Rear Parking Aid*
The rear sensors are active only when the
transmission is in reverse (R). As your
vehicle moves closer to the obstacle, the
rate of the audible warning increases.
The system detects certain objects while
the transmission is in reverse (R) and the
vehicle is traveling at a speed of 3 mph
(5 km/h) or less.
The system can be switched off through
the information display. See the Parking
Aids chapter of your Owner’s Manual
for details.
Blind Spot
Information System (BLIS®) *
BLIS aids you in detecting vehicles that
may have entered the blind spot zone.
The detection area is on both sides of
the vehicle, extending rearward from
the exterior mirrors to approximately
13 feet (4 meters) beyond the bumper.
The system alerts you if certain vehicles
enter the blind spot zone while driving.
See the Driving Aids chapter of your
Owner’s Manual for details.
Cross Traffic Alert*
Cross traffic alert warns you of vehicles
approaching from the sides when the
transmission is in reverse (R). The system
illuminates an amber alert indicator in
the outside mirror on the side of your
vehicle the approaching vehicle is coming
from. Cross Traffic Alert also sounds an
audible alert and a message appears in the
information display indicating a vehicle
is coming from the right or left. This
system also works with the reverse sensing
system that sounds its own series of tones.
See the Driving Aids chapter of your
Owner’s Manual for details.
Note: Visibility aids do not replace
the need to watch where the vehicle is
moving. Refer to the Owner’s Manual
for safety information, more details and
system limitations.

Collision Warning System*
This system is designed to alert you of certain collision risks.
A radar detects if your vehicle is rapidly approaching another
vehicle traveling in the same direction as yours. If it is, a
red warning light illuminates and an audible warning
chime sounds.
The brake support system assists the driver in reducing the
collision speed by charging the brakes. If the risk of collision
further increases after the warning light illuminates, the
brake support prepares the brake system for rapid braking.
This may be apparent to the driver. The system does not
automatically activate the brakes, but if the driver presses the
brake pedal, full force braking is applied even if the driver
lightly presses the brake pedal.
You can adjust the warning system sensitivity to one of three
possible settings through the information display control.
See the Driving Aids chapter in your Owner’s Manual
for details.
Traction Control
The system automatically turns on each time you switch the
ignition on. If your vehicle is stuck in mud or snow, switching
traction control off may be beneficial as this allows the wheels
to spin.
The switch for the stability and traction control system is on
the instrument panel. When you switch the system off, a message and an illuminated
icon appear on the instrument cluster.
Use the switch again to return the traction control system to
normal operation.
Note: When you switch traction control off, stability control
remains fully active.
AdvanceTrac™
The system automatically activates when you start your
engine. The electronic stability control portion of the
system disables when the transmission is in reverse (R),
or on some models, if you press and hold the stability control
button for more than five seconds when you apply the
brakes and the vehicle is at a stop. You can switch off the
traction control portion of the system independently. See
the Stability Control chapter of your Owner’s Manual
for details.
Pony Projection Lights*
The lights are on the bottom of the mirror housings.
This feature projects an image onto the ground a short
distance from the vehicle with the illuminated entry and
exit feature.

Fuel Tank Capacity
Depending on your engine size and type, your fuel tank size can vary. When
equipped with the 2.3L EcoBoost engine, your vehicle has a 15.5 gallon
(58.8L) fuel tank capacity. The 3.7L and 5.0L 32V Ti-VCT engines include a
16 gallon (60.6L) fuel tank capacity.
To provide improved performance, we suggest premium fuel. We
recommend regular unleaded gasoline with a pump (R+M)/2 octane rating \
of 87. Do not use E85 fuels because your vehicle was not designed to run\
on fuels with more than 15% ethanol.
Easy Fuel® System
With this system, stop your vehicle and put it into park (P). Switch the
ignition off. Push to open the fuel door, insert the nozzle and begin fueling.
Wait at least 10 seconds before removing the nozzle from the vehicle to
allow any residual fuel in the nozzle to drain into the fuel tank. When \
using a portable fuel container, slowly insert the fuel funnel (located in the
spare tire compartment), and pour the fuel into the funnel.
Note: Do not use aftermarket funnels as they do not work with the Easy
Fuel system and may cause damage. Properly clean the funnel after
each use.
Car Cleaning Tips
Do not use chemical solvents or strong detergents when cleaning the
steering wheel, instrument panel or seats. See the Vehicle Care chapter in
your Owner’s Manual for details.
Temporary Mobility Kit*
This kit provides a temporary tire repair,
allowing you to drive your vehicle up to
120 mi (200 km) at a maximum speed of
50 mph (80 km/h) to reach a tire service
location. The kit, located under the
load floor in the luggage compartment,
includes an air compressor to re-inflate the
tire and a canister of sealing compound
that effectively seals most punctures
caused by nails or similar objects. Refer
to the Wheels and Tires chapter of your
Owner’s Manual for more information.
Note: This feature is not included with
the spare wheel and tire option.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Your vehicle
illuminates
a low tire
pressure
warning
light
in
your instrument cluster when one or
more of your tires are significantly
under-inflated.
You can use the left information display to view the Tire Pressure On-demand
screen. It displays your current individual
tire pressures. Refer to the Wheels and
Tires chapter of your Owner’s Manual for
more information.
Manual Transmission Lockout*
Your manual
transmission features
a lockout feature that
protects you from
accidentally moving
the transmission into
reverse (R). To shift
into reverse (R):
1. Press the clutch pedal to the floor to
disengage the clutch.
2. Raise the collar below the gearshift
knob up, then move the lever fully to
the left, then forward.
Note: If you have trouble engaging the
gear, return the gearshift to neutral (N)
and then release the clutch. Repeat steps
1 and 2.
