tachment and minimize the possibility of improp
er child restr aint installation.
A ll child rest rain ts manufactured afte r Septem
ber 1 , 2002, must have lowe r anchorage attach
ments for the
LATCH system.
Remem ber that the lower anchorage po ints are
o nl y intended fo r insta llation and attachment of
ch ild restraints specifically ce rtified for use w ith
LATCH lower anchorages . Chi ld restraints that are
not equipped w ith the lower anchorage attach
ments can still be installed in compliance with
the chi ld restraint manufacturer 's instructions o n
us ing vehicle safety belts .
