Checking levels
Take care when working under the
bonnet, as certain areas of the engine
may be extremely hot (risk of burns) and
the cooling fan could start at any time
(even with the ignition off).
Oil level
The check of the oil level is carried
out with the dipstick, located under
the bonnet. For the position of the
dipstick, refer to the under-bonnet
view on a previous page.
Checking with dipstick
Check all of these levels regularly, in line with the manufacturer's service schedule. Top them up if necessary, unless other wise indicated.
If a level drops significantly, have the corresponding system checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop. To ensure the accuracy of the reading,
your vehicle must be on a level
sur face, with the engine off for at least
30
m
inutes.
It is normal to top up the oil level between
two services (or oil changes). CITROËN
recommends that you check the level, and top
up if necessary, every 3 000 miles (5 000 km). If you find that the oil level is above the A mark
or below the B mark, do not star t the engine
.
-
I
f the level is above the MAX mark (risk
of engine damage), contact a CITROËN
dealer or a qualified workshop.
-
I
f the level is below the MIN mark, you
must top-up the engine oil.
Refer to the under-bonnet view for the location
of the dipstick on your vehicle.
F
T

pull it out completely.

and non-fluffy cloth.
F
R
efit the dipstick and push it fully down,
then pull it out again for a visual check of
the oil level: the level must be between the
two marks A and B .

Checks
12 V battery
The battery does not require any maintenance.
However, check that the terminals are clean
and correctly tightened, particularly in summer
and winter.Refer to the manufacturer's
service schedule for details of the
replacement intervals for these
components.
Air filter and passenger compartment filter
Replace the oil filter each time the
engine oil is changed.
Refer to the manufacturer's
service schedule for details of
the replacement interval for this
component.
Oil filter
Unless other wise indicated, check these components in accordance with the manufacturer's service schedule and according to your engine.
Other wise, have them checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.Depending on the environment (e.g. dusty
atmosphere) and the use of the vehicle
(e.g. city driving), replace them twice as often
if necessary.
A clogged passenger compartment filter may
have an adverse effect on the per formance
of the air conditioning system and generate
undesirable odours.
When carrying out work on the battery, refer
to the "12 V battery" section for details of the
precautions to be taken before disconnecting
the battery and following its reconnection.
Manual gearbox
The gearbox does not require any
maintenance (no oil change).
Refer to the manufacturer's service
schedule for the checking interval for
this component.
Clutch
The clutch is operated mechanically and
requires regular adjustment.
Refer to the manufacturer's service schedule
for information on when the adjustment should
be checked.
In the event of an operating fault
(difficulty moving off, for example),
contact a CITROËN dealer or a
qualified workshop.

additional information (album artwork...)
on the radio station being listened to.
Select "DAB" in the carousel of audio

When the digital signal is weak, the
"Alternative DAB frequency " option
makes it possible to continue listening
to the same station, by automatically
switching to the corresponding "FM"
station (if there is one). If the "DAB" station being listened to
is not available, or if "
L-band" is not
activated, the sound will cut out while
the digital signal is too weak. If " Alternative DAB frequency "
tracking is activated, there is a
difference of a few seconds when the

QUESTIONANSWER SOLUTION
There is a difference in
sound quality between the
different audio sources
(radio, USB...). For optimum sound quality, the audio settings (Volume, Treble,
Medium, Bass) can be adapted to the different sound sources,
which may result in audible differences when changing source
(radio, USB...). Check that the audio settings are adapted to
the sources listened to. It is advisable to select
automatic sound adjustment (Low, Medium,
High).
Check the quality and format of your recording.
With the engine off, the
system switches off after a
few minutes of use. When the engine is switched off, the system's operating time
depends on the battery charge.
The switch-off is normal: the system changes to economy mode
and switches off to preserve the state of charge of the vehicle's
battery. Start the vehicle's engine to increase the battery
charge.

by automatically switching to the
corresponding "FM" station (if there is
o n e). If "
DAB AF " tracking is activated,
there is a difference of a few seconds
when the system switches to the "FM"
analogue radio station with sometimes
a variation in volume.
When the digital signal is restored, the
system automatically changes back
