■Before recharging
When recharging, the 12-volt battery produces hydrogen gas which is flammable
and explosive. Therefore, observe the following precautions before recharging:
●If recharging with the 12-volt battery installed on the vehicle, be sure to disconnect
the ground cable.
●Make sure the power switch on the charger is off when connecting and discon-
necting the charger cables to the 12-volt battery.
■After recharging/reconnecting the 12-volt battery
●The hybrid system may not start. Follow the procedure below to initialize the sys-
tem.
Shift the shift lever to P.
Open and close any of the doors.
Restart the hybrid system.
●Unlocking the doors using the smart access system with push-button start may not
be possible immediately after reconnecting the 12-volt battery. If this happens, use
the wireless remote control or the me chanical key to lock/unlock the doors.
●Start the hybrid system with the power switch in ACCESSORY mode. The hybrid
system may not start with the power switch turned off. However, the hybrid system
will operate normally from the second attempt.
●The power switch mode is recorded by the vehicle. If the 12-volt battery is recon-
nected, the vehicle will return the power switch mode to the status it was in before
the 12-volt battery was disconnected. Make sure to turn off the power switch
before disconnect the 12-volt battery. Take extra care when connecting the 12-volt
battery if the power switch mode prior to discharge is unknown.
If the system will not start even after mult iple attempts at all methods above, contact
your Lexus dealer.

CAUTION
■When inspecting or replacing tires
Observe the following precautions to prevent accidents.
Failure to do so may cause damage to parts of the drive train as well as dangerous
handling characteristics, which may lead to an accident resulting in death or seri-
ous injury.
●Do not mix tires of different makes, models or tread patterns.
Also, do not mix tires of remarkably different treadwear.
●Do not use tire sizes other than those recommended by Lexus.
●Do not mix differently constructed tires (r adial, bias-belted or bias-ply tires).
●Do not mix summer, all season and snow tires.
●Do not use tires that have been used on another vehicle.
Do not use tires if you do not know how they were used previously.
■When initializing the tire pressure warning system
Do not operate the tire pressure warning re set switch without first adjusting the tire
inflation pressure to the specified level. Otherwise, the tire pressure warning light
may not come on even if the tire inflation pressure is low, or it may come on when
the tire inflation pressure is actually normal.
■Caution regarding interference with elec tronic devices (vehicles with the tire
inflation pressure display function)
●Users of any electrical medical device other than implantable cardiac pacemak-
ers, cardiac resynchronization therapy-pacemakers or implantable cardioverter
defibrillators should consult the manufacturer of the device for information about
its operation under the influence of radio waves.
Radio waves could have unexpected effects on the operation of such medical
devices.
●People with implantable cardiac pacemak-
ers, cardiac resynchronization therapy-
pacemakers or implantable cardioverter
defibrillators should not come within 17.7 in.
(450 mm) of the tire pressure warning sys-
tem initiators. The radio waves may affect
the operation of such devices.

Wheels
When replacing wheels, care should be taken to ensure that they are
equivalent to those removed in load capacity, diameter, rim width and
inset
*.
Replacement wheels are available at your Lexus dealer.
*: Conventionally referred to as “offset”.
Lexus does not recommend using the following:
●Wheels of different sizes or types
●Used wheels
●Bent wheels that have been straightened
●Steel wheels (F SPORT models only)
●Use only Lexus wheel nuts and wren ches designed for use with your
aluminum wheels.
●When rotating, repairing or changing your tires, check that the wheel
nuts are still tight after driving 1000 miles (1600 km).
●Be careful not to damage the alum inum wheels when using tire chains.
●Use only Lexus genuine balance wei ghts or equivalent and a plastic or
rubber hammer when balancing your wheels.
If a wheel is bent, cracked or heav ily corroded, it should be replaced.
Otherwise, the tire may separate from the wheel or cause a loss of han-
dling control.

■When replacing wheels
The wheels of your vehicle are equipped with tire pressure warning valves and trans-
mitters that allow the tire pressure warnin g system to provide advance warning in the
event of a loss in tire inflation pressure. Whenever wheels are replaced, tire pressure
warning valves and transmitte rs must be installed. (P. 445)
CAUTION
■When replacing wheels
●Do not use wheels that are a different size from those recommended in the
Owner’s Manual, as this may result in a loss of handling control.
●Never use an inner tube in a leaking wheel which is designed for a tubeless tire.
Doing so may result in an accident, causing death or serious injury.
●F SPORT models: Do not install steel wheels.
The wheel contact surface could be da maged, and the wheel could come off
while driving, which could lead to an accid ent resulting in death or serious injury.
■Use of defective wheels prohibited
Do not use cracked or deformed wheels.
Doing so could cause the tire to leak air during driving, possibly causing an acci-
dent.
NOTICE
■Replacing tire pressure warning valves and transmitters
●Because tire repair or replacement may affect the tire pressure warning valves
and transmitters, make sure to have tires serviced by your Lexus dealer or other
qualified service shop. In addition, make sure to purchase your tire pressure
warning valves and transmitters at your Lexus dealer.
●Ensure that only genuine Lexus wh eels are used on your vehicle.
Tire pressure warning valves and transmitters may not work properly with non-
genuine wheels.

The driver’s seat belt buzzer sounds to al ert the driver that his or her seat belt is
not fastened. Once the power switch is turned to ON mode, the buzzer sounds
for 6 seconds. If the vehicle reaches a speed of 12 mph (20 km/h), the buzzer
sounds once. If the seat belt is still un fastened after 24 seconds, the buzzer will
sound intermittently for 10 seconds. Then, if the seat belt is still unfastened, the
buzzer will sound in a differ ent tone for 20 more seconds.
Front passenger’s seat belt buzzer:
The front passenger’s seat belt buzzer soun ds to alert the front passenger that his
or her seat belt is not fastened. The buzzer sounds once if the vehicle reaches a
speed of 12 mph (20 km/h). If the seat belt is still unfastened after 24 seconds, the
buzzer will sound intermittently for 10 seco nds. Then, if the seat belt is still unfas-
tened, the buzzer will sound in a different tone for 20 more seconds.
Tire pressure warning light
When the light comes on:
Low tire inflation pressure such
as • Natural causes ( P. 5 0 9 )
• Flat tire ( P. 5 4 1 )
Adjust the tire inflation pressure
to the specified level.
The light will turn off after a
few minutes. In case the light

When trouble arises
■Warning message in radar cruise mode (if equipped)
In the following cases, the warning message may not be displayed even if vehicle-to-
vehicle distance decreases:
●When your vehicle and the vehicle ahead are traveling at the same speed or the
vehicle ahead is traveling more quickly than your vehicle
●When the vehicle ahead is traveling at a very low speed
●Immediately after cruise control speed is set
●At the instant the accelerator pedal is depressed
■The LKA (Lane-Keeping Assist) lane departure warning function (if equipped)
In the following cases, the warning message will not be displayed even if a lane line is
crossed.
●When the vehicle speed deviates from the operating range of the LKA system
functions
●When the lane lines cannot be recognized
●When the steering wheel is turned as far as necessary to cause the vehicle to
change lanes
■Open door warning message
The open door warning message continues to display until a door or the trunk is fully
closed, even if the power switch is turned off. However, approximately 20 minutes
after a door or the trunk is not fully closed, the 12-volt battery-saving function oper-
ates and the display turns off even though a door or the trunk is not fully closed.
