To operate the electric rearview mirror:
• The mirror defaults to the ON positionwhenever the ignition switch is turned on.
• Press the on/off button (1) to turn the automatic dimming function off. The
mirror indicator light will turn off.
Press the on/off button (1) to turn the
automatic dimming function on. The
mirror indicator light will illuminate. Outside rearview mirror
Be sure to adjust mirror angles before
driving.
Your vehicle is equipped with both left-
hand and right-hand outside rearview
mirrors. The mirrors can be adjusted
remotely with the remote switch. The mir-
ror heads can be folded back to prevent
damage during an automatic car wash or
when passing in a narrow street.

Rearview mir-
rors
• The outside rearview mirror is convex. Objects seen in the mir-
ror are closer than they appear.
• Use your interior rearview mirror or direct observation to deter-
mine the actual distance of fol-
lowing vehicles when changing lanes.
CAUTION
Do not scrape ice off the mirror
face; this may damage the surface of the glass. If ice should restrictmovement of the mirror, do notforce the mirror for adjustment. To
remove ice, use a deicer spray, or a sponge or soft cloth with very warmwater.
CAUTION
If the mirror is jammed with ice, do not adjust the mirror by force. Usean approved spray de-icer (not radi-ator antifreeze) to release the
frozen mechanism or move thevehicle to a warm place and allow
the ice to melt.
WARNING
Do not adjust or fold the outside
rearview mirrors whilst the vehicle
is moving. This could result in loss
of control, and an accident which
could cause death, serious injury
or property damage.

Fuel gauge
The fuel gauge indicates the approxi- mate amount of fuel remaining in the fueltank.
✽NOTICE
• The fuel tank capacity is given in sec- tion 8.
• The fuel gauge is supplemented by a
low fuel warning light, which will illu-
minate when the fuel tank is nearly
empty.
• On inclines or curves, the fuel gauge may fluctuate or the low fuel warning
light may come on earlier than usual
due to the movement of fuel in the
tank.
Engine coolant temperature gauge
This gauge shows the temperature of the
engine coolant when the ignition switchis ON.
Do not continue driving with an overheat-
ed engine. If your vehicle overheats, refer
to “If the engine overheats” in section 6.
WARNING - Fuel gauge
Running out of fuel can expose
vehicle occupants to danger.
You must stop and obtain addition-
al fuel as soon as possible after the warning light comes on or when the
gauge indicator comes close to the
“O (Empty)” level.
CAUTION
Avoid driving with an extremely low fuel level. Running out of fuel could
cause the engine to misfire damag-ing the catalytic converter.

Manual transaxle shift indicator (if equipped)
This indicator informs you which gear is
desired whilst driving to save fuel.
For example: Indicates that shifting up to the 3rdgear is desired (currently the shift
lever is in the 2nd or 1st gear).
: Indicates that shifting down to the 3rd gear is desired (currently the
shift lever is in the 4th or 5th gear).
You can turn off the indicator. Refer to
“User setting” in this section. Automatic transaxle shift position indicator (if equipped)
The indicator displays which automatic
transaxle shift lever is selected.

CAUTION
If the gauge pointer moves beyond
the normal range area toward the “130°C”, it indicates overheating that may damage the engine.
WARNING
Never remove the radiator cap
when the engine is hot. The enginecoolant is under pressure and
could cause severe burns. Wait
until the engine is cool before
adding coolant to the reservoir.

Automatic Transaxle Shift Indicator in
sports mode (if equipped, For Europe)
In the Sports Mode, this indicator informs
which gear is desired whilst driving to
save fuel.
For example
: Indicates that shifting up to the 3rdgear is desired (currently the shift
lever is in the 2nd or 1st gear).
: Indicates that shifting down to the 3rd gear is desired (currently the shift
lever is in the 4th, 5th, or 6th gear).
When the system is not working properly,
the indicator is not displayed. Double clutch transmission (DS mode) shift indicator(if equipped)
The indicator displays which Double clutch
transmission shift lever is selected.
In DS mode, the “SPORTS” indicator dis-
plays in cluster. For more detailed informa-
tion about DS mode, refer to the chapter 5.

• When the problem of gear system
occurs, the transaxle indicatorwill blink. For your safety, we rec-ommend that you contact an authorised Kia dealer and have
the system checked.
• When the clutch is overheated, the safe protection mode oper-ates. According to the safe protec-
tion mode, the transaxle indicatorblinks with buzzer sound. The buzzer beeps 3 times. In this time, the LCD warning about safe pro-
tection mode also displays. In this
condition, the driving may not besmoothly. If you ignore this warn-ing, the driving condition is get- ting worse and the system mayhave problem. To return the nor-
mal driving condition, apply thefoot brake and stop the vehicle forfew minutes before driving off.

Door Menu
• Auto Door Lock
Off - The auto door lock operation will becanceled.
Speed - All doors will be automatically locked when the vehicle speed
exceeds 15km/h (9.3mph).
Shift Lever - All doors will be automati- cally locked if the shift lever
is shifted from the P(Park)
position to the R(Reverse),
N(Neutral) or D(Drive) posi-
tion. (for automatic transaxle

• Auto Door Unlock
Off - The auto door unlock operation will be canceled.
Key Out - All doors will be automatically unlocked when the ignition key

button in the ON position.

The shift indicator function will be activated.
