■ Automatic Collision Notification
In case of either airbag deployment or severe rear-end collision, the
system is designed to automatical ly call the response center. The
responding agent receives the vehicle’s location and attempts to
speak with the vehicle occupants to assess the level of emergency. If
the occupants are unable to co mmunicate, the agent automatically
treats the call as an emergency, co ntacts the nearest emergency ser-
vices provider to describe the situa tion, and requests that assistance
be sent to the location.

LX570_OM_OM60L96U_(U) ■ Stolen Vehicle Location
If your vehicle is stolen , Safety Connect can work with local authorities
to assist them in locating and recovering the vehicle. After filing a
police report, call the Safety Co nnect response center at 1-800-25-
LEXUS (1-800-255-3987) and follow the prompts for Safety Con-
nect to initiate this service.
In addition to assisting law enforcemen t with recovery of a stolen vehi-

LX570_OM_OM60L96U_(U) ■
Caring for leather areas
Lexus recommends cleaning the interior of the vehicle at least twice a year to main-
tain the quality of the vehicle’s interior. ■
Shampooing the carpets
There are several commercial foaming-type cleaners available. Use a sponge or
brush to apply the foam. Rub in overlapping circles. Do not apply water. Excellent
results are obtained by keeping the carpet as dry as possible.■
Seat belts
Clean with mild soap and lukewarm water using a cloth or sponge. Also check the
belts periodically for excessive wear, fraying or cuts.
CAUTION■
Water in the vehicle ●
Do not splash or spill liquid in the vehicle.
Doing so may cause electrical components etc. to malfunction or catch fire. ●
Do not get any of the SRS components or wiring in the vehicle interior wet.
( P. 128)
Electrical malfunction may cause the airbag s to deploy or not function properly,
resulting in death or serious injury.■
Cleaning the interior (especially instrument panel)
Do not use polish wax or polish cleaner. The instrument panel may reflect off the
windshield, obstructing the driver’s view and leading to an accident, resulting in
death or serious injury.

Cleaning detergents ●
Do not use the following types of detergent, as they may discolor the vehicle inte-
rior or cause streaks or damage to painted surfaces.
• Non-seat portions: Organic substances such as benzene or gasoline, alkaline
or acidic solutions, dye, or bleach.
• Seats: Acidic solutions, such as thinner, benzene, or alcohol. ●
Do not use polish wax or po lish cleaner. The instrument panel’s or other interior
part’s painted surface may be damaged.■
Preventing damage to leather surfaces
Observe the following precautions to avoid damage to and deterioration of leather
surfaces. ●
Remove any dust or dirt on leather surfaces immediately. ●
Do not expose the vehicle to direct sunlight for extended periods of time. Park
the vehicle in the shade, especially during summer. ●
Do not place items made of vinyl, plastic, or that contain wax on the upholstery, as
they may stick to the leather surface if the vehicle interior heats up significantly.■
Water on the floor
Do not wash the vehicle floor with water.
Vehicle systems such as the audio syst em may be damaged if water comes into
contact with electrical components under the floor of the vehicle, and may also
cause the body to rust. ■
Cleaning the inside of the rear quarter windows and rear window ●
Do not use glass cleaner to clean the rear quarter windows and rear window, as
this may cause damage to the rear wind ow defogger heater wires or antenna.
Use a cloth dampened with lukewarm wa ter to gently wipe the window clean.
Wipe the window in stroke s running parallel to the heater wires or antenna.●
Be careful not to scratch or damage the heater wires or antenna.

LX570_OM_OM60L96U_(U) 4-2. Maintenance
Maintenance requirements To ensure safe and economical driving, day-to-day care and regular main-
tenance is essential. It is the owne r’s responsibility to perform regular
checks. Lexus recommends the following maintenance.
■ General maintenance
General maintenance should be performed on a daily basis. This
can be done by yourself or by a Lexus dealer.
■ Scheduled maintenance
Scheduled maintenance should be performed at specified intervals
according to the maintenance schedule. For details about maintenance items and schedules, refer to the “War-
ranty and Services Guide”, “Owner’s Manual Supplement” or “Sched-
uled Maintenance”.
■ Do-it-yourself maintenance
You can perform some maintenan ce procedures yourself.
Please be aware that do-it-your self maintenance may affect war-
ranty coverage. The use of Lexus repair manuals is recommended.
For details about warranty coverage , refer to the separate “Owner’s
Guide”, “Warranty and Services Guid e”, “Owner’s Manual Supplement”
or “Warranty Booklet”.

LX570_OM_OM60L96U_(U) CAUTION■
Maintenance of the tires
Each tire, including the spare (if provided ), should be checked monthly when cold
and inflated to the inflation pressure recommended by the vehicle manufacturer on
the vehicle placard or tire inflation pressure label (tire and load information label).
(If your vehicle has tires of a different si ze than the size indi cated on the vehicle
placard or tire inflation pressure label [tire and load information label], you should
determine the proper tire inflati on pressure for those tires.)
As an added safety feature, your vehicl e has been equipped with a tire pressure
monitoring system (T PMS-tire pressure wa rning system) that illuminates a low tire
pressure telltale (tire pressure warning ligh t) when one or more of your tires is sig-
nificantly under-inflated. Acco rdingly, when the low tire pr essure telltale (tire pres-
sure warning light) illuminates, you shou ld stop and check your tires as soon as
possible, and inflate them to the proper pressure. Driving on a significantly under-
inflated tire causes the tire to overheat an d can lead to tire failure. Under-inflation
also reduces fuel efficiency and tire tread life, and may affect the vehicle’s handling
and stopping ability.
Please note that the TPMS (tire pressure warning system) is not a substitute for
proper tire maintenance, and it is the driver’s responsibility to maintain correct tire
pressure, even if under-inflation has not reached the level to trigger illumination of
the TPMS low tire pressure telltale (tire pressure warning light).
