■Auto idle stop m ay not activate when:
• The vehicle is stopped by braking suddenly.
• The steering wheel is operated.
• The fan speed is high.
• Altitude is high.
• The vehicle is repeated ly accelerated and dece lerated at a low speed.
• The climate control system is in use, and there is a significant difference between
the set temperature and the actual interior temperature.
• Humidity in the interior is high.
• The rear fan is set to maximum speed.
u Auto Idle Stop may not ac tivate under other conditions when the rear climate
control system is in use.

• The Auto Idle Stop OFF button is pressed.
• When a steering wheel is operated.
• The gear position is change to

when:
• The automatic brake hold sy stem is canceled and the electric parking brake is
applied automatically.
The automatic brake hold system has a problem.
Briefly keeps the brakes applied after releas ing the brake pedal to restart the engine.
This can keep your vehicle from unexpectedly moving while on an incline.

uuWhen Driving uAdaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow (LSF)

■A vehicle detected ahead is within ACC with LSF range and slows to a stop
Your vehicle also stops, automatically. The
Stopped message appears on the MID.
When the vehicle ahead of you starts again,
the vehicle icon on the MID blinks. If you press
the RES/+/ SET/– switch up or down, or
depress the accelerator pedal, ACC with LSF
operates again within the previously set
speed.1 A vehicle detected ahead is with in ACC with LSF range and slows
to a stop
3WARNING
Exiting a vehicle that has been stopped
while the ACC with LSF system is operating
can result in the vehicle moving without
operator control.
A vehicle that moves without operator
control can cause a crash, resulting in
serious injury or death.
Never exit a vehicle when the vehicle is
stopped by ACC with LSF.

The higher your vehicle’s following-speed is, the longer the short, middle, long or
extra long following-dista nce becomes. See the following examples for your
reference.
When your vehicle stops automatically beca use a vehicle detected ahead of you has
stopped, the distance between the two vehicles will vary based on the ACC with LSF
distance setting.

■Automatic cancellation
The beeper sounds and a message app ears on the MID when ACC with LSF is
automatically canceled. Any of these co nditions may cause the ACC with LSF to
automatically cancel:
• Bad weather (rain, fog, snow, etc.)
• When the radar sensor in the front grille gets dirty.
• The vehicle ahead of you cannot be detected.
• An abnormal tire condition is detected, or the tires are skidding.
• Driving on a mountainous road, or driving off road for extended periods.
• Abrupt steering wheel movement.
• When the ABS, VSA ® or CMBS
TM is activated.
• When the ABS or VSA ® system indicator comes on.
• When the vehicle is stopped on a very steep slope.
• When you manually apply the parking brake.
• When the detected vehicle within the ACC with LSF range is too close to your
vehicle.
• When a detected vehicle goes out of th e ACC with LSF range while your vehicle
is stationary.
• The camera behind the rearview mirror, or the area around the camera, including
the windshield, gets dirty.
The ACC with LSF automatic cancellation can be also triggered by the following
causes. In these cases, the electric park ing brake will be automatically applied.
• The driver’s seat belt is unfastened when the vehicl e is stationary.
• The vehicle stops for mo re than 10 minutes.
• The engine is turned off.
• When trailer stability assist is activated.

1Automatic cancellation
Even though ACC with LSF has been automatically
canceled, you can still resu me the prior set speed.
Wait until the condition that caused ACC with LSF to
cancel improves, then press the RES/+/SET/– switch
up.

uuWhen Driving uLane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

3. Keep your vehicle near the center of the
lane while driving.
u The dotted outer lines change to solid
ones once the system starts operating
after detecting the left and right lane
markings.
To cancel the LKAS:
Press the MAIN or LKAS button.
The LKAS is turned off every time you stop the
engine, even if you turned it on the last time
you drove the vehicle.

The LKAS temporarily deactivates when it fails to
detect lane lines. When the system detects the lines
again, it comes back on automatically.

■The system operation is suspended if
you:
• Set the wipers to continuous operation.
u Turning the wipers off resumes the
LKAS.
• Decrease the vehicle speed to about 40
mph (64 km/h) or less.
u Increasing the vehicle speed to about 45
mph (72 km/h) or more resumes the
LKAS.
• Depress the brake pedal.
u The LKAS resumes and starts detecting
the lane lines again once you release the
brake pedal.
• Set the wiper switch to AUTO and the
wipers operate continuously.
u The LKAS resumes when the wipers stop
or operate intermittently.
When the LKAS is suspended,
the lane lines on the MID
change to contour lines.
