Regularly check your vehicle for signs of damage. Damaged or missing aerodynamic components such as spoilers or underside panels affect the driving behavior and therefore must be replaced immediately.
Your car may have all or some of the components described in this manual.Should you have difficulty understanding any of the explanations of features or equipment installed in your vehicle, contact your authorized Porsche dealer. He/She will be glad to assist you. Also check with your dealer on other available options or equipment.
Throughout this booklet, left is designated as the driver's side of the vehicle, and right as the passenger's side of the vehicle.Text, illustrations and specifications in this manual are based on the information available at the time of printing.
It has always been Porsche’s policy to continuously improve its products. Porsche, therefore, reserves the right to make changes in design and specification, and to make additions or improvements in its product without incurring any obligation to install them on products previously manufactured.

Sport tires
Sport tires (ultra high performance tires) are approved for use on public highways and comply with all statutory requirements and safety criteria.
The design of the tire is also geared towards use on racing circuits (driver safety training courses, sports driving schools, Club Sport events) and provides distinct advantages here in terms of dry grip and wear compared to conventional road tires.
The major features are a reduced tread depth and a special tread pattern and carcass.
The design features of this sports tire result in the following effects compared with other summer tires when used under normal driving conditions:– Sport tires have a smaller tread depth, and thus can reach their wear limit sooner. As with all tires, the attainable mileage depends on the individual driving style and the conditions of use.– Exercise caution when driving on wet roads, paying special attention to hydroplaning situations (stagnant water, puddles, lane grooves). Sport tires have a lower tread depth than normal tires and you must therefore adapt speed accordingly when driving on wet surfaces.– The driver’s skill level must be commensurate with the vehicle performance levels in the upper range limits, due to increased safety risks in the upper range limits. fSport tires are not suitable for use in cold, snowy or icy conditions. At outside temperatures below 45 °F (7 °C) change to snow tires. fNotify anyone using your car of these characteristics and possible effects.

USB/iPod® and AUX
The USB/iPod® and AUX interfaces are located in the glove box.fPlease refer to the chapter “EXTERNAL AUDIO SOURCE” in the separate PCM operating instructions.
Information
Do not leave your iPod®, USB storage device or an external audio source in the vehicle for extended periods of time because extreme ambient conditions (temperature fluctuations, humidity) can occur in the vehicle.
Voice Control
Porsche Communication Management (PCM) can be operated by spoken commands using the voice control system.fPlease refer to the chapter “VOICE CONTROL” in the separate PCM operating instructions.
Activating voice control
fPress button .An acoustic signal sounds and help text for using the five most important voice commands appears on the multi-function display in the instrument panel.Simply say the command.
For information on switching the help text on and off on the multi-function display: fPlease see the chapter “DISPLAYING PCM INFORMATION ON THE MULTI-FUNCTION DISPLAY” on page 119.

260 Minor Repairs
5.The polygon tool contains an auxiliary tool. Remove this from the square and replace it afterwards.Use the auxiliary tool to carefully lever the wheel-hub cap out of its seating. For this purpose, insert the metal tongue of the auxiliary tool deep into the opening groove A on the central bolt and then swivel the handle back.
6. Position the polygon tool and insert it until it engages . This opens the safety lock on the central bolt.
Information
A very high torque is required to loosen the central bolt, especially if it has not been opened in a long time.
fTurn in the correct direction.fMake sure there is sufficient clearance so that neither people nor vehicle parts will be harmed if the lever breaks away.fThe wheel should be prevented from turning by getting a second person to brake firmly using the brake pedal.fHold the steering wheel securely when loosening the front wheels.
Risk of damage to the central bolt lock.fWhen loosening the central bolt, make sure that the tool remains pushed on fully and does not slide out of position.
7. Unscrew the central bolt and set it down in such a way that no dirt can enter the cone area or the thread.

262 Minor Repairs
Information
The vehicle must not be standing on the wheel to be secured during fitting.
12. Insert the central bolt into the polygon tool (until it engages), fit the central bolt at right angles to the wheel hub and screw it on without tilting.13.Tighten the central bolt to 443 ftlb. (600 Nm) using a suitable torque wrench. Prevent the resultant turning of the wheel by getting a second person to firmly press the brake pedal. Hold the steering wheel securely when tightening the front wheels.
14. Loosen the central bolt again by 1/4 turn. 15. Tighten the central bolt again to 443 ftlb. (600 Nm) .
Information
If you do not have a suitable torque wrench in a breakdown situation, the emergency procedure for fastening the central bolt must be performed.fPlease see the chapter “CENTRAL BOLT EMERGENCY FASTENING” on page 263.
16. Remove the polygon tool and check whether the locking pin C has already automatically engaged in the central bolt. The locking pin then completely covers the inner teeth of the central bolt. The locking pin is usually still in the rear position and must be turned to the left and right slightly using the auxiliary tool until it engages with spring force in the central bolt.
