X Press the 0002or0005 button on the
steering wheel to select the Tel menu.
You will see one of the following display
messages in the multifunction display:
R Phone READY or the name of the network
provider: the mobile phone has found a
network and is ready to receive.
R Phone No Service : there is no network
available or the mobile phone is searching
for a network.
Accepting acall If someone calls you whe
nyou are in the
Tel menu, a display message appears in the
multifunction display, for example: Example: incoming call
X
Press the 0003button on the steering
wheel to accept an incoming call.
You can accept a call even if you are not in
the Tel menu.
Rejecting or ending acall X
Press the 000Abutton on the steering
wheel.
You can end or reject a call even if you are not
in the Tel menu. Dialing an entry from the phone book X
Press the 0002or0005 button on the
steering wheel to select the Tel menu.
X Press the 0003,0004or000B button to
switch to the phone book.
X Press the 0003or0004 button to select the
desired name.

X To begin rapid scrolling: press and hold
the 0003 or0004 button for longer than
one second.
Rapid scrolling stops whe nyou release the
button or reach the end of the list.
X If only one telephone number is stored
for a name: press the0003or000B button
to start dialing.
or
X If there is more than one number for a
particular name: press the0003or000B
button to display the numbers.
X Press the 0003or0004 button to select the
number you want to dial.
X Press the 0003or000B button to start
dialing.

X To exit the telephone book: press the
000A or0006 button.
Redialing The on-board computer saves the last names
or numbers dialed in the redial memory.

Press the 0002or0005 button on the
steering wheel to select the Tel menu.
X Press the 0003button to switch to the
redial memory.
X Press the 0003or0004 button to select the
desired name or number.
X Press the 0003or000B button to start
dialing.

RACETIMER
Displaying and starting RACETIMER
The RACETIMER is only intended for use on a
closed race circuit. Do not use the function
on public roads.
You can use the RACETIMER to store lap
times.
X Press 0002or0005 on the steering wheel
to select the AMG menu.
X Press the 0003button repeatedly until the
RACETIMER is shown.
i If the RACETIMER is selected, the 0002
and 0005 buttons canno tbe used to call up
the menu bar. 0002
Lap
0003 RACETIMER
You can start the RACETIMER when the
engine is running or if the SmartKey is in
position 2in the ignition lock.
X To start: press the 000Bbutton to start the
RACETIMER.
Displaying the intermediate time X
Press the 0002or0005 button to select
Interm. Time .
X Press 000Bto confirm.
The intermediate time is displayed for five
seconds. Starting a new lap
X
Press 000Bto confirm New Lap .

i It is possible to store a maximum of
sixteen laps. The 16th lap can only be
completed with Finish Lap .
Stopping the RACETIMER
X Press the 0006button on the steering
wheel. X
Press 000Bto confirm Yes .
The RACETIMER interrupts timing when you
stop the vehicle and turn the SmartKey to
position 1in the ignition lock. If you turn the
key to position 2or 3and then press 000Bto
confirm Start , timing is continued.
Resetting the current lap
X Stop the RACETIMER.
X Press the 0002or0005 buttonto select
Reset Lap .
X Press 000Bto reset the lap time to "0".
Deleting all laps
If you switch off the engine, the RACETIMER
is reset to "0" after 30 seconds. All laps are
deleted. 220

Brake Immediately A malfunction has occurred while the HOLD function or
DISTRONIC PLUS is active.
At
one may also sound at regular intervals. If you attempt to lock
the vehicle, the tone becomes louder.
You cannot start the engine.
X Paying attention to the traffic situation, immediately depress the
brake pedal firmly and hold until the display message
disappears.
X Use the folding wheel chock (Y page 339) from the vehicle tool
kit to secure the vehicle against rolling away.

Check Brake Fluid Level There is not enough brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir.
In addition, the
000B(USA only)/0005 (Canada only) warning
lamp lights up in the instrument cluster and a warning tone
sounds.
G WARNING
The braking effect may be impaired.
There is a risk of an accident.
X Pull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, paying
attention to road and traffic conditions. Do not continue driving
under any circumstances.
X Secure the vehicle against rolling away (Y page 164).
X Consult a qualified specialist workshop.
X Do not add brake fluid. This does not correct the malfunction. 0006

Wear The brake pads/linings have reached their wear limit.

electromagnetic radiation emitted by nearby TV or radio
stations or other sources of electromagnetic radiation.
R AMG vehicles: ESP ®
is deactivated.
R the system is outside the operating temperature range.
R the on-board voltage is too low.
When the causes stated above no longer apply, the display
message disappears.
PRE-SAFE ®
Brake is operational again.
If the display message does not disappear:
X Pull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, paying
attention to road and traffic conditions.
X Secure the vehicle against rolling away (Y page 164).
X Clean the sensors in the radiator grill and the bumper
(Y page 295).
X Restart the engine.

Service Required There is a malfunction in the SRS (Supplemental Restraint
System). The
001Ewarning lamp also lights up in the instrument
cluster.
G WARNING
The air bags or Emergency Tensioning Devices may either be
triggered unintentionally or, in the event of an accident, may not
be triggered.
There is an increased risk of injury.

X Pull over and stop the vehicle safely and switch off the engine,
paying attention to road and traffic conditions.
X Secure the vehicle against rolling away (Y page 164).
X Waitu ntil the engine has cooled down.
X Make sure tha tthe air supply to the engine radiator is not
blocked, e.g. by snow, slush or ice.
X Do not start the engine again until the display message goes out
and the coolant temperature is below 248 ‡ (120 †).
Otherwise, the engine could be damaged.
X Pay attention to the coolant temperature display.
X If the temperature increases again, visit a qualified specialist
workshop immediately.
Under normal operating conditions and with the specified coolant
level, the coolant temperature may rise to 248 ‡ (120 †). 234

With tire pressures which are too low, there is a ris kofthe
following hazards:
R they may burst, especially as the load and vehicle speed
increase.
R they may wear excessively and/or unevenly, which may greatly
impair tire traction.
R the driving characteristics, as well as steering and braking, may
be greatly impaired.
There is a risk of an accident.
X Stop the vehicle without making any sudden steering or braking
maneuvers. Pay attention to the traffic conditions as you do so.
X Secure the vehicle against rolling away (Y page 164).
X Check the tires and, if necessary, follow the instructions for a
flat tire (Y page 301).
X Check the tire pressures and, if necessary, correct the tire
pressure.
X Restart the tire pressure loss warning system when the tire
pressure is correct (Y page 321).Check Tire Pressure
