*1: These lights turn on when the power switch is turned to ON mode to indicate that a
system check is being performed. They will turn off after the hybrid system is on, or
after a few seconds. There may be a malfunction in a system if the lights do not turn on,
or turn off. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
*2: The light flashes to indicate a malfunction.

The daytime running lights

The side marker, parking,
tail, license plate, daytime

turn on.
The headlights and all the
lights listed above (except
daytime running lights) turn
on.
The headlights, side marker,
parking lights, daytime run-

on turn on and off automati-
cally (when the power
switch is in ON mode).
With the headlights on, push the
lever away from you to turn on the
high beams.
Pull the lever toward you to the center
position to turn the high beams off.
Pull the lever toward you and release
it to flash the high beams once.
You can flash the high beams with the
headlights on or off.
■Daytime running light system
To make your vehicle more visible to other drivers during daytime driving, the daytime
running lights turn on automatically whenever the hybrid system is started and the park-
ing brake is released with the headlight swit ch off or in the “AUTO” position. (Illuminate
brighter than the parking lights.) Daytime ru nning lights are not designed for use at night.
For the U.S.A.: Daytime running lights can be turned off by operating the switch.

Vehicles with halogen headlights
You may replace the following bulbs by yourself. The difficulty level of replace-
ment varies depending on the bulb. If necessary bulb replacement seems diffi-
cult to perform, contact your Lexus dealer.
For more information about replacing other light bulbs, contact your Lexus
dealer.

■Headlight high beams (halogen headlights)
For the right side only: Move the
washer fluid filler opening.
Unplug the connector while
pressing the lock release.
Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
Set the new light bulb.
Align the 3 tabs on the light bulb with
the mounting, and insert. Turn it
clockwise to set.

Set the connector.
After installing the connector, shake
the bulb base gently to check that it is
not loose, turn the headlight high
beams on once and visually confirm
that no light is leaking through the
mounting.
For the right side only: Reinstall the washer fluid filler opening.
■Headlight high beams (LED headlights)Turn the cover counterclockwise
and remove it.
Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
Unplug the connector while pull-
ing the lock release.

Replace the light bulb, and install
the bulb base.
Align the 3 tabs on the light bulb with
the mounting, and insert.
Turn and secure the bulb base.
Shake the bulb base gently to check
that it is not loose, turn the headlight
high beams on once and visually
confirm that no light is leaking
through the mounting.
When installing the cover, conduct step in reverse.
■Halogen fog light (if equipped)
Remove 2 screws, a bolt and clip,
and pull down the fender liner.
Pull the fender liner down slowly,
being careful not to dislodge any
fixed components.

Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
Remove the light bulb.
■Replacing the following bulbs
If any of the lights listed below has burnt out, have it replaced by your Lexus
dealer.
