Operating the power windows after tu rning the “ENGINE START STOP” switch
OFF
The power windows can be operated for ap proximately 45 seconds even after the
“ENGINE START STOP” switch is turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned OFF.
They cannot, however, be operated once either front door is opened. ■
Jam protection function
If an object becomes caught between th e window and the window frame, window
travel is stopped and the window is opened slightly. ■
When the power window does not close normally
If the jam protection function is oper ating abnormally and a window cannot be
closed, perform the following operations using the power window switch on the rel-
evant door. ●
After stopping the vehicle, the window can be closed by holding the power win-
dow switch in the one-touch closing position while the “ENGINE START
STOP” switch is turned to IGNITION ON mode.●
If the window still cannot be closed even by carrying out the operation
explained above, initialize the function by performing the following procedure.
Hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing position. Con-
tinue holding the switch for a further 6 seconds after the window has
closed.
Hold the power window switch in the one-touch opening position. Con-
tinue holding the switch for a furt her 2 seconds after the window has
opened completely.
Hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing position once
again. Continue holding the switch for a further 2 seconds after the win-
dow has closed.
If you release the switch while the window is moving, start again from the beginning.
If the window continues to close but then re-open slightly even after performing the
above procedure correctly, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer. STEP 1

The moon roof can be operated when
The “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in IGNITION ON mode. ■
Door lock linked moon roof operation
The following functions can be used if customized at your Lexus dealer. ●
The moon roof can be opened and cl osed using the mechanical key. (  P. 872)●
The moon roof can be opened usin g the wireless remo te control. (  P. 49)●
The moon roof can be closed using the entry function. (  P. 36)■
Operating the moon roof after turning the “ENGINE START STOP” switch OFF
The moon roof can be operated for approximately 45 seconds even after the
“ENGINE START STOP” switch is turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned OFF.
It cannot, however, be operated on ce either front door is opened.■
Jam protection function
If an object is detected between the moon roof and the frame while closing or tilting
down, travel is stopped and the moon roof opens slightly. ■
If the moon roof cannot be closed automatically
Keep the switch depressed. ■
To reduce moon roof wind noise
When the moon roof is opened automaticall y, it will stop slightly before the fully
open position. Driving with the moon roof in this position can help reduce wind
noise. ■
Sunshade
The sunshade can be opened and closed manually. However, the sunshade will
open automatically when th e moon roof is opened.

Moon roof open warning buzzer
The buzzer sounds and message is shown on the multi-information display in the
instrument panel when the “ENGINE STAR T STOP” switch is turned OFF and the
driver’s door is opened with the moon roof open. ■
Customization
Settings (e.g. linked door lock operation) can be changed.

Opening the moon roof
Observe the following precautions.
Failing to do so may cause death or serious injury.●
Do not allow any passengers to put their hands or heads outside the vehicle while
it is moving. ●
Do not sit on top of the moon roof.

Opening the fuel tank cap Perform the following steps to open the fuel tank cap.
■ Before refueling the vehicle
● Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch OFF and ensure that
all the doors and windows are closed.
● Confirm the type of fuel. (  P. 117)

Engine immobilizer system

The vehicle has a maintenance-free type engine immobilizer system. ■
Conditions that may cause the system to malfunction ●
If the key is in contact with a metallic object ●
If the key is in close proximity to or to uching a key to the security system (key
with a built-in transponde r chip) of another vehicleThe vehicle’s keys have built-in tran sponder chips that prevent the engine
from starting if a key has not been prev iously registered in the vehicle’s on-
board computer.
Never leave the keys inside the ve hicle when you leave the vehicle.
This system is designed to help prev ent vehicle theft but does not guar-

LX570_OM_OM60L96U_(U) Alarm The system sounds the al arm and flashes lights when forcible entry is
detected.
■ Triggering of the alarm
The alarm is triggered in the following situations wh en the alarm is
set:
● A locked door is unlock ed or opened in any way other than using
the entry function, wireless remo te control or using mechanical
key. (The doors will lock again automatically.)
● The hood is opened.
■ Setting the alarm system
Close the doors and hood, and
lock all doors.
The system will be set automati-
cally after 30 seconds. The indicator light changes from
being on to flashing when the
system is set.
■ Deactivating or stopping the alarm
Do one of the following to deactivate or stop the alarm.
● Unlock the doors.
● Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch to ACCESSORY or
IGNITION ON mode, or start the engine. (The alarm will be
deactivated or stopped after a few seconds.)

The curtain shield airbag will activate in a severe side impact. ●
The pretensioner will activate in a severe frontal collision.
CAUTION■
While normal driving
Make sure the RSCA OFF indicator is not turned on. If it is left on, the curtain shield
airbag will not activate in th e event of an accident, which may result in death or seri-
ous injury.
