Maintenance and care
Reinstall the fender liner.
Attach the end of the fender liner
to the inside of the front bumper.
Install the screw.
Front position lights/daytime running lights (bulb type)
Turn the bulb base counter-
clockwise.
Remove the light bulb.
When installing, reverse the steps listed.

Depress the mirror.

Align the tabs, and secure
the mirror by pushing in each
diagonally-opposite pair of
tabs in order.
Make sure to insert the tabs in
order as shown in the illustra-
tion, and push them in until a
click is heard.
If you do not hear the click, do
not force the tabs in. Instead,
remove the mirror and check
that the tabs are aligned.

Stop/tail lights (bulb type), and rear turn signal lights
Open the back door and
remove the cover.
To prevent damaging the vehi-
cle, wrap the screwdriver with a
tape.
Turn the bulb base counter-
clockwise.

Back-up light/rear fog light
Remove the clip and partly
remove the cover.
Pull the center section of the clip
and the remove and pull out the
lock.
Turn the bulb base counter-
clockwise.
Remove the light bulb.
After installing the new bulb,
reinstall the clip.
When installing the clip, insert
the clip in and push the center of
the clip.

WARNING
Replacing light bulbs
Turn off the lights. Do not attempt to replace the bulb immediately after
turning off the lights.
The bulbs become very hot and may cause burns.
Do not touch the glass portion of the light bulb with bare hands. When it is
unavoidable to hold the glass portion, use and hold with a clean dry cloth
to avoid getting moisture and oils on the bulb.
Also, if the bulb is scratched or dropped, it may blow out or crack.
Fully install light bulbs and any parts used to secure them. Failure to do so
may result in heat damage, fire, or water entering the headlight unit. This
may damage the headlights or cause condensation to build up on the lens.
To prevent damage or fire
Make sure bulbs are fully seated and locked.
Check the wattage of the bulb before installing to prevent heat damage.

Vehicles with a smart entry &
start system: To stop the hybrid
system, press and hold the
power switch for 3 consecutive
seconds or more, or press it
briefly 3 times or more in suc-
cession.
Stop the vehicle in a safe place by the road.
Press and hold for 3 seconds or
more, or press briefly 3 times or more

WARNING
If the hybrid system has to be turned off while driving
Power assist for the steering wheel will be lost, making the steering wheel
heavier to turn. Decelerate as much as possible before turning off the
hybrid system.
Vehicles without a smart entry & start system: Never attempt to remove
the key, as doing so will lock the steering wheel.

Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury.
When towing the vehicle
While towing
When towing using a rope, avoid sudden starts, etc. which place exces-
sive stress on the towing hook and rope.
The towing hook or rope may become damaged, broken debris may hit
people and cause serious damage.
Vehicles without a smart entry & start system: Do not turn the power
switch to the “LOCK” position.
There is a possibility that the steering wheel is locked and can not be oper-
ated.
Vehicles with a smart entry & start system: Do not turn the power switch
off.
There is a possibility that the steering wheel is locked and can not be oper-
ated.
Installing towing eyelet to the vehicle
Make sure that towing eyelet is installed securely.
If not securely installed, towing eyelet may come loose during towing.
NOTICE
To prevent damage to the vehicle when towing using a wheel-lift type
truck
When raising the vehicle, ensure adequate ground clearance for towing at
the opposite end of the raised vehicle. Without adequate clearance, the
vehicle could be damaged while being towed.
To prevent body damage when towing with a sling-type truck
Do not tow with a sling-type truck, either from the front or rear.
Be sure to transport the vehicle with the
front wheels raised or with all four wheels
raised off the ground.
If the vehicle is towed with the front
wheels contacting the ground, the drive-
train and related parts may be damaged
or electricity generated by the operation
of the motor may cause a fire to occur
depending on the nature of the damage
or malfunction.
