panel inform the driver of the status of the vehicle’s various systems.
For the purpose of explanation, the follo wing illustration displays all indica-
tors and warning lights illuminated.

: These lights turn on when the “E NGINE START STOP” switch is turned
to IGNITION ON mode to indicate that a system check is being per-
formed. They will turn off after the en gine is started, or after a few sec-
onds. There may be a malfunction in a system if a light does not come on,
or if the lights do not turn off. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus
dealer for details.

If a safety system warning light does not come on
Should a safety system ligh t such as Multi Terrain ABS and the SRS airbag warning
light not come on when you start the engine , this could mean that these systems are
not available to help protect you in an accident, which could result in death or seri-
ous injury. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately if this
occurs.■ Warning lights
Warning lights inform the driver of malfunctions in any of the vehi-
cle’s systems. (  P. 826)

■ Display off
A blank screen is displayed Displays inflation pre ssure of each tire. There
is no correlation between the order of the dis-
played values and the tire positions. If the inflation pressure of any tire drops a cer-
tain amount below the tire inflation pressure
value currently memorized in the system, the
displayed values will be highlighted.
It may take a few minutes to display the tire infla-
tion pressure after the “ENGINE START
STOP” switch is turned to IGNITION ON
mode. It may also take a few minutes to display
the tire inflation pressure after inflation pressure
has been adjusted.
If the tire pressure warning light is on or flashing,
a message describing the situation will be dis-
played.

Headlight switch The headlights can be operated manually or automatically.
Type A
The daytime running
lights turn on.

With the headlights on, push the
lever forward to turn on the high
beams. Vehicles with an Automatic High
Beam system: When the light
switch is in “AUTO” position, the
Automatic High Beam system will
be activated. (  P. 213)
Pull the lever back to the center
position to turn the high beams off.
Pull the lever toward you to turn
on the high beams. Release the lever to turn them off.
You can flash the high beams with
the headlights on or off.
AFS
AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System) improves visibility at intersections
and on curves by automatically adjusting the direction of the light axis of
the headlights according to vehicl e speed and the degree of the tire
angle that are controlled by steering input.
Operates at speeds of 6 mph (10 km/h) or higher
■ Deactivating AFS
On/off The indicator turns on when the
AFS is deactivated.
