54Seats, restraints
Raise the locking catches, then movethe seat unit towards the rear to
release from the rear floor anchor
points.
Raise the seat unit, then move it
towards the rear again to release from
the front floor anchor points. The seat unit can then be lifted out.
The seats must be removed through
the sliding side door only (not through
the rear doors/tailgate). The 2nd row
seats must be removed from the
vehicle before the 3rd row seats.
Installing rear seats
When re-installing seats, always
ensure that the row with the folding
access seat B is positioned correctly
in front of the fixed seat row A.
The seats must be introduced
through the sliding side door only (not
through the rear doors/tailgate). The
3rd row seats must be introduced into the vehicle before the 2nd row seats.
Caution
The 2nd and 3rd row seats are not
interchangeable and must be fitted back into their original position.
Note
Make sure that the anchor points are
clean before installing the seat. They should be free from grit or any other
item which may prevent the seat
from locking securely.
Position the seat unit over the front
anchor points, then push the seat unit
until it sits over the rear anchor points.
Lower the locking catches and push
them until they are locked securely in place. Ensure that the visual markers
on the locking catches are correctly
aligned.
156Driving and operatingCaution
Performance of the sensors can
be reduced when sensors are
covered, e.g. by ice or snow.
Performance of the parking assist
system can be reduced due to
heavy loading.
Special conditions apply if there
are taller vehicles involved (e.g.
off-road vehicles, mini vans,
vans). Object identification in the
upper part of these vehicles
cannot be guaranteed.
Objects with a very small reflection
cross-section, e.g. objects of
narrow size or soft materials, may
not be detected by the system.
The parking assist system will not
detect objects which are out of the detection range of the sensors.
Rear view camera
The rear view camera assists the
driver when reversing by displaying a view of the area behind the vehicle in
either the interior mirror or the
Infotainment system display screen.
9 Warning
The rear view camera does not
replace driver vision. Note that
objects that are outside the
camera's field of view, e.g. below
the bumper or underneath the
vehicle, are not displayed.
Do not reverse the vehicle by only looking at the display and checkthe surrounding area behind and
around the vehicle before
reversing.
The camera is mounted above the
rear doors/tailgate.
The area displayed by the camera is
limited. The distance of the image that
appears on the display differs from
the actual distance.
Note
To achieve the optimum visibility, the rear view camera must not be
obscured by dirt, snow or ice.
Activation
Interior mirror display screen
Rear view camera display is
automatically activated when reverse
gear is engaged. An audible signal
confirms activation.
158Driving and operating● ice, snow, mud, or anything elsecovers the camera lens. Clean
the lens, rinse it with water, and
wipe it with a soft cloth
● the rear doors/tailgate are not closed correctly
● the vehicle had a rear-end accident
● there are extreme temperature changesFuel
Fuel for diesel engines
Only use diesel fuel that complies
with EN 590. The fuel must have low
sulphur content (max. 10 ppm).
Equivalent standardised fuels with a
biodiesel (= FAME according to
EN14214) content of max. 7% by
volume (like DIN 51628 or equivalent
standards) may be used.
In countries outside the European
Union, use Euro-Diesel fuel with a
sulphur concentration below 50 ppm.Caution
Use of fuel that does not comply to EN 590 or similar can lead to
engine powerloss, increased wear
or engine damage and loss of
warranty.
Do not use marine diesel oils, heating
oils, Aquazole and similar diesel-
water emulsions. Diesel fuels must
not be diluted with fuels for petrol
engines.
The flow and filterability of diesel fuels are temperature-dependent. When
temperatures are low, refuel with
diesel fuel with guaranteed winter
properties.
Diesel fuel filter 3 171, diesel fuel
system bleeding 3 171.
Refuelling9 Danger
Before refuelling, switch off engine
and any external heaters with
combustion chambers.
Vehicles with stop-start system:
The engine must be switched off
and the ignition key removed, to avoid risk of engine being
restarted automatically by the
system.
Switch off any mobile phones.
Follow the operating and safety
instructions of the filling station
when refuelling.
