HOW TO READ THE DISPLAYED
LINES
Guiding lines which indicate the vehicle width
and distances to objects with reference to the
vehicle body line

With the shift lever in the R (Reverse) posi-

2. Select the “Show Guidelines” key to toggle the feature on or off.

The distance guide line and the vehicle width
guide line should be used as a reference only
when the vehicle is on a level, paved surface. The
distance viewed on the monitor is for reference
only and may be different than the actual distance
between the vehicle and displayed objects.
Backing up on a steep uphill
When backing up the vehicle up a hill, the dis-
tance guide lines and the vehicle width guide
lines are shown closer than the actual distance.
For example, the display shows 3 ft (1.0 m) to the
place
A, but the actual 3 ft (1.0 m) distance onthe hill is the place
B. Note that any object on
the hill is further than it appears on the monitor.

When backing up the vehicle down a hill, the
distance guide lines and the vehicle width guide
lines are shown farther than the actual distance.

There are some areas where the system will not
show objects. When in the front or rearview
display, an object below the bumper or on the
ground may not be viewed

bird-eye view, a tall object near the seam of the
camera viewing areas will not appear in the moni-
tor

monitor are closer than they appear.
Use the mirrors or actually look to prop-
erly judge distances to other objects.
● Objects in the rearview will appear visu-
ally opposite than when viewed in the
rearview and outside mirrors.
● On a snow-covered or slippery road,
there may be a difference between the
predictive course lines and the actual
course line. ●

Predictive course lines

the vehicle. The predictive course lines will be
displayed on the monitor when the steering
wheel is turned. The predictive course lines will
move depending on how much the steering
wheel is turned and will not be displayed while
the steering wheel is in the neutral position.
The front view will not be displayed when the
vehicle speed is above 6 mph (10 km/h). NOTE:
When the monitor displays the front view
and the steering wheel turns about 90 de-
grees or less from the neutral position,
both the right and left predictive course
lines
6are displayed. When the steering
wheel turns about 90 degrees or more, a
line is displayed only on the opposite side
of the turn.

Bird’s-eye view
The bird’s-eye view shows the overhead view of
the vehicle, which helps confirm the vehicle po-
sition and the predicted course to a parking
space.
The vehicle icon
1shows the position of the
vehicle. Note that the distance between objects
viewed in the bird’s-eye view differs from the
actual distance.
The areas that the cameras cannot cover
2are
indicated in black.
After the ignition switch is placed in the ON
position, the non-viewable area
2is highlighted in yellow for three seconds after the bird’s-eye
view is displayed. In addition, the non-viewable
corners are displayed in red and blink for the first
three seconds
3to remind the driver to be
cautious.
WARNING
● Objects in the bird’s-eye view will ap-
pear further than the actual distance
because the bird’s-eye view is a pseudo
view that is processed by combining the
views from the cameras on the outside
mirrors, the front and the rear of the
vehicle.
● Tall objects, such as a curb or vehicle,
may be misaligned or not displayed at
the seam of the views.
● Objects that are above the camera can-
not be displayed.
● The view of the bird’s-eye view may be
misaligned when the camera position
alters.
● A line on the ground may be misaligned
and is not seen as being straight at the
seam of the views. The misalignment
will increase as the line proceeds away
from the vehicle.

Guiding lines:
Guiding lines that indicate the width and the front
end of the vehicle are displayed on the monitor.
The front-of-vehicle line

Troubleshooting guide:
SymptomCause and Countermeasure
Cannot play Check if the disc was inserted correctly.
Check if the disc is scratched or dirty.
Check if there is condensation inside the player. If there is, wait until the condensation is gone (about 1 hour) before using the player.
If there is a temperature increase error, the CD player will play correctly after it returns to the normal temperature.
If there is a mixture of music CD files (CD-DA data) and MP3/WMA files on a CD, only the music CD files (CD-DA data) will be played.
Files with extensions other than “.MP3”,“.WMA”, “.mp3” or “.wma” cannot be played. In addition, the character codes and number of characters for
folder names and file names should be in compliance with the specifications.
Check if the finalization process, such as session close and disc close, is done for the disc.
Check if the disc is protected by copyright.
Poor sound quality Check if the disc is scratched or dirty.
Bit rate may be too low.
It takes a relatively long time
before the music starts
playing. If there are many folders or file levels on the MP3/WMA disc, or if it is a multisession disc, some time may be required before the music starts playing.
Music cuts off or skips
The writing software and hardware combination might not match, or the writing speed, writing depth, writing width, etc., might not match the
specifications. Try using the slowest writing speed.
Skipping with high bit rate
files Skipping may occur with large quantities of data, such as for high bit rate data.
Moves immediately to the
next song when playing When a non-MP3/WMA file has been given an extension of “.MP3”, “.WMA”, .“mp3”or “.wma”, or when play is prohibited by copyright protection, there
will be approximately 5 seconds of no sound and then the player will skip to the next song.
Songs do not play back in
the desired order The playback order is the order in which the files were written by the writing software. Therefore, the files might not play in the desired order.

TIRE LABELING
Federal law requires tire manufacturers to
place standardized information on the
sidewall of all tires. This information iden-
tifies and describes the fundamental
characteristics of the tire and also pro-
vides the tire identification number (TIN)
for safety standard certification. The TIN
can be used to identify the tire in case of a
recall.
1Tire size (example: P215/65R15 95H)
1. P: The “P” indicates the tire is de- signed for passenger vehicles (not all
tires have this information) .
2. Three-digit number (215): This num- ber gives the width in millimeters of
the tire from sidewall edge to side-
wall edge.
3. Two-digit number (65): This number, known as the aspect ratio, gives the
tire’s ratio of height to width. 4. R: The “R” stands for radial.
5. Two-digit number (15): This number
is the wheel or rim diameter in inches.
6. Two- or three-digit number (95): This number is the tire’s load index. It is a
measurement of how much weight
each tire can support. You may not
find this information on all tires be-
cause it is not required by law.
7. H: Tire speed rating. You should not drive the vehicle faster than the tire
speed rating.
