The driver can control all power windows.

All power window switches are equipped with a
two-stage function :
Opening the windows
• Press the switch to the first stop and hold it un­
til the window reaches the desired position.
• To open the w indow completely, press the
switch down to the
second level briefly.
Closing the windows
• Pull the switch to the first stop and hold it until
the window reaches the desired posit ion.
• To close the window completely, pull the
switch up to the
second level briefly.

A WARNING
-Always take the vehicle key with you when
leaving the vehicle, even for a short period
of time. This applies particularly when chil­
dren remain in the vehicle. Otherwise they
could start the engine or operate electrical
equipment such as power windows. The
power windows continue to function until
the driver's door or front passenger's door
has been opened .

-Pay carefu l attention when closing the win­
dows. It could cause injury by pinch ing.
- When locking the vehicle from o utside, the
vehicle must be unoccupied since the win­
dows can no longer be opened in an emer­
gency.
{!) Tips
After turning the ignition off you can still
open and close the windows for approximate­
ly 10 seconds . The power windows are not
switched off until the driver's door or front
passenger's door has been opened .
Convenience opening
All of the windows and the sunroof* can be
opened at once .
The settings in the Infotainment system specify
which windows will open.
Convenience opening
• Press and hold the~ button on the remote
control key until the windows reach their de­
sired position and the sunroof * is tilted open.

• Select: the I CARI funct ion button > (Car)* Sys­
tems
contro l button > Vehicle settings > Cen­
tral locking
> Long-press to open windows.
To enable convenience opening of the windows
and the roof *, the
Front windows, Rear windows
and Roof functions must be switched On .
A WARNING
-
For security reasons, the windows and the
sunroof* can only be opened with the remote
control key at a maximum distance of approx­
imately 6 feet (2 meters) from the vehicle.

Correcting power window malfunctions
After disconnecting the vehicle battery, the one­
touch up and down feature must be activated
again .
.,. Pull the powe r window switch until the window
is completely ra ised.
.,. Release the switch and pull it aga in for at least
one second.
Valet parking
The valet parking feature protects the luggage
compartment from unauthorized access .

Opening and closing
The vehicle can be driven and locked and un­
locked with the master key. Access to the lug­
gage compartment is blocked.
When the valet parking function is switched on ,
the message
Valet parking activated appears in
the instrument cluster display when you switch
the ignition on .

The sun shade can be opened and closed by hand
when the roof is closed. The sun shade opens au­
tomatically when the roof is opened.
You can still operate the sliding/tilt ing sunroof
for about 10 minutes after the ignition is switch­
ed off. The switch is deactivated once the driver's
or front passenger 's door is opened.
A WARNING
Pay careful attent ion when closing the slid­
ing/t ilting sunroof -otherw ise ser ious injury
cou ld result! Always take the ign ition key with
you when leaving the vehicle .
@ Note
Always close your sliding/tilting sunroof when
leaving your veh icle. Sudden ra in can cause
damage to the interior equ ipment of your ve­
hicle, particularly the electron ic equ ipment.

-The sunroof will only open down to -20 °C
(-4 °F) .
Sunroof power emergency closing
-
If the sunroof detects an object in its path whe n
it is clos ing, it w ill open again automatically. In
this case, you can close the roof with the power
emergency closing function .
~ Within five seconds afte r the sunroof opens au­
tomat ica lly, pull the switch unt il the roof
closes.
I f you let go of the sw itch early, the sunroof will
open aga in.

You can act ivate various systems such as garage
doors, security systems and home lighting from inside your vehicle using the garage door opener
(Homelink) . There are three buttons for th is in
the veh icle headliner that can be in used in place
of up to three hand-held transmitters .
To operate systems using the garage door open­
er, the three buttons in the roof headliner must be programmed first .
A WARNING
Make sure no people or objects are in the im­
mediate vicinity of the equipment when using
or p rogramming the garage door opener. Peo­
ple can be injured and objects can be dam­
aged if they are caught in the equipment .

you clear the prog rammed buttons before

Preventative passenger
protection
A pp lies to ve hicles : w ith Audi p re se nse
Pre sense can initiate steps to protect vehicle oc­
cupants in certain dangerous situations. The
functions described are available depending on
veh icle equipment :
Pre sense basic*
The following functions can be triggered in cer­
tain driving situations:
- Tensioning of the safety belts (for example,
during heavy braking): The front safety belts
have reversible belt pretensioners. If a collision
does not occur, the safety belts loosen slightly
and are ready to trigger again .
- Closing the windows and the sunroof* (for ex­
ample, when
over-or understeering): The door
windows and the sunroof* are closed almost
completely until only a small gap is open .
Audi pre sense basic functions can be triggered at
speeds
above 20 mph (30 km/h).
Drive select : The dep loyment time is adapted in
Dynamic mode.
Pre sense front (vehicles with adaptive cruise
control*}
Pre sense front contains the functions of pre
sense basic . In addition, the likelihood of a rear­
end collision with the vehicle ahead is also calcu­
lated, within the limits of the system. If the risk
of a collision is detected, the following functions
can trigger :
- Braking guard

