The supplemental airbag warning light,display-
ing
in the instrument panel,monitors the
circuits forthe airbag systems, pretensioners
and allrelated wiring.
When theignition switchisin the ON position,
the supplemental airbag warning lightillumi-
nates forabout 7seconds andthen turns off.
This means thesystem isoperational.
If any ofthe following conditions occur,theair
bag and/or pretensioner systemsneedservi-
cing: .
The supplemental airbag warning light
remains onafter approximately 7seconds.
. The supplemental airbag warning light
flashes intermittently .
. The supplemental airbag warning lightdoes
not come onatall.
Under theseconditions, theairbag and/or
pretensioner systemsmaynotoperate properly.
They must bechecked andrepaired. Take your
vehicle tothe nearest NISSAN dealer.
WARNING
If the supplemental airbag warning
light ison, itcould mean thatthefront
air bag, sideairbag, curtain airbag
and/or pretensioner systemswillnot
operate inan accident. To help avoid
injury toyourself orothers, haveyour
vehicle checked byaNISSAN dealeras
soon aspossible.

The front airbags, sideairbags, curtain airbags
and pretensioners aredesigned toactivate ona
one-time-only basis.Asareminder, unlessitis
damaged, thesupplemental airbag warning light
will remain illuminated afterinflation hasoc-
curred. Repairandreplacement ofthese sys-
tems should bedone onlybyaNISSAN dealer.
When maintenance workisrequired onthe
vehicle, thefront airbags, sideairbags, curtain
air bags andpretensioners andrelated parts
should bepointed outtothe person performing
the maintenance. Theignition switchshould
always beinthe LOCK position whenworking
under thehood orinside thevehicle.
WARNING
. Once afront airbag, sideairbag or
curtain airbag hasinflated, theair
bag module willnotfunction again
and must bereplaced. Additionally,
the activated pretensioners must
also bereplaced. Theairbag mod-
ule and pretensioner shouldbe
replaced byaNISSAN dealer.The
air bag modules andpretensioner
system cannotberepaired.
