When the ignition switch is turned to the “ON” position from the “ACC” or “LOCK” position, the mode setting changes automatically from manual toauto. Switching to auto occurs automatically. If switching to manual mode is done, how-ever, the data from the last reset is dis- played. When the average fuel consumption is being displayed, if you hold down the multi-information meter switch, these cal-culations will be reset to zero. When the ignition switch has been set to the “ACC” or “LOCK” position for about4 hours or more, the average fuel con- sumption display will automatically reset.
While driving, the momentary fuel consump- tion is shown with a bar graph. When the momentary fuel consumption sur- passes the average fuel consumption, themomentary fuel consumption is displayed with a green bar graph. Be conscious of maintaining the momentaryfuel consumption above the average fuel con- sumption, it can help you drive with the better fuel consumption.
The S-AWC operation status is displayed. For further details, refer to “S-AWC opera- tion display” on page 5-73. The “Display language”, “Temperature unit”, “Fuel consumption unit”, and “Average fuel

The average speed display and the average fuel consumption display can be reset sepa-rately in both auto reset mode and manual reset mode. “---” is displayed when the average fuel con- sumption cannot be measured. The initial (default) setting is “Auto reset mode”.
Average fuel consumption may vary depend on the driving conditions (road conditions, how you drive, etc.) The actual fuel con- sumption may differ from the fuel consump- tion displayed, so treat the fuel consumptiondisplayed as just a rough guideline. The average fuel consumption display mem- ories for auto reset mode and manual reset mode are erased if the battery is discon- nected. The display setting can be changed to the preferred units {mpg (US), mpg (UK),L/100km or km/L}. Refer to “Changing the function settings (With ignition switch in the “ON” position)”on page 5-103.

The Bluetooth
® 2.0 interface is equipped
with a voice recognition function.Simply say voice commands and you can per- form various operations and make or receive hands-free calls. With the Bluetooth

When the voice guide says “English (Spanish or French) selected,” the lan-guage change process will be completed and the system will return to the main menu.
NOTE
If a cellular phone is within close proximity of the microphone, it may distort the sound quality. In this case, place the cellular phoneas far as possible from the microphone.
Voice recognition function
NOTE
If the voice command that you say differs from the predefined command or cannot berecognized due to ambient noise or some other reason, the Bluetooth
® 2.0 interface
will ask you for the voice command again upto 3 times.
For best performance and further reduction of ambient noise, the vehicle windows should be closed, lower the blower speed and refrain from conversation with your passen- gers while engaging the voice recognitionfunction. Some voice commands have alternative commands. Depending on the selected language, some functions may not be available.
Selecting the language
NOTE
NOTE
The voice guide will repeat the same mes- sage twice. The first message is in the cur-rent language, and the second message is in the selected language. The Bluetooth
® 2.0 interface can use the
speaker enrollment function to create a voicemodel for one person per language. This makes it easier for the Bluetooth
® 2.0
interface to recognise voice commands said by you. You can turn a voice model registered with the speaker enrollment function on and off whenever you want.
N00564801107
It takes about 2 to 3 minutes to complete thespeaker enrollment process. To ensure the best results, run through the process while in the driver’s seat, in an envi- ronment that is as quiet as possible (whenthere is no rain or strong winds and the vehi- cle windows are closed). Please turn off your phone while in speaker enrollment to preventinterruption of the process. Use the following procedure for speaker enrollment.
NOTE
Passcode will be required to access the sys- tem after the next ignition cycle. It is required for a little time after engine stop that the entered passcode is actuallyrecorded in the system. If the ignition switch is made to “ACC” or “ON” or the engine is started immediatelyafter engine stop, there is a case when the entered passcode is not recorded in the sys- tem. At this time, please try to enter the pass-code again.
Entering the passcode
NOTE
You can reenter the passcode as many times as you want. If you have forgotten your passcode, say “Cancel” to quit the voice input mode andthen check with an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer.
Disabling the passcode
NOTE
System must be unlocked to disable the pass- code.
