6To install a cowling
1. Connect the turn signal light lead
coupler.
2. Fit the projections on the cowling into the slots as shown. 3. Install the quick fasteners and the
quick fastener screws.

To remove a cowling
1. Remove cowling A (if removing cowling C) or cowling B (if remov-
ing cowling D). (See page 6-8.)
2. Remove the quick fastener screws. 3. Slide the cowling forward to un-
hook its projection from the slot,
and then pull the cowling off.

TIPTo access the fuel injection system
fuse, remove the starter relay cover by
pulling it upward.
If a fuse is blown, replace it as follows.1. Turn the key to “OFF” and turn off the electrical circuit in question.
2. Remove the blown fuse, and then install a new fuse of the specified

3. Turn the key to “ON” and turn on
the electrical circuit in question to
check if the device operates.
4. If the fuse immediately blows again, have a Yamaha dealer
check the electrical system.
