Instruments and indicator lights
@ Tips
-If the data are deleted in the effic iency pro­
gram, those va lues are also reset in trip
computer.
- Once you have turned a fue l economy mes­
sage off, it will only appear again after you
turn the ign ition on again.
- The fuel economy messages are not dis­
played in every instance, but rather in inter­
vals over a period of time.
Odometer

The odometer shows you how many miles (kilo­
meters) you have driven. You can switch the dis­
play from miles to kilometers and vice versa via
the MMI.
Upper odometer
The trip odometer shows the distance driven
since it was last reset. It can be used to measure
short distances. The last dig it indicates 1/10 of a
mile (100 meters) .
You can reset the trip odometer to zero by press­
ing the Reset button~-
Lower odometer
The lower odometer shows the total numbe r of
miles (kilometers) driven.
Malfunction message
If there is a malfunct ion in the instrument clus­
ter,
DEF w ill appear in the trip odometer display
area . Contact you r a uth orized Aud i dea ler to have
the prob lem corrected .

When you open the driver's door, the date and
time appear in the instrument cluster display for
30 seconds . When the ign ition is switched on,
the time is always displayed in the status line©
regardless of the current disp lay.
You can set the time on both clocks and the date display in the MMI. Refer to the MMI owner's
manual for instructions .
Service interval display
The service interval display reminds you when
your next service is due .

The service interval display works in two stages:
-Inspection or oil change reminder: After a
specified number of miles, a message appears
in the instrument cluster display when switch­
ing the ignition on or off¢

-Vehicles with a pass through in the center
console have seating for four. The long cen­
ter console between the two rear seats is
not a seating position . Therefore, a safety
belt is not provided .
- Applies to vehicles with reclining rear seat*:
- Do not use the front passenger's seat for
seating when it is in the reclining position.
This increases the risk of serious injury or
death .
- Never adjust the reclining position when
the front passenger 's seat is occupied .
This increases the risk of injury.
- Do not tilt the display if the driver's view
of the right exterior mirror will be ob­
structed .
- Make sure the area between the leg sup­
port and the front passenger's seat back­
rest is clear before folding the leg support in so that you are not pinched.
(D Note
If a child seat is attached to one of the rear
seats, this seat must not be adjusted using
the power controls under any circumstances.
The easy entry function for this seat must also
be deactivated in the MMI
c:> page 64. The
child seat as well as the rear seat can be dam ­
aged by the adjustment process .
(!) Tips
The massage function switches off automati­
cally after approximately
10 minutes .
- If you cannot move the front passenger seat
or the reclining rear seat, it may be because
- the front passenger's seat memory func­
tion is switched off¢
page 66 or
- the child safety lock is switched on (the~
button ¢
page 40 or the right T button
c::> page 40 lights up in the driver's door),
or
- the front passenger seat adjustment is
switched off in the MMI
c:> page 64.

Massage function remote control
Applies to: vehicles with reclining rear seat and massage
functio n

The remote controls are located in the rear cen­
ter console

switched on.
.,. To open the remote control compartment,
press the left button and fold the center arm­ rest upward.
.,. To adjust the massage type, press the appropri­
ate button @-@ . The L ED in the button will
turn on .
.,. To adjust the speed/intensity, turn the thumb­
wheel @I® . The LEDs indicate the speed/in­
tensity.
.,. Press the selected massage type again to
switch the massage function off.

Description
Applies to: vehicles with memory function
The memory functio n allows you to quickly and
eas ily store and recall personal seating profi les
for the driver, front passenger and outer rear
seats* . The memory function is operated through
the master key and the memory buttons in the
driver's/front passenger's doors and the rear
doors".
The driver's seating profi le is stored and assigned
to the master key each time the vehicle is locked.

Memory buttons

The memory buttons are located in the driver's/
front passenger's door and in the rear doors*.
Switch ing the memory function on /off
• Press the IOFFI button to switch the memory
function on/off. The LED in the button illumi­
nates when the memory funct ion is switched
off. Seating profiles are neither stored nor re­
called .
Storing a seating profile
• Press the ISETI button . When the word SET
lights up, the memory is ready to store set­
tings.
• Press a memory button briefly. A tone confirms
that the settings were stored .
Accessing a seating profile
• If the driver's door is open and the ignit ion is
switched off, press the memory button .
• If the driver's door is closed or the ignition is
switched on, press and hold the memory but­
ton until the seat adjustment is complete.
A WARNING
-For safety reasons, the seat setting should
only be recalled when the vehicle is station­
ary -otherwise you r isk having an accident.
- If necessary, you stop the process by press ­
ing the
IOFF I button or any of the memory
buttons.

MMI

Adjusting the front passenger seat from the
driver's side
• Select: I CAR I function button > Car systems
control button > Vehicle settings > Seats >
Front passenger seat> Adjust seat position .
• You can now adjust the front passenger seat
using the buttons on the driver's seat
¢page 59, fig. 59 .
Matching the position of the driver's seat
• To adjust the front passenger seat to match the
driver's seat settings, select the
I CAR I function
button
> Car systems control button > Vehicle
settings > Seats > Front passenger seat> Sym­
metry to driver seat.
• Press and hold the control knob unti l the ad­
justment process is complete.
@ Tips
When matching seat settings, the settings for
the lumbar support and seating surface w ill
not transfer to the front passenger's seat.

Luggage compartment

The luggage compartment net prevents small
objects from sliding .

Storing cargo correctly .
In a collision, the laws of physics mean that even
smaller items that are loose in the vehicle will
turn into heavy missi les that can cause serious in­
j ury . Items in the vehicle pick up k inetic energy
which var ies with the vehicle and the weight of
the item. Veh icle speed is the most s ignificant
fuctor .

As a result of the increased wind resistance
created by a roof rack, your vehicle is using
fuel unnecessarily. So remove the roof rack
after using it .
12-volt sockets

Electrical accessories can be connected to every
12-volt socket.

A WARNING
The sockets and the electrical accessories con·
nected to them operate only when the igni­
tion is switched on . Incorrect usage can lead
to se rious injuries or burns . To reduce the risk
of injuries, never leave children unattended in
the vehicle with the vehicle key.
(D Note
To avoid damagi ng the socket, on ly use plugs
that fit p roperly.
- Never connect equipment that generates
electrical current, such as a solar panel or
battery charger, to the 12 vo lt socket. This
cou ld damage the vehicle's elec trical sys­
tem.
- The 12 volt socket should o nly be used for a
short period of t ime as a powe r sour ce for
electrical equipment . Please use the electri­
cal sockets in the vehicle when connect ing
equipment for longer per iods .
@ Tips
When the engine is off and accessories are
still p lugged in and are on, the veh icle battery
can still be drained .
