Speedometer unitThe speedometer unit is equipped with
a speedometer, an odometer and a
tripmeter. The speedometer shows rid-
ing speed. The odometer shows the
total distance traveled. The tripmeter
shows the distance traveled since it
was last set to zero with the reset knob.
The tripmeter can be used to estimate
the distance that can be traveled with a
full tank of fuel. This information will en-
able you to plan future fuel stops.

er to monitor the engine speed and

the bulb) by pushing it in.

fallin g over.1. Remove the rubber cap, and then
loosen the wheel axle nut.
2. Place the motorcycle on the cen- terstand. 3. Disconnect the speedometer ca-
ble from the front wheel.
4. Remove the wheel axle nut and the washer.
5. Pull the wheel axle out, and then remove the wheel. NOTICE: Do
not apply the b rake after the
wheel an d b rake disc have b een
remove d, otherwise the brake
pa ds will be forced shut.

To install the front wheel
1. Install the speedometer gear unit into the wheel hub so that the pro-
jections mesh with the slots.
2. Lift the wheel up between the fork legs.
TIPMake sure that there is enough space
between the brake pads before insert-
ing the brake disc and that the slot in
the speedometer gear unit fits over the
retainer on the fork leg.3. Insert the wheel axle, and then in-stall the washer and axle nut.
4. Take the motorcycle off the cen- terstand so that the front wheel is
on the ground, and then put the
sidestand down.
5. Tighten the axle nut to the speci- fied torque, and then install the
rubber cap so that it fits over the
washer. 6. While applying the front brake,
push down hard on the handle-
bars several times to check if the
front fork compresses and re-
bounds smoothly.
7. Connect the speedometer cable.
