■ The middle rear headrest is only adjustable in two positions.■For the sports seats, the headrests are integrated into the front seat backr-
ests. This headrest cannot be adjusted in height.

The removal and installation of headrests is the same in the front and rear.
Before removal and installation of the headrests, fold the respective seat
backrest forward slightly.

Pull the headrest out of the seat backrest as far as the stop.

To re-insert the headrest, push it far enough down in the direction of arrow

into the seat backrest until the locking button clicks into place.

Switch the cooling system on/off
After the cooling system is switched off, only the ventilation function remains
active, whereby the lowest temperature that can be reached is the outside
temperature.
Setting temperature
The set temperature value appears in the display (pos. 2
» Fig. 110 ).
The interior temperature can be set between +16 ℃ and +29 ℃. The interior
temperature is regulated automatically within this range.
If you set the temperature to below +16 °C, “LO” appears in the display. If you set the temperature to higher than +29 ℃, “HI” appears in the display.
1234567891011At both end positions, Climatronic runs at maximum cooling/heating output
and the temperature is automatically not regulated.
Switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit
Press buttons

simultaneously and hold for about 2 seconds.
The information appears in the display in the desired temperature measure-
ment unit (pos. 3
» Fig. 110 ).
Controlling blower
The Climatronic system controls the blower stages automatically in line with
the interior- and ambient temperatures. However, the blower level can be
manually adjusted to suit your particular needs.
If the blower speed is reduced to a minimum, Climatronic is switched off.
The set blower speed is indicated by the corresponding number of segments
(pos.

» Fig. 110 ) in the display.
Automatic mode
The automatic mode is used in order to maintain a constant temperature and
to demist the windows in the interior of the car.

Automatic mode can be switched off by pressing any of the air distribution
buttons or by increasing/decreasing the blower speed. The temperature is
nevertheless regulated.
WARNING■ Do not switch off the Climatronic system for longer than necessary.■Switch on the Climatronic system as soon as the windows mist up.
Note
■Do not stick anything onto or cover the interior temperature sensor 11» Fig. 110 as this can have an unfavourable effect on the Climatronic system.■
As soon as the windscreen mists up, press the symbol button
. Press the
button once the windscreen has demisted.
■
During operation of the Climatronic, under certain circumstances an increase
in engine idle speed can occur in order to ensure adequate heating comfort.

If the driver fails to respond to the acute warning, the system starts to apply
the brakes automatically with increasing stopping power in several stages.
Brake assist
If the driver brakes inadequate with an impending collision, the system auto-
matically increases braking force.
The braking assistance only occurs as long as the brake pedal is being firmly
pressed down.
Note
■ If an automatic brake intervention is triggered by the system, the pressure in
the brake system increases and the brake pedal cannot be operated with the
normal pedal stroke.■
The automatic braking interventions can be cancelled by pressing the accel-
erator pedal or by steering intervention.

Disable / enable and setting in the Infotainment
In the Infotainment the entire system or the functions warning and distance warning can be disabled / enabled » Operating instructions Infotainment ,
chapter CAR - Vehicle Settings .
After switching off and switching on the ignition system several times the
functions warning and distance warning remain either activated or deactivated
depending on the last setting.
WARNINGIn the following situations, Front Assistant should be switched off for safe-
ty reasons.■
When the vehicle is being towed away.
■
When the vehicle is on a rolling test bench.
■
If an unfounded warning or a system action was taken.
■
When on a truck, or a car ferry service or similar.

Note
Replacing the battery in the key a glued decorative cover requires the cover to
be destroyed. A replacement cover can be purchased from a ŠKODA Partner.
Synchronising the remote control

If the vehicle does not unlock when the remote control is pressed, the key maynot be synchronised. This can occur when the buttons on the remote control
key are actuated a number of times outside of the operative range of the
equipment or the battery in the remote control key has been replaced.
Synchronise the key as follows.

Press any button on the remote control key.
›
Unlock the door with the key in the lock cylinder within 1 minute of pressing the button.

The driver's door can be unlocked or locked in an emergency.

Pull on the door handle and hold it pulled.

Insert the vehicle key into the slot on the bottom of the cover » Fig. 184.

Open the cover in the direction of the arrow.

Release the door handle.

For vehicles with LHD insert the remote control key with the buttons facing
up into the lock cylinder and unlock or lock the vehicle.

For vehicles with RHD insert the remote control key directed with buttons
down into the lock cylinder and unlock or lock the vehicle.
›
Pull on the door handle and hold it pulled.
›
Replace the cap in its original position.

Make sure you do not damage the paint when performing an emergency lock-
