TOWING A DISABLED VEHICLE
Do not tow with sling-type equipment. This vehicle must be towed with all four wheels
OFF the ground using a flatbed. Always comply with applicable state or local towing
ordinances.
CAUTION!
•Failuretofollowthesetowingmethodscancauseseveretransmissiondamage.
Such damage is not covered by the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
•Donotattempttousesling-typeequipmentwhentowing.Whensecuringthe
vehicle to a flatbed truck, do not attach to front or rear suspension components.
Damage to your vehicle may result from improper towing.
FREEING A STUCK VEHICLE
•Ifyourvehiclebecomesstuckinmud,sandorsnow,itcanoftenbemovedbyarocking
motion. Turn your steering wheel right and left to clear the area around the front wheels.
Then shift back and forth between 2nd gear and REVERSE. Using minimal accelerator
pedal pressure to maintain the rocking motion, without spinning the wheels, is most
effective.
WARNING!
Fast spinning tires can be dangerous. Forces generated by excessive wheel speeds may
cause tire damage or failure. A tire could explode and injure someone. Do not spin your
vehicle's wheels faster than 30 mph (48 km/h) when you are stuck. Do not let anyone
near a spinning wheel, no matter what the speed.

MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES
The Scheduled Maintenance services listed in this manual must be done at the times or
mileages specified to protect your vehicle warranty and ensure the best vehicle perfor-
mance and reliability. More frequent maintenance may be needed for vehicles in severe
operating conditions, such as dusty areas and very short trip driving. Inspection and
service should also be done anytime a malfunction is suspected.
NOTE:
Under no circumstances should oil change intervals exceed 6,000 miles (10 000 km)
or six months, whichever comes first.
CAUTION!
Failure to perform the required maintenance items may result in damage to the vehicle.
At Each Stop For Fuel
•Checktheengineoillevelaboutfiveminutesafterafullywarmedengineisshutoff.
Checking the oil level while the vehicle is on level ground will improve the accuracy of
the oil level reading. Add oil only when the level is at or below the ADD or MIN mark.
•Checkthewindshieldwashersolventandaddifrequired.
Once A Month
•Checktirepressureandlookforunusualwearordamage.Rotatetiresatthefirstsign
of irregular wear, even if it occurs before your next scheduled service.
•Inspectthebattery,andcleanandtightentheterminalsasrequired.
•Checkthefluidlevelsofthecoolantreservoir,brakemastercylinder,powersteering,
and transmission, and add as needed.
•Checkalllightsandallotherelectricalitemsforcorrectoperation.
At Each Oil Change
•Changetheengineoilfilter.
•Inspecttheexhaustsystem.
NOTE:
Also, inspect the exhaust system if you notice a change in the sound of the exhaust
system, or if the exhaust fumes can be detected inside the vehicle.
•Inspectthebrakehoses.
•Inspectthesuspensioncomponents.
•Lubricatedoorhingesandchecksprings.
•Checktheenginecoolantlevel,hoses,andclamps.
•Checkpowersteeringfluidlevel.

TIRE PRESSURES
Check the inflation pressure of each tire, including the spare tire (if equipped), at least
monthly and inflate to the recommended pressure for your vehicle.
The tire pressures recommended for your vehicle are found on the “Tire and Loading
Information” label located on the driver’s side door opening.

Refer to the Owner's Manual on the DVD for
more information regarding tire warnings
and instructions.
WARNING!
•Overloading of your tires is dangerous. Overloading can cause tire failure, affect vehicle
handling, and increase your stopping distance. Use tires of the recommended load
capacity for your vehicle. Never overload them.
•Improperly inflated tires are dangerous and can cause collisions. Under-inflation
increases tire flexing and can result in over-heating and tire failure. Over-inflation
reduces a tire’s ability to cushion shock. Objects on the road and chuck holes can
cause damage that results in tire failure. Unequal tire pressures can cause steering
problems. You could lose control of your vehicle. Over-inflated or under-inflated tires
can affect vehicle handling and can fail suddenly, resulting in loss of vehicle control.
Always drive with each tire inflated to the recommended cold tire inflation pressure.
SPARE TIRES — IF EQUIPPED
NOTE:
For vehicles equipped with Tire Service Kit instead of a spare tire, please refer to “Tire
Service Kit” in “What To Do In Emergencies” on your DVD for further information.
CAUTION!
Because of the reduced ground clearance, do not take your vehicle through an
automatic car wash with a compact or limited-use temporary spare installed. Damage
to the vehicle may result.

WARNING!
Limited-use spares are for emergency use only. Installation of this limited-use spare
tire affects vehicle handling. With this tire, do not drive more than the speed listed on
the limit-use spare wheel. Keep inflated to the cold tire inflation pressures listed on
your Tire and Loading Information Placard located on the driver’s side B-Pillar or the
rear edge of the driver’s side door. Replace (or repair) the original equipment tire at the
first opportunity and reinstall it on your vehicle. Failure to do so could result in loss of
vehicle control.
WHEEL AND WHEEL TRIM CARE
All wheels and wheel trim, especially aluminum and chrome plated wheels, should be
cleaned regularly with a mild soap and water to prevent corrosion.
To r e m o v e h e a v y s o i l a n d / o r e x c e s s i v e b r a k e d u s t , u s e M O PA R®Wheel Cleaner or
equivalent or select a non-abrasive, non-acidic cleaner.
CAUTION!
Do not use scouring pads, steel wool, a bristle brush, or metal polishes. Do not use oven
cleaner. These products may damage the wheel's protective finish. Avoid automatic car
washes that use acidic solutions or harsh brushes that may damage the wheel's
protective finish. Only MOPAR®Wheel Cleaner or equivalent is recommended.
