The windshield may not be trea ted with wa
ter-repelling windshield coating agents. Un
favorable cond itions such as wetness, dark
ness, or low sun can result in increased glare.
Wiper blade chatter is also possible.

connectors in water.
- The charging system m ust only be cleaned
when the control unit is completely d is

Improper use of the vehicle jack can cause se

- Never use the screw driver hex head to
tighten wheel bolts, since the bolts cannot
atta in the necessary tightening torque if you
use the hex head, potentially caus ing an ac

for your vehicle model. Under no circum
stances should it be used to
lift heavy

- Never start the engine when the vehicle is

The tire repair is only meant for temporary use.
Change the spare tire as soon as possible <=>,&. .
If the t ire is p ierced by an object such as a nail,
do not remove the object from the tire.
The tire repair set is ab le to be used at tempera
tures as low as - 4 °F (- 20 °C).
The t ire mobility kit may not be us ed:
- if the ti re has cuts or punctures that are larger
than

-if the rim is damaged @.
- if you drove with very low t ire pressure or with-
out air in the tire @.

Service Facility for assistance in these situations .

General information

The spare tire ¢ fig. 221 is intended for sho rt
term use only . Have the damaged tire checked
and replaced if necessary by an authorized Aud i
dealer or authori zed Audi Service Facility as soon
as possible .
There are some restrictions on the use of the compact spare tire . The compact spare tire has
been designed specif ica lly for your type of vehi
cle . Do not replace it with the spare tire from an
other type of vehicle.

Snow chains
For technical reasons, the use of snow chains on
the compact spare tire is not permitted.
If you have to drive with snow chains and a front
tire fails, mount the spare wheel in p lace of a
rear tire . Install the snow chains on the rear tire
that you removed , and install that in place of the
front t ire that fai led .

-After installing a spare tire, the t ire pres-
sure must be checked as soon as possible .

use it only in an emergency and with ex
treme ca ution and careful driving.
- The spare tire is intended only fo r tempora

It should be replaced
as soon as poss ible with the normal whee l

- After moun ting the compact spare tire, the
tire pressure must be checked as soon as possible. The tire press ure of the compact
spare tire must be 61 ps i (420 kPA); other
wise, you risk having an accident .
- Do not drive faster than 50 mph (80 km/h).

Emergency assistance
-Avoid full-throttle acceleration, heavy brak
ing, and fast cornering. You risk having an
accident.
- Never dr ive using more than one spare
wheel and tire. You risk having an accident.
- Normal summer or winter tires must not be
mounted on the compact spare wheel rim.
- For technical reasons, the use of tire chains
on the spare tire is not permitted. If it is
necessary to drive with tire chains, the spare
wheel must be mounted on the front axle in
the event of a flat in a rear tire. The newly
available front wheel must then be installed
in place of the rear wheel with the flat tire.
Installing the tire chain before mounting
the wheel and tire is recommended.
- Loose items in the passenger compartment
can cause serious personal injury during
hard braking or in an acciden t. Never store
the inflatable spa re tire or jack and tools in
the passenger compartment.
- Normal summer or winter tires must not be
mounted on the compact spare wheel rim .
