Intelligent Access Key (If Equipped)

Your intelligent access keys operate thepower locks and the remote start system.The key must be in your vehicle to activatethe push-button start system.
Mechanical Key Blade
The intelligent access key also contains aremovable mechanical key blade that youcan use to unlock the driver door.
Type 1
To release the mechanical key blade:
1.Press and hold the push buttons on theedges of the transmitter to release thecover. Carefully remove the cover.
2. Remove the key blade.

Intelligent Access Key (Type 1)
1. Press and hold the buttons on theedges to release the cover. Carefullyremove the cover.
2. Remove the key blade.
3. Twist the screwdriver in the positionshown to start separating the twohalves of the remote control.
4. Twist the screwdriver in the positionshown to separate the two halves ofthe remote control.
Note:Do not touch the battery contacts orthe printed circuit board with thescrewdriver.
5. Carefully remove the battery with thescrewdriver.
6. Install a new battery with the + facingdownward.
7.Assemble the two halves of the remotecontrol.
8. Install the key blade.

•Various vehicle speed minders can beset. Once you select a speed, it will beshown in the display, followed by anaudible tone when the preselectedvehicle speed is exceeded.
•Audio system maximum volume of45%. A message will be shown in thedisplay when you attempt to exceedthe limited volume. Also, thespeed-sensitive or compensatedautomatic volume control will bedisabled.
•Always on setting. When this isselected, you will not be able to turnoff Advance Trac or traction control (ifyour vehicle is equipped with thisfeature).
CREATING A MYKEY
Use the information display to create aMyKey:
1. Insert the key you want to program intothe ignition. If your vehicle is equipped witha push-button start, hold the intelligentaccess key next to the steering column.Details on the correct fob placement andposition is in another chapter. SeeStarting and Stopping the Engine (page129).
2. Switch the ignition on.
3. Access the main menu on theinformation display controls, and selectSettings and then MyKey by pressing OKor the > button.
4. Press OK or the > button to selectCreate MyKey.
5. When prompted, hold the OK buttonuntil you see a message informing you tolabel this key as a MyKey. The key will berestricted at your vehicle's next start.
MyKey is successfully created. Make sureyou label it so you can distinguish it fromthe admin keys.
You can also program configurablesettings for the key(s). Refer toProgramming/Changing ConfigurableSettings.
Programming/ChangingConfigurable Settings
Use the information display to access yourconfigurable MyKey settings:
1. Switch the ignition on using an adminkey or fob.
2. Access the main menu on theinformation display controls, and selectSettings, then MyKey by pressing OKor the > button.
3. Use the arrow buttons to get to aconfigurable feature.
4. Press OK or > to make a selection.
Note:You can clear or change your MyKeysettings at any time during the same keycycle as you created the MyKey. Once youhave switched the engine off, however, youwill need an admin key to change or clearyour MyKey settings.
CLEARING ALL MYKEYS
You can clear or change your MyKeysettings using the information displaycontrol on the steering wheel. SeeInformation Displays (page 93).

LOCKING AND UNLOCKING
You can use the power door lock controlor the remote control to lock and unlockyour vehicle.
Power Door Locks
The power door lock control is on the driverand front passenger door panels.

An LED on the instrument panel will lightwhen you lock the doors. It is not afunctional control.
Remote Control
Unlocking the Doors (Two-StageUnlock)
Type 1
Press the button to unlock thedriver door.
Type 2
Press the button to unlock thedriver door.
Press the button again within threeseconds to unlock all doors. The turnsignals will flash.
Press and hold both the lock and unlockbuttons on the remote control for fourseconds to disable or enable two-stageunlocking. Disabling two-stage unlockingallows all vehicle doors to unlock with onepress of the button. The turn signals willflash twice to indicate a change to theunlocking mode. The unlocking modeapplies to the remote control andintelligent access.
Intelligent access at the driver door willunlock all doors when you disabletwo-stage unlocking.
Locking the Doors
Type 1
Press the button to lock all thedoors. The turn signals willilluminate.
Type 2
Press the button to lock all thedoors. The turn signals willilluminate.
Press the button again within threeseconds to confirm that all the doors areclosed. The doors will lock again, the hornwill sound and the turn signals will flash ifall the doors and the luggagecompartment are closed.
Note:If locking was not successful or anydoor or the liftgate is open, or if the hood isopen on vehicles with a perimeter alarm orremote start, the horn will sound twice andthe lamps will not flash.

Left Information Display Controls

•Press and hold the left arrow button atany time to return to the main menudisplay (escape button).

Fuel Economy (Energi only)
This display is only available in HybridMode. In Plug-in Power Mode the displaychanges to Miles (or km)/Full Charge.
An Instant Fuel Economy gauge is providedalong with Avg Fuel Economy. Whileviewing this screen you can reset youraverage fuel economy by pressing andholding the OK button on the left handsteering wheel controls. For moreinformation see Common Displays in thischapter.
Trip 1 & 2
Provides trip odometer, trip average fueleconomy and trip timer.
Distance traveled on battery power onlywith the engine off is shown in blue nextto total trip distance.
For Energi vehicles total plug-in electricityused in kilowatt hours (kWh) is shown inblue next to trip average fuel economy.
Info
In this mode, you can viewdifferent vehicle systeminformation and perform asystem check.

Efficiency Leaves
Efficiency leaves indicate short term drivingefficiency measured over the last fewminutes. The more leaves and vines thatappear on the display, the better your fueleconomy. Leaves and vines willoccasionally appear and disappear toindicate a change in your driving efficiency.
Fuel History
From left to right this view includes aninstantaneous fuel economy gauge,historical fuel economy data and averagefuel economy. The historical datarepresents an average over time intervalsof either 1, 2 or 6 minutes, with the leftmostinterval being the most recent. Shown atthe bottom of the view is the total time
duration for the 5 intervals. You can selecttotal duration in the options menu.Intervals shown in grey color are from theprevious drive. The blue horizontal linerepresents the average fuel economy valueshown to the right.
Note:Hold OK to reset average fueleconomy.
Coach
This view provides a comparison of yourrecent acceleration, braking and cruisingbehavior, then recommends the mostefficient use of energy under presentconditions. The horizontal bars fill from leftto right with best behavior and appear bluewhen at least half full. When the bars areless than half full, the color is amber,suggesting that you need a change in yourdriving behavior to achieve better energyefficiency.
