The driver’s primary responsibility is the safe operation of the vehicle. Driving while distracted can result in loss of vehicle control, resulting in a collision and personal injury. Chrysler Group LLC strongly recommends that the driver use extreme caution when using any device or feature that may take their attention o! the road. Use of any electrical devices, such as cellular telephones, computers, portable radios, vehicle navigation or other devices, by the driver while the vehicle is moving is dangerous and could lead to a serious collision. Texting while driving is also dangerous and should never be done while the vehicle is moving. If you find yourself unable to devote your full attention to vehicle operation, pull o! the road to a safe location and stop your vehicle. Some states or provinces prohibit the use of cellular telephones or texting while driving. It is always the driver’s responsibility to comply with all local laws.

Driving and Alcohol:
Drunken driving is one of the most frequent causes of collisions. Your driving ability can be seriously impaired with blood alcohol levels far below the legal minimum. If you are drinking, don’t drive. Ride with a designated non-drinking driver, call a cab, a friend, or use public transportation.
Driving after drinking can lead to a collision. Your perceptions are less sharp, your reflexes are slower, and your judgment is impaired when you have been drinking. Never drink and then drive.

to be deleted and the name Chrysler Canada Inc. used in substitution (excluding
legal lines).
WARNING!
• Pedals that cannot move freely can cause loss of vehicle control and increase
the risk of serious personal injury.
• Always make sure that objects cannot fall into the driver foot well while the
vehicle is moving. Objects can become trapped under the brake pedal and
accelerator pedal causing a loss of vehicle control.
• Failure to properly follow floor mat installation or mounting can cause inter-
ference with the brake pedal and accelerator pedal operation causing loss of
control of the vehicle.
• Never leave children alone in a vehicle, or with access to an unlocked vehicle.
Allowing children to be in a vehicle unattended is dangerous for a number of
reasons. A child or others could be seriously or fatally injured. Children should
be warned not to touch the parking brake, brake pedal or the shift lever.
• Do not leave the key fob in or near the vehicle, or in a location accessible to
children, and do not leave the ignition of a vehicle equipped with Keyless
Enter-N-Go in the MAR/RUN mode. A child could operate power windows,
other controls, or move the vehicle.
• Never use the “PARK” position as a substitute for the parking brake. Always
apply the parking brake fully when parked to guard against vehicle movement
and possible injury or damage.
• Refer to your Owner's Manual on the DVD for further details.

• Persons who are unable to feel pain to the skin because of advanced age,
chronic illness, diabetes, spinal cord injury, medication, alcohol use, exhaus-
tion or other physical condition must exercise care when using the seat heater.
It may cause burns even at low temperatures, especially if used for long periods
of time.
• Do not place anything on the seat or seatback that insulates against heat, such
as a blanket or cushion. This may cause the seat heater to overheat. Sitting in
a seat that has been overheated could cause serious burns due to the increased
surface temperature of the seat.

Seatback Repositioning
NOTE:
If interference from the cargo area prevents the seatback from fully locking, you will
have difficulty returning the seat to its proper position.
1. Move the safety belts to the seat belt guides on the top edge of the seat to ensure
the seatbacks properly latch.
2. Lift the seatbacks, pushing them back until they lock on both the latches. Verify
the red notches are no longer visible on the release lever. If the red notches are
visible, the seatback is not secure.
Unfolding The Rear Armrest 40/20/40
Tilt the head restraint forward and pull the rear armrest tab to release it from the seat
and pull forward.
The center part of the rear seat can also be used as rear armrest with cupholders.
WARNING!
Be certain that the seatback is securely locked into position. If the seatback is not
securely locked into position the seat will not provide the proper stability for child
seats and/or passengers. An improperly latched seat could cause serious injury.
HEATED STEERING WHEEL
The steering wheel contains a heating element that helps warm your hands in cold
weather. The heated steering wheel has only one temperature setting. Once the
heated steering wheel switchhas been turned on, it will operate for up to 80
minutes before automatically shutting off. The heated steering wheel can shut off
early or may not turn on when the steering wheel is already warm. The heated steering
wheel control button is located on the center of the instrument panel below the radio
screen.
WARNING!
• Persons who are unable to feel pain to the skin because of advanced age,
chronic illness, diabetes, spinal cord injury, medication, alcohol use, exhaus-
tion, or other physical conditions must exercise care when using the steering
wheel heater. It may cause burns even at low temperatures, especially if used
for long periods.
• Do not place anything on the steering wheel that insulates against heat, such
as a blanket or steering wheel covers of any type and material. This may cause
the steering wheel heater to overheat.

