2016 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE key fob

The memory seat switch is located on the driver’s door trim panel. The switch
consists of three buttons:
• The (S) button, which is used to activate the memory save function.
• The (1) and (2) buttons which are used to recall either of two pre-programmedmemory profiles.
Programming The Memory Feature
NOTE:
To create a new memory profile, perform
the following:
1. Cycle the vehicles ignition to the ON/ RUN position (Do not start the en-
gine).
2. Adjust all memory profile settings to desired preferences (i.e., seat, side
mirror, power tilt and telescopic steer-
ing column [if equipped], and radio
station presets).
3. Push and release the S (Set) button on the memory switch.
4. Within five seconds, push and release either of the memory buttons (1) or (2). The Driver Information Display (DID) will display which memory position has been set.
NOTE:
• Memory profiles can be set without the vehicle in PARK, but the vehicle must be in PARK to recall a memory profile.
• To set a memory profile to your RKE transmitter, refer to “Linking And Unlinking The Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter To Memory” in this section.
Linking And Unlinking The Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter To Memory
Your RKE transmitters can be programmed to recall one of two pre-programmed
memory profiles by pushing the UNLOCK button on the RKE transmitter.
NOTE:
Before programming your RKE transmitters you must select the “Memory To FOB”
feature through the Uconnect system screen. Refer to “Uconnect Settings ” in
“Understanding Your Instrument Panel” in the Owners Manual on the DVD for further
information.
To program your RKE transmitters, perform the following:
1. Cycle the vehicles ignition to the OFF position.
2. Select a desired memory profile (1) or (2).

Pinch Protection Feature
This feature will detect an obstruction in the opening of the sunroof during Express
Close operation. If an obstruction in the path of the sunroof is detected, the sunroof
will automatically retract. Remove the obstruction if this occurs. Next, push the
switch forward and release to Express Close.
NOTE:
If three consecutive sunroof close attempts result in Pinch Protect reversals, the
fourth close attempt will be a Manual Close movement with Pinch Protect disabled.
WARNING!
• Do not let children play with the sunroof. Never leave children unattended in avehicle, or with access to an unlocked vehicle. Do not leave the Key Fob in or
near the vehicle, and do not leave the ignition of a vehicle equipped with
Keyless Enter-N-Go in the ACC or ON/RUN mode. Occupants, particularly
unattended children, can become entrapped by the power sunroof while
operating the power sunroof switch. Such entrapment may result in serious
injury or death.
• In a collision, there is a greater risk of being thrown from a vehicle with an open
sunroof. You could also be severely injured or killed. Always fasten your seat
belt properly and make sure all passengers are properly secured.
• Do not allow small children to operate the sunroof. Never allow your fingers,
other body parts, or any object to project through the sunroof opening. Injury
may result.
WIND BUFFETING
Wind buffeting can be described as a helicopter-type percussion sound. If buffeting
occurs with the rear windows open, adjust the front and rear windows together.
If buffeting occurs with the sunroof open, adjust the sunroof opening, or adjust any
window. This will minimize buffeting.

If you must use the accessories (wipers, defrosters, etc.) while being towed, the
ignition must be in the ON/RUN position, not the ACC position.
If the key fob is unavailable, or the vehicle's battery is discharged, refer to “Manual
Park Release” in this section for instructions on shifting the transmission out of
PARK for towing.
CAUTION!
• Do not use sling type equipment when towing. Vehicle damage may occur.
• When securing the vehicle to a flat bed truck, do not attach to front or rearsuspension components. Damage to your vehicle may result from improper
towing.
Two-Wheel Drive Models
The manufacturer recommends towing your vehicle with all four wheels OFFthe
ground using a flatbed.
If flatbed equipment is not available, and the transmission is operable, the vehicle
may be towed (with rear wheels on the ground) under the following conditions:
• The transmission must be in NEUTRAL. Refer to "Manual Park Release" in this section for instructions on shifting the transmission to NEUTRAL when the engine
is off.
• The towing speed must not exceed 30 mph (48 km/h).
• The towing distance must not exceed 30 miles (48 km).
If the transmission is not operable, or the vehicle must be towed faster than 30 mph
(48 km/h) or farther than 30 miles (48 km), tow with the rear wheels OFFthe ground.
Acceptable methods are to tow the vehicle on a flatbed, or with the front wheels
raised and the rear wheels on a towing dolly, or (when using a suitable steering wheel
stabilizer to hold the front wheels in the straight position) with the rear wheels raised
and the front wheels on the ground.
CAUTION!
Towing faster than 30 mph (48 km/h) or farther than 30 miles (48 km) with rear
wheels on the ground can cause severe transmission damage. Damage from
improper towing is not covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
