In addition to factory installed options, your
vehicle may also be equipped with additional
accessories installed by NISSAN or by your
NISSAN dealer prior to delivery. It is important
that you familiarize yourself with all disclosures,
warnings, cautions and instructions concerning
proper use of such accessories prior to operat-

The pretensioner systemmayactivate withthe supplemental
airbag system incertain typesof
collisions. Working withtheseat beltretractor, it
helps tighten theseat beltwhen thevehicle
becomes involvedincertain typesofcollisions,
helping torestrain frontseatoccupants.
The pretensioner isencased withtheseat belt
retractor. Theseseatbelts areused thesame
way asconventional seatbelts.
When apretensioner activates,smokeisre-
leased andaloud noise maybeheard. The
smoke isnot harmful anddoes notindicate a
fire. Care should betaken nottoinhale it,as it
may cause irritation andchoking. Thosewitha
history ofabreathing conditionshouldgetfresh
air promptly .
After pretensioner activation,loadlimiters allow
the seat belttorelease webbing (ifnecessary) to
reduce forcesagainst thechest.
The supplemental airbag warning light
is
used toindicate malfunctions inthe pretensioner
system. SeeªSupplemental airbag warning
lightº (P.1-52) .If the operation ofthe supple-
mental airbag warning lightindicates thereisa
malfunction, havethesystem checked bya
NISSAN dealer.
When selling yourvehicle, werequest thatyou
inform thebuyer about thepretensioner system
and guide thebuyer tothe appropriate sections
in this Owner's
Manual.

the All-Wheel Drive(AWD) warning lightwill
illuminate. Itwill turn offsoon aftertheengine is
started.
If the AWD system malfunctions orthe revolu-
tion orradius ofthe front andtherear wheel
differs, theAWD warning lightwilleither remain

Anti-lock BrakingSystem
(ABS) warning light

When theignition switchisin the ON position,
the Anti-lock BrakingSystem(ABS)warning
light illuminates andthen turns off.This indicates
the ABS isoperational.
If the ABS warning lightilluminates whilethe
engine isrunning, orwhile driving, itmay
indicate theABS isnot functioning properly.
Have thesystem checked byaNISSAN dealer.
If an ABS malfunction occurs,theanti-lock
function isturned off.The brake system then
operates normally,but without anti-lock assis-

necessary ,add fluid andhave thesystem

2. Ifthe brake fluidlevel iscorrect, havethe
warning systemchecked byaNISSAN

Anti-lock BrakingSystem(ABS)warning

brake fluidlevel issufficient, ifboth thebrake
warning lightandtheAnti-lock BrakingSystem

In freezing temperatures thewasher
solution mayfreeze onthe windshield

to an accident. Warmwindshield with
the defroster beforeyouwash the
windshield.
CAUTION
. Do not operate thewasher continu-
ously formore than30seconds.
. Do not operate thewasher ifthe
reservoir tankisempty.
. Do not fillthe window washer
reservoir tankwithwasher fluid
concentrates atfull strength. Some
methyl alcohol basedwasher fluid
concentrates maypermanently stain
the grille ifspilled whilefilling the
window washerreservoir tank.
. Pre-mix washerfluidconcentrates
with water tothe manufacturer's
recommended levelsbefore pouring
the fluid intothewindow washer reservoir
tank.Donot use the
window washerreservoir tankto
mix thewasher fluidconcentrate
and water.
If the windshield wiperoperation isinter-
rupted bysnow orice, thewiper maystop
moving toprotect itsmotor. Ifthis occurs,
turn thewiper switch tothe OFF position
and remove thesnow orice that ison and
around thewiper arms.Inapproximately 1
minute, turntheswitch onagain tooperate
the wiper.

in-cabin microfilter whichcollects dirt,pollen,
dust, etc.To make suretheairconditioner heats,
defogs, andventilates efficiently,replace the
filter according tothe specified maintenance log
shown inthe NISSAN ServiceandMaintenance
Guide. To replace thefilter, contact aNISSAN
dealer.
The filter should bereplaced ifthe airflow
decreases significantly orifwindows fog
up easily whenoperating theheater orair
conditioning system.
SERVICING AIRCONDITIONER

The airconditioner systeminyour NISSAN is
charged witharefrigerant designedwiththe
environment inmind. Thisrefrigerant willnot
harm theearth's ozonelayer.Special char-
ging equipment andlubricant arerequired when
servicing yourNISSAN airconditioner. Using
improper refrigerants orlubricants willcause
severe damage toyour airconditioner system.

environmentally friendlyairconditioner system.
WARNING
The system contains refrigerant under

the radio. Ifyou listen tothe radio withthe
engine notrunning, theignition switchshould be
placed inthe ACC position.
Radio reception isaffected bystation signal
strength, distancefromradio transmitter, build-
ings, bridges, mountains andother external
influences. Intermittent changesinreception
quality normally arecaused bythese external
influences.
Using acellular phoneinor near the
vehicle mayinfluence radioreception
quality.

state-of-the-art electroniccircuitstoenhance
radio reception. Thesecircuits aredesigned to
extend reception range,andtoenhance the
quality ofthat reception.

of both FMand AMradio signals thatcanaffect
radio reception qualityinamoving vehicle, even
when thefinest equipment isused. These
characteristics arecompletely normalinagiven
