In automated mode, you can resume control
temporarily at any time using the steering
mounted control paddles.
The use of these paddles permits manual
selection of the gears in situations which
require a more rapid change-down than in
the automated mode (arrival at a roundabout,
leaving a car park with a steep gradient,
over taking...).
The gearbox engages the required gear if
the engine speed permits. AUTO remains
displayed in the instrument panel.
After a few moments, the gearbox resumes
automatic control of the gears.
For best acceleration, when overtaking
another vehicle for example, press the
accelerator pedal firmly to pass the
point of resistance.
Automated mode
F Following use of manual mode, select position A to return to automated mode.
AUTO and the gear engaged appear
in the instrument panel.
The gearbox then operates in auto-adaptive
mode, without any action on the part of the
driver. It continuously selects the most suitable

This function makes manoeuvring the vehicle
smoother at low speeds (when parking, in a
traffic jam, …).
With the engine running at idle, brakes
released and A , M or R selected, the vehicle
moves as soon as you take your foot of the
brake pedal (even if you do not touch the
accelerator pedal).
For your safety, this function is activated only
if you press the brake pedal while engaging
for ward drive or reverse.
It is deactivated on opening the driver's
door. Close the door, then press the brake or
accelerator pedal to reactivate the function.
* Only on petrol engines.
"Auto sequential" mode
The vehicle does not move without
pressing the accelerator pedal if the
gear lever had stayed in position N for
more than 2 seconds , with the engine
running and the brake pedal was not
pressed before selecting the position
A,
M or R .

not be possible to move the vehicle.
In both cases, you must apply the parking
brake to immobilise the vehicle.
When immobilising the vehicle, with
the engine running, you must place the
gear lever in neutral N .
Before carrying out any work in the
engine compartment, check that the
gear lever is in neutral N and that the
parking brake is applied.
Operating fault

Moving off
When the engine is running at idle, with
the brakes released, if position R , D
or M is selected, the vehicle moves
even without the accelerator being
pressed.
When the engine is running, never
leave children in the vehicle without
supervision.
When carrying out maintenance with
the engine running, apply the parking
brake and select position P .
If position N is selected inadvertently
while driving, allow the engine to
return to idle then select position D to
accelerate.
If the ambient temperature is
below
-23°C, the engine should be left
at idle for four minutes, to ensure the
correct operation and life of the engine
and gearbox. Never select position N while the
vehicle is moving.
Never select positions P or R unless the
vehicle is completely stationary.
Automatic operation
F Select position D for automatic
changing
of the four gears.
The gearbox then operates in auto-adaptive
mode, without any intervention on the part
of the driver. It continuously selects the most
suitable gear according to the style of driving,
the profile of the road and the load in the
vehicle.
For maximum acceleration without touching the
gear lever, press the accelerator pedal down
fully (kick down). The gearbox changes down
automatically or maintains the gear selected
until the maximum engine speed is reached.
On braking, the gearbox changes down
automatically to provide efficient engine
braking.
If you release the accelerator sharply, the
gearbox will not change to a higher gear for
safety reasons.
