When opening thehood:
1. Pull thehood release handle

below theinstrument panel;thehood will
then spring upslightly .
2. Locate thelever

in between thehood
and grille, andpullthelever upwith your
fingertips.
3. Raise thehood

4. Remove thesupport rod

and insert it
into theslot
*

Hold thecoated part
*

when removing or
resetting thesupport rod.Avoid direct
contact withthemetal parts,asthey may
be hot immediately aftertheengine hasbeen
stopped.
When closing thehood:
1. While supporting thehood, return the
support rodtoits original position.
2. Slowly lowerthehood toabout 8to 12 in
(20 to30 cm) above thehood lock,thenlet
it drop.
3. Make sureitis securely latched.