Mode Of Operation
Three selectable modes of operation are available in the Uconnect®System. Refer to
“Uconnect®Settings” in “Multimedia” in your Owner’s Manual on the DVD for
further information.
Blind Spot Alert Lights Only
When operating in Blind Spot Alert mode, the BSM system will provide a visual alert
in the appropriate side view mirror based on a detected object. However, when the
system is operating in Rear Cross Path (RCP) mode, the system will respond with
both visual and audible alerts when a detected object is present. Whenever an
audible alert is requested, the radio is muted.
Blind Spot Alert Lights/Chime
When operating in Blind Spot Alert Lights/Chime mode, the BSM system will provide a
visual alert in the appropriate side view mirror based on a detected object. If the turn
signal is then activated, and it corresponds to an alert present on that side of the vehicle,
an audible chime will also be sounded. Whenever a turn signal and detected object are
present on the same side at the same time, both the visual and audible alerts will be
issued. In addition to the audible alert, the radio (if on) will also be muted.
NOTE:
Whenever an audible alert is requested by the BSM system, the radio is also muted.
When the system is in RCP, the system will respond with both visual and audiblealerts when a detected object is present. Whenever an audible alert is requested, theradio is also muted. Turn/hazard signal status is ignored; the RCP state alwaysrequests the chime.
Blind Spot Alert Off
When the BSM system is turned off, there will be no visual or audible alerts from
either the BSM or RCP systems.
NOTE:
The BSM system will store the current operating mode when the vehicle is shut off.
Each time the vehicle is started the previously stored mode will be recalled and used.
Blind Spot Monitoring Fault Warnings
Sensor Blinded
In the case of a sensor blinded:
• BSM Mirror Warning Lights are turned on continuously.
• A chime will turn on.
• A instrument cluster message will display“Blind Spot Monitoring Unavailable - Wipe
Rear Bumper Corners.”
NOTE:
The rear bumper must be clean and free of any obstructing debris.
OPERATING YOUR VEHICLE
50
If a Forward Collision Warning with Mitigation event begins at a speed below 20 mph
(32 km/h), the system may provide the maximum braking possible to mitigate the
potential forward collision. If the Forward Collision Warning with Mitigation event
stops the vehicle completely, the system will hold the vehicle at standstill for two
seconds and then release the brakes.
When the system determines a collision with the vehicle in front of you is no longer
probable, the warning message will be deactivated.
NOTE:
• The minimum speed for FCW activation is 4 mph (7 km/h).
• The maximum speed for FCW activation is 124 mph (200 km/h).
• The FCW alerts may be triggered on objects other than vehicles such as guard rails
or sign posts based on the course prediction. This is expected and is a part of
normal FCW activation and functionality.
• The FCW system is intended for on-road use only. If the vehicle is taken off-road,
the FCW system should be deactivated to prevent unnecessary warnings to the
surroundings.
• If the vehicle enters 4WD Low Range, the FCW system will be automatically
deactivated.
• The system is active only if the front seat belts are fastened.
WARNING!
Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is not intended to avoid a collision on its own, nor
can FCW detect every type of potential collision. The driver has the responsibility
to avoid a collision by controlling the vehicle via braking and steering. Failure to
follow this warning could lead to serious injury or death.
Turning FCW ON And OFF
NOTE:
The default status of FCW is “On”, this allows the system to warn you of a pos-
sible collision with the vehicle in front of you.
The forward collision soft button is located in the Uconnect®settings.
• Changing the FCW status to “Off” prevents the system from warning you of a
possible collision with the vehicle in front of you.
• Changing the FCW sensitivity:
•Near:warns the driver later
•Medium:warns between the other two possible settings
•Far:warns the driver of a possible collision earlier

