Seats, restraints41
Each airbag is triggered only once.
Have deployed airbags replaced by
a workshop. Furthermore, it may be
necessary to have the steering
wheel, the instrument panel, parts of
the panelling, the door seals,
handles and the seats replaced.
Do not make any modifications to
the airbag system as this will
invalidate the vehicle type approval.
When the airbags inflate escaping hot gases may cause burns.
Fault If there is a fault in the airbag system,
the control indicator v illuminates and
a message or a warning code
appears in the Driver Information
Centre. The system is not
operational.
Have the cause of the fault remedied by a workshop.

3 86.Child restraint systems on front
passenger seat with airbag
systems Warning according to ECE R94.02:
EN: NEVER use a rearward-facing
child restraint on a seat protected by
an ACTIVE AIRBAG in front of it;
DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY to the
CHILD can occur.
DE: Nach hinten gerichtete
Kindersitze NIEMALS auf einem Sitz
verwenden, der durch einen davor
befindlichen AKTIVEN AIRBAG
BLESSURES GRAVES, voire
MORTELLES à l'ENFANT.
ES: NUNCA utilice un sistema de
retención infantil orientado hacia
atrás en un asiento protegido por un
AIRBAG FRONTAL ACTIVO. Peligro de MUERTE o LESIONES GRAVES
para el NIÑO.
RU: ЗАПРЕЩАЕТСЯ
устанавливать детское

Instruments and controls81Fuel gauge
Displays the fuel level.
During liquid gas operation, the gas
level in the tank is displayed.
Control indicator Y illuminates if the
level in the tank is low. Refuel
immediately if it flashes.
During liquid gas operation, the
system automatically switches over to
petrol operation when gas tanks are
empty 3 81.
Never run the tank dry.
Because of the fuel remaining in the
tank, the top-up quantity may be less
than the specified tank capacity.
Fuel selector
Press button LPG to switch between
petrol and liquid gas operation. The
LED in the button shows the current
operating mode.

152Driving and operatingCaution
Use of fuel that does not comply toEN 228 or E DIN 51626-1 or
equivalent can lead to deposits or
engine damage and may affect
your warranty.
Caution
Use of fuel with too low an octane
rating could lead to uncontrolled combustion and engine damage.
Fuel for liquid gas
operation Liquid gas is known as LPG
(Liquefied Petroleum Gas) or under
its French name GPL (Gaz de Pétrole Liquéfié). LPG is also known as
Autogas.
LPG consists mainly of propane and
butane. The octane rating is between
105 and 115, depending on the
butane proportion. LPG is stored
liquid at around 5 - 10 bar pressure.
The boiling point depends on the
pressure and mixing ratio. At ambient
pressure, it is between -42 °C (pure
propane) and -0.5 °C (pure butane).Caution
The system works at an ambient
temperature of approx. -8 °C to
100 °C.
Full function of the LPG system can
only be guaranteed with liquid gas
which complies with the minimum
requirements of DIN EN 589.
Fuel selector
Pressing the LPG button switches
between petrol and liquid gas
operation as soon as the required
parameters (coolant temperature,
gas temperature and minimum
engine speed) have been reached.
The requirements are usually fulfilled
after approx. 60 seconds (depending
on exterior temperature) and the first
firm press on the accelerator. The
LED status shows the current
operating mode.LED off=petrol operationLED illumi‐ nates=liquid gas operationLED
flashes=no switching is

fuel is empty
As soon as the liquid gas tanks are
empty, petrol operation is
automatically engaged until the
ignition is switched off.
Every six months, run the petrol tank
down until control indicator Y
illuminates, then refuel. This helps
maintain fuel quality and system
function for petrol operation.
