The power mode must be in ON to use the
seat heaters and ventilators*.
1. Select .
2. Change the setting with one of the
following:
The Heat/Cool
* level indicators: Select your
desired level setting. The left is for a LO
setting, the center is for a MID setting, and
to the right for a HI setting.
(+/(-: To go up or down one level at a
time.
AUTO: The system automatically selects
the setting most suitable to the ambient
environment.
OFF: Turn off the system.

Do not use the seat heater s and the seat ventilation
ev en in LO when the power system is off. Under such
conditions, the 12-volt ba ttery may be weakened,
making the power system difficult to start.

temperature (e.g., persons with diabetes,
lower-limb nerve damage, or paralysis) or
with sensitive skin should not use seat
heaters.

Controls

Press the seat heater button:
Once - The HI setting (three indicators on)
Twice - The MID setting (two indicators on)
Three times - The LO setting (one indicator on)
Four times - The OFF setting (no indicators on)
Pull the tab and roll up the sunshade all the
way. Use the hooks to hang it.

Do not use the seat heaters even in LO when the
power system is off. Unde r such conditions, the 12-
volt battery may be weakened, making the power
system difficult to start.

Turning on the Power
1.Make sure the parkin g brake is applied.
u The electric parking brake indicator
comes on for 15 seconds when you press
the electric parking brake switch.
2. Depress the brake pedal.
u Make sure the transmission is in

1Turning on the Power
Keep your foot firmly on the brake pedal when
starting the power system.
The engine is harder to st art in cold weather and in
thinner air found at altitudes above 8,000 feet (2,400
meters).
When turning on the power system in cold weather,
turn off all electrical accessories such as the lights,
climate control system, and rear defogger in order to
reduce 12-volt battery drain.
If you live in a region where winter is extremely cold,
an engine block heater and transmission clutch
actuator heater will impr ove starting and warming of
the engine. Consult a dealer for details.
If the exhaust system sounds abnormal or you can
smell exhaust gas inside the vehicle, have your vehicle
checked by a dealer. There may be a problem with
the engine or exhaust system.

1Remote Engine Start with Vehicle Feedback
While the power system is on, the vehicle will
automatically preconditi on inside the vehicle.
When it is warm outside:
•The air conditioning is acti vated in recirculation
mode.
•The seat ventilation is activated*.
When it is cold outside:
•The defroster is activated at a moderately warm
temperature.
•The rear defogger and door mirror heaters are
activated.
•The seat heaters and heated steering wheel are
activated*.
