If you want to stop the window movement, operate the switch lightly in the reverse direc- tion.
Each sub switch can be used for its own pas- senger door window, unless the driver’s win-dow lock switch is activated. The power windows can be run up or down when the ignition switch is in the “ON” posi- tion. The door windows can be opened or closedfor a 30 second period after the ignition switch is turned to the “ACC” or “LOCK” position. However, once the driver’s door orthe front passenger’s door is opened, the power windows cannot be operated.

If a hand or head is trapped, for safety the door window is automatically lowered a little. After the door window is lowered, pull up the switch again to close the door window.

There-fore be especially careful that fingers are not trapped in the door window opening. The safety mechanism is deactivated while the switch is pressed. Therefore be especially careful that fingers are not trapped in the door window opening. Do not deliberately trap your hands or head in order to activate the safety mechanism. Your hand or head could be trapped and per-sonal injury could result.

Wind buffeting can be described as the per- ception of pressure on the ears or a booming or rumbling sound. Your vehicle may exhibitwind buffeting when driving with one or both
rear door windows down or partially opened. This is a normal occurrence that can be mini- mized. If the buffeting occurs with the rear door windows open, open the front door win-dows as well as the rear door windows to minimize the condition.

 The safety mechanism can be activated if the driving conditions or other circumstances cause the door window to be subjected to a physical shock similar to that caused by trapped hand or head.  If the safety mechanism is activated 3 or more times consecutively, the safety mecha-nism is deactivated and normal closing of the door window will be aborted. Use the following method to return to normaloperation. 1. If the door window is open, repeatedly pull up the power window switch to fully close the door window. 2. With fully closing the window, release the switch and then pull up the switch again for about 1 second.

What to do if you hear wind buffeting when driving

WA R N I N G Do not stick your head, hands or anything else in the sunroof opening.  Before operating the sunroof, make sure that nothing can be trapped (head, hands, fingers, etc.). Never leave a child (or other person who is incapable of safely operating the sunroof switch) alone in the vehicle.

When the rear window defogger switch ispressed with the engine running, the outside rearview mirrors are defogged or defrosted. Current will flow through the heater elementinside the mirrors, thus clearing away frost or condensation.
The indicator light (A) will illuminate while the defogger is on. The heater will be turned off automatically in about 20 minutes.

Remove the key at the “LOCK” position. Turn the steering wheel until it is locked. Turn the key to the “ACC” position while moving the steering wheel slightly.

 Do not operate the starter motor continu- ously for longer than 15 seconds as thiscould run the battery down or damage the starter motor. If the engine does not start, turn the ignition switch back to the“LOCK” position, wait a few seconds, and then try again. Trying repeatedly with the engine or starter motor still turningwill damage the starter mechanism.  If the engine will not start because the bat- tery is weak or discharged, refer to“Jump-starting the engine” (on page 8-2) for instructions.  [Except for vehicles equipped with the turbocharger]
 If the engine is turned off while driving, the power brake booster will stop functioning and braking efficiency will be reduced. Also, the power steering system will not function and it will require greater effort to manuallysteer the vehicle. Do not leave the key in the “ON” position for a long time when the engine is not running. This will cause the battery to run down. Do not turn the key to the “START” position when the engine is running. It will damage the starter motor.

Driv-ing before the bar graph moves may causedeterioration of turbocharger performance and driveability. A longer warm up period will only consume extra fuel.  On vehicles equipped with the Twin Clutch SST, the following may occur after the engine is started, but they do not indi-cate an abnormality. • You may hear operational sounds of the Twin Clutch SST and you may feelvibration in the vehicle body. • If you shift the gearshift lever into the “N” (NEUTRAL) position and depressthe accelerator pedal, increases in the engine speed will be limited.

There is usually no need to depress the accel- erator pedal when starting the engine. The starter should not be run for more than 15seconds at a time.To prevent battery drain, wait a few seconds between attempts to restart the engine. 1. Make sure all occupants are properly seated with seat belts fastened 2. Insert the ignition key. 3. Make sure the parking brake is applied.4. Press and hold the brake pedal down withyour right foot. 5. Press and hold the clutch pedal all the way down (manual transaxle). 6.