- Closing the windows and the sunroof*
Pre sense rear (vehicles with side assist*)
Pre sense rear contains the functions of pre sense
bas ic. In addition, the likelihood of a rear-end
coll ision from the vehicle beh ind is also calculat­
ed, within the limits of the system. If the risk of a
collision is detected, the following functions can
trigger:

- Tensioning of the safety belts
- Closing the windows and the sunroof*
Pre sense plus*
Pre sense plus contains the functions of pre
sense front and pre sense rear .
Error message
Audi pre sense: Unavailable
Preventative passenger protection is not availa­
ble. Drive to your authorized Audi dealer or au­
thorized Audi Service Facility immediately to have
the malfunction corrected.
A WARNING
Pre sense cannot overcome natural physical
laws. It is a system designed to assist and it
cannot prevent a collision . Do not let the in­
creased safety provided tempt you into taking
risks. This could increas e your risk of a colli­
sion.
- The system can deploy incorrectly .
- Please note that the sensors do not always
detect all objects . This increases the risk of
a collision .
- Pre sense does not react to people or ani­
mals or objects that are crossing the vehi­
cle 's path or are difficult to detect

- Reflective objects such as guard rails or the
entrance to a tunnel, heavy rain and ice can
affect the function of the radar sensors and
the system's ability to detect a collision risk.
(D Note
The sensors can be displaced by impacts or
damage to the bumper, wheel housing and
underbody. Pre sense can be impaired by this.
Have an authorized Aud i dealer or authorized
Audi Service Facility check their function.

-Certain pre sense front functions switch off
when sport mode is switched off or when
driving in reverse.

Care and cleaning
General information
Regular, proper care helps to maintain your vehi­
cle's value.
It can a lso be a requirement when
submitting warranty claims for corrosion damage
and paint defects on the body.
The necessary care products can be obtained
from your authorized Audi dealer. Read and fol­ l ow the instructions for use on the packaging.
A WARNING
- Using clean ing and care products incorrectly
can be dangerous to your health.
-Always store cleaning and care products out of reach of chi ldren to reduce the r isk of po i­
soning .
@) For the sake of the environment
- Preferably use environmentally-friendly
products when buying cleaning agents.
- Do not dispose of leftover cleaning and care
products with household trash.
Car washes
The longer that deposits remain on the vehicle,
the mor e the surface may b e damaged . High
temperatures such as those caused by sunlight
increase the damag ing effect.
Before washing, rinse off heavy deposits with
p lenty of water .
S tu bborn depos its s uch as bird d roppings or tree
sap are best removed with plenty of water and a
microfiber cloth.
A lso , wash the underside of yo ur vehicle once
road sa lt stops being used for the season.
Pressure washers
When washing your ve hicles w ith a pressure
washer, always follow the operating instructions
p rovided w ith the pressure washer. This is espe­
cially importa nt in regard to the pressu re and
sp raying distance . Do no t aim the sp ray directly
at seals on side windows, doors, the hood, the
rear lid or the sunroof * or at tires, rubber hoses,

insulating materia l, sensors* or camera lenses* .
Keep a distance of at least 16 inches (40 cm) .
Do no t remove snow and ice with a p ressure
washe r.
Never use rota ry nozzles or high pressure noz­
z les.
The water temperature must not be above 140 °F
(60 °().
Automat ic car washe s
Spray off t he vehicle before washing .
Make s ure that the windows and roo f* are closed
and the windsh ie ld wipers are off . Follow instruc ­
tions from the car wash operator, especially if
there are accessories attached to your vehicle .
If possible, use car washes that do not have
brushes .
Washing
by hand
Clean the vehicle starting from the top and work­
ing down using a soft sponge o r cleaning br ush.
U se solven t-free cleaning produ cts .
Washing vehicles with matte finish paint
by
hand
T o avo id damag ing the pa int w hen washi ng, fi rst
remove d ust and large p articl es from you r vehi­
cl e. Insects, grease spots and f ingerprints are
best removed with a special cleaner for matte
finish paint.
Apply t he p roduct using a microfiber cloth. To
avo id damag ing the pa int surfa ce, do not use too
much pressure.
Rinse the ve hicle thorough ly w ith wate r. Then
clean usi ng a neutral shampoo and a soft micro ­
fiber clo th .
Rinse the ve hicle thorough ly agai n and let it air
dry. Remove a ny wate r residue using a sham my .
A WARNING
- On ly wash the vehicle when the ign ition is
off and follow t he instr uctions from the car
wash operator to reduce the risk of acci ­
dents.