“Wipe Front Radar Sensor In Front Of Vehicle” Warning
The “FCW Unavailable Wipe Front Radar Sensor” warning will display when condi-
tions temporarily limit system performance. This most often occurs at times of poor
visibility, such as in snow or heavy rain. The system may also become temporarily
blinded due to obstructions, such as mud, dirt or ice. In these cases, the EVIC/DID
will display “ FCW Unavailable Wipe Front Radar Sensor” and the system will
deactivate.
The “FCW Unavailable Wipe Front Radar Sensor” message can sometimes be
displayed while driving in highly reflective areas (i.e. tunnels with reflective tiles, or
ice and snow). The system will recover after the vehicle has left these areas. Under
rare conditions, when the radar is not tracking any vehicles or objects in its path this
warning may temporarily occur.
If weather conditions are not a factor, the driver should examine the sensor. It may
require cleaning or removal of an obstruction. The sensor is located behind the lower
grille.
NOTE:
• If the “FCW Unavailable Wipe Front Radar Sensor” message occurs frequently
(e.g. more than once on every trip) without any snow, rain, mud, or other
obstruction, have the radar sensor realigned at your authorized dealer.
• Installing a snow plow, front-end protector, an aftermarket grille or modifying the
grille is not recommended. Doing so may block the sensor and inhibit FCW
operation.
Precautions While Driving With FCW
In certain driving conditions, such as:
• Driving in the vicinity of a curve
• Small vehicles and/or not aligned to the lane
• Lane changing of other vehicles
• Passing of vehicles in an oncoming intersection
The intervention of the system could be unexpected or delayed. The driver must
therefore always pay particular attention, while maintaining control of the car to drive
in complete safety.
Driving In The Vicinity Of A Curve
Entering or exiting a large curve, the system could detect the presence of a vehicle
that is in front of the car, but that does not preside in the same lane. In cases such
as this, the system might respond.

Park Assist System Usage Precautions
NOTE:
• Ensure that the outer surface and the underside of the rear bumper is clean and
clear of snow, ice, mud, dirt or other obstruction to keep the Rear Park Assist
system operating properly.
• Jackhammers, large trucks, and other vibrations could affect the performance of
Rear Park Assist.
• Clean the Rear Park Assist sensors regularly, taking care not to scratch or damage
them. The sensors must not be covered with ice, snow, slush, mud, dirt or debris.
Failure to do so can result in the system not working properly. The Rear Park Assist
system might not detect an obstacle behind the fascia/bumper, or it could provide
a false indication that an obstacle is behind the fascia/bumper.
• Objects such as bicycle carriers, etc., must not be placed within 12 inches (30
cm) from the rear fascia/bumper while driving the vehicle. Failure to do so can
result in the system misinterpreting a close object as a sensor problem, causing a
failure indication to be displayed in the instrument cluster.
CAUTION!
• Rear Park Assist is only a parking aid and it is unable to recognize every
obstacle, including small obstacles. Parking curbs might be temporarily
detected or not detected at all. Obstacles located above or below the sensors
will not be detected when they are in close proximity.
• The vehicle must be driven slowly when using Rear Park Assist in order to be
able to stop in time when an obstacle is detected. It is recommended that the
driver looks over his/her shoulder when using Rear Park Assist.
WARNING!
• Drivers must be careful when backing up even when using ParkSense®. Always
check carefully behind your vehicle, look behind you, and be sure to check for
pedestrians, animals, other vehicles, obstructions, and blind spots before
backing up. You are responsible for safety and must continue to pay attention
to your surroundings. Failure to do so can result in serious injury or death.
• Before using ParkSense®, it is strongly recommended that the ball mount and
hitch ball assembly is disconnected from the vehicle when the vehicle is not
used for towing. Failure to do so can result in injury or damage to vehicles or
obstacles because the hitch ball will be much closer to the obstacle than the
rear fascia when the loudspeaker sounds the continuous tone. Also, the sensors
could detect the ball mount and hitch ball assembly, depending on its size and
shape, giving a false indication that an obstacle is behind the vehicle.
