. Remove the spare tire.
Remov ing th e vehicle jac k
.,. Lift up the cover on the right side of the lug­
gage compartment and remove the vehicle
jack.
Snow chain s
For technical reasons, the use of snow cha ins on
the compact spare t ire is not permitted.
If you have to drive with snow chains and a front
tire fails, mount the spare wheel in place of a
rear tire. Install the snow cha ins on the rear tire
that you removed, and install that in place of the
front tire that failed .

-
-After installing a spare t ire, the tire p res­
s u re must be checked as soon as poss ible.

-If the spare tire is more than 6 years o ld,
use it only in an emergency and with ex ­
treme caution and carefu l driving.
- T he spare tire is intended on ly for tempora­
ry and short-term use. It shou ld be replaced
as soon as possible with the norma l wheel
and tire.
- After mounting the compact spare tire, the
tire pressure must be checked as soon as
poss ible. The tire pressure of the compact
spare tire must be 61 psi (420 kPA); other­
wise, you risk hav ing an accident.
- Do not drive faster than SO mph (80 km/h).
You risk hav ing an accident.

- Avoid full-throttle acceleration, heavy brak­
ing, and fast cornering. You r isk having an
accident.
- Never drive using more than one spare
wheel and tire. You r isk having an accident.
- Normal summer or winter tires must not be
mounted on the compact spare wheel rim.
- For technical reasons, the use of tire chains
on the spare tire is not permitted. If it is
necessary to drive w ith tire chains, the spare
wheel must be mounted on the front axle in
the event of a flat in a rear t ire. The newly
ava ilable front wheel must then be installed
in place of the rear wheel with the flat tire.
Installing the tire chain before mounting
the wheel and tire is recommended.
- Loose items in the passenger compartment
can cause se rious personal injury during
ha rd bra king or in an accident. Never store
the inflatable spare tire or jack and tools in
the passenger compartment .
- Normal summer or winter tires must not be
mounted on the compact spare wheel rim .

-Changing the engine settings will adversely
affect emission levels. This is detrimental to
the environment and increases fuel con­
sumption.
-Always observe environmental regulations
when disposing of old engine oil, used brake
fluid, dirty engine coolant, spent batteries
or worn out tires.
- Undeployed airbag modules and pretension­
ers might be classified as Perchlorate Mate­
rial -special handling may apply, see
www .dtsc.ca.gov/hazardouswaste/perchlo­
rate . When the vehicle or parts of the re­
straint system including airbag modules
safety belts with pretensioners are scrap­
ped, all applicable laws and regulations
must be observed. Your authorized Audi
dealer is familiar with these requirements
and we recommend that you have your deal­ er perform this service for you.
Accessories and
technical changes
Additional accessories and parts replacement
Always consult on authorized Audi dealer before
purchasing accessories.
Your vehicle incorporates the latest safety design
features ensuring a high standard of active and passive safety.
This safety could be compromised by non-ap­ proved changes to the vehicle. For this reason, if
parts have to be replaced, please observe the fol­
lowing points when installing additional accesso­
ries:
Approved Audi accessories and genuine Audi parts are available from authorized Audi dealers.
These dealers also have the necessary facilities, tools and trained specialists to install the parts
and accessories properly .
Consumer information
A WARNING
Using the wrong spare parts or using non-ap­
proved accessories can cause damage to the
vehicle and serious personal injury.
- Use only accessories expressly approved by
Audi and genuine Audi spare parts
- These parts and accessories have been spe­
cially designed to be used on your vehicle.
- Do not use license plate brackets in the
front area that are different from the one
installed at the factory, or add additional li­
cense plate brackets.
- Never install accessories such as telephone
cradles or beverage holders on airbag covers
or within the airbag deployment zones. Do­
ing so will increase the risk of injury if air­
bags are triggered in an accident!
- Before you check anything in the engine
compartment, always read and heed all
WARNINGS Qpoge 244.

-If items other than genuine Audi spare
parts, add-on equipment and accessory
items are used or if repair work is not per­
formed according to specified methods, this
can result in severe damage to your vehi­
cle's engine and body (such as corrosion)
and adversely affect your vehicle's warranty.
- If emergency repairs must be performed
elsewhere, have the vehicle examined by an
authorized Audi dealer as soon as possible.
- The manufacturer cannot be held liable for
damage which occurs due to failure to com­
ply with these stipulations.
