Single-trip memory (Trip computer 1)
The s ingle-t rip memory s to res the trip informa­
tion from the time the ignition is tu rned on until
it is turned off. If the trip is continued
within 2
hours
from the time the ignition was turned off,
the new data w ill be included in the calculat ion of
the current trip information. If the trip is inter­
rupted for
more than 2 hours the memory is re­
set automat ically.
Total-trip memory (Trip computer 2)
Unlike the sing le-trip memory, the tota l-trip
memory is not reset automatically. Th is permits
you to evaluate your driving data for the entire pe riod between manual resets.
Operation
The trip computer is controlled by two switches
on the windshield wiper lever.

Operating
.. To d isp lay the trip computer memory leve ls,
press the
I RESE T I button @¢ fig. 11 repeated­
ly until the des ired memory level is shown in
the d isplay .
.. To display trip information w ith in a memory
level , press the top or bottom part of the func­
t ion select io n switch @.
The trip computer will not operate unless the ig­
nition is on. When you turn on the ignition, the
function that was in use when you last turned the
i gn ition off will be d isp layed.
In addition to information about the trip comput­
er (tr ip computer 1 and 2), information about
other systems can also be shown in the display.
Driver information system
To switch the display between the different infor­
mation, tap the
! RESET I button @briefly.
Resetting values to zero
"Select a value in the desired trip computer .
" Press and hold the
I RESET I button @for at
least one second. A ll values in the selected trip
computer are reset to zero .
With some vehi cle equ ipment levels, the values
for the single trip or total trip memory can also
be reset in the Infotainment system
¢page 25.
@ Tips
All stored values w ill be lost if the vehicle bat­
tery is disconnected.
Basic Settings for the trip computer
The radio or MMI* operating unit is used for set­
ting the trip computer's basic settings.

Programming or reprogramming buttons
• Switch the ignition on.
• Press and hold the button in the roof head liner

Erasing button programming
The programmed buttons cannot be erased indi­
vidually . They must all be erased together . Repro­
gram the buttons if necessary .

Displaying the version/status/country code

- Depending on the model of the system, you
may need to release the button on the re­
mote control during programming and
press it again. Hold each position you try for
at leas t 15 seconds before trying another
position. Keep the turn signals on your vehi­
cle in view when doing this.
- After programming the garage door opener,
i t may be necessary to synchronize the mo ­
tor with the system. Refer to the manufac­
turer's instructions.

Programming the button: Part 1 with the
controls
1. Switch the ign ition on.
2. Press and ho ld both outer buttons in the roof
headliner
c> page 40, fig. 34 until the LED @
turns off completely (after about 20 sec­ onds). This procedure clears the standard co­
des that were set at the factory and does
not
need to be repeated again to program the
other buttons .
3. Briefly press the button on the roof headliner
that you would like to program.
4. Wait until the LED @ begins to blink quickly.
Programming mode is active for 5 minutes .
5. Move in front of yo ur vehicle whi le holding
the original remote control for the system
that would like to program to a button in the roof headliner.

6. Hold the remote control up to the radiator
grille on your vehicle¢

7. Press and ho ld the remote control until the
turn signals on your veh icle blink . This may
take up to 30 seconds .

If the emergency flashers blink three times,
the programming was successful. If the
emergency flashers only blink one t ime, the
5 minute time limit for the programming has
ended or the programming was not success­
ful. Repeat the prog ramming from the third
step, or try changing the distance to the radi- ator grille . .,..

Wheels
Your vehicle has also been equipped with a TPMS
malfunction indicator to indicate when the sys ­
tem is not operating properly. The TPMS mal­
function indicator is combined with the low tire
pressure telltale. When the system detects a
malfunction, the telltale will flash for approxi ­
mately one minute and then remain continuously
illuminated . This sequence will continue upon
subsequent veh icle start-ups as long as the mal­
function ex ists.
When the malfunct ion indicator is illuminated,
the system may not be able to detect or signal low tire pressure as intended. TPMS malfunctions
may occur for a variety of reasons, incl uding the
installation of rep lacement or a lternate tires or
wheels on the vehicle that prevent the TPMS
from functioning properly. Always check the
TPMS malfunction tellta le after replacing one or
more tires or wheels on your vehicle to ensure
that the replacement or alternate tires and
wheels allow the TPMS to continue to function properly.

The tire pressure indicator in the instrument
cluster informs you if the tire pressure is too low
or if there is a system malfunction.

Using the ABS sensors, the tire pressure monitor­
ing system compares the tire tread circumference
and vibration characteristics of the individual
tires . If the pressure changes in one or more
tires, this is indicated in the instrument cluster
d isp lay w ith an ind icator light

If only one tire is affected, the location of that
tire will be indicated .
The tire pressures must be stored in the Infotain ­
ment system again each time the pressures
change (switching between partial and full load
pressure) or after changing or rep lacing a tire on
your vehicle ¢
page 215. The tire pressure moni­
toring system on ly monitors the tire pressure you
have stored. Refer to the tire pressure label for
the recommended tire pressure for your vehicle
¢ page 206, fig. 172 .
Tire tread circumference and vibration character­
istics can change and cause a tire pressure warn­
ing if:
- the t ire pressure in one or more tires is too low .
- the tire has structural damage.
- the tir e was replaced or the tire pressure was
changed and it was not stored

blinks for approximately one minute and then
stays on, there is system malfunction. Try to

after a short period of time, drive to your author­
i zed Audi dealer or qualified repair facility imme­
diately to have the ma lfunct ion corrected.
,&. WARNING
- If the tire pressure ind icator appears in the
display, reduce yo ur speed immediately and
avoid any hard steering or braking maneu­
vers. Stop as soon as possible and check the
tires and their pressure .
- The driver is responsible for maintaining the
correct tire pressure. You must check the
tire pressure regu larly. .,..

-Under certain cond itions (such as a sporty
dr iv ing style, winter cond itions or unpaved
roads), the t ire pressure monitoring system
indicator may be delayed .
- Do not use run-flat tires on your veh icle. Us­
ing them when not permitted can lead to
vehicle damage or accidents.
(D Tips
- The t ire pressure monitoring system can al­
so stop work ing when there is an ESC ma l­
funct ion.
- Using snow chains may result in a system
malfunction.
- The t ires with the ident ificat ion "RO"
c:> page 203 have been matched with your
Audi tire pressure monitoring system. We
recommend that you use these tires.
Storing tire pressures

If the tire pressure changes or a tire is replaced,
it must be confirmed in the Infotainment sys­
tem .
