Outside temperature display
■Operating conditions
The “POWER” switch is in ON mode.
■Display
In the following situations, the correct outside temperature may not be dis-
played, or the display may take longer than normal to change.
●When stopped, or driving at low speeds (less than 16 mph [25 km/h])
●When the outside temperature has changed suddenly (at the entrance/
exit of a garage, tunnel, etc.)
■When -- is displayed
The system may be malfunctioning. Take your vehicle to your Toyota dealer.
The displayed temperature ranges from -40°F (-40°C) up to 122°F
(50°C).

■Resetting the message indicating maintenance is required (U.S.A.
only)
After the required maintenance is performed according to the maintenance
schedule, please reset the message.
To r e s e t t h e d a t a , f o l l o w t h e p r o c e d u r e s d e s c r i b e d b e l o w :
Turn the “POWER” switch off with the trip meter A shown.
Turn the “POWER” switch to ON mode with the MPH or km/h button
( oP. 2 6 4 ) h e l d d o w n .
Keep pressing the button until the trip meter indicates “000000” and
the multi-information display indicates that the reset is complete.
■Allow inspection and repairs to be performed by a Toyota dealer

with the latest service information. They are well informed about the

If your vehicle needs to be towed
Situations when it is not possible to be towed by another vehicle
In the following situations, it is not possible to be towed by another
vehicle using cables or chains, as the front wheels may be locked
due to the parking lock. Contact your Toyota dealer or a commercial
towing service.
●There is a malfunction in the shift control system. ( oP. 5 5 2 )
●There is a malfunction in the immobilizer system. ( oP. 1 8 3 )
●There is a malfunction in the smart key system. ( oP. 5 9 9 )
●The 12-volt battery is discharged. ( oP. 6 0 1 )
Situations needs to contact dealers before towing
The following may indicate a problem with your hybrid transmission.
Contact your Toyota dealer or commercial towing service before tow-
ing.
●The “CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM” warning message appears on
the multi-information display and the vehicle does not move.
●The vehicle makes an abnormal sound.
If towing is necessary, we recommend having your vehicle towed by
your Toyota dealer or commercial towing service, using a lift-type
truck or flat bed truck.
Use a safety chain system for all towing, and abide by all state/pro-
vincial and local laws.

Stop the vehicle immediately.
A buzzer sounds and a warning message is shown on the multi-infor-
mation display. The following warnings indicate the possibility of dam-
age to the vehicle that may lead to an accident. Immediately stop the
vehicle in a safe place and contact your Toyota dealer.

Indicates an abnormal engine oil pressure.
The warning light may turn on if the engine oil pres-
sure is too low.
Indicates a malfunction in the hybrid system.

apply the parking brake securely.

●When the vehicle ahead is traveling at very low speed.
●Immediately after cruise control speed is set.
●At the instant the accelerator pedal is depressed.
