Use the AGILITY SELECT switch to change the drive program. Depending on the drive pro-
gram selected, the following vehicle charac-
teristics will change:

tion (Y page 186)
R the climate control settings

If the ignition is switched off for less than four hours, the previously selected drive program
is activated when the engine is next started. If
the ignition is switched off for more than four hours, drive program Cis activated when the
engine is next started. X

then have to steer and merge into traffic on
your own. PARKTRONIC is still available. You
can take over the steering before the vehicle has exited the parking space completely. This is useful, for example when you recognise
that it is already possible to pull out of the
parking space.
Cancelling Active Parking Assist X
Stop the movement of the multifunction
steering wheel or steer yourself.
Active Parking Assist will be cancelled at
once. The Park Assist cancelled

PARKTRONIC is switched off and Active
Parking Assist is immediately cancelled.

Active Parking Assist is cancelled automati-
cally if:
R the electric parking brake is applied
R transmission position Pis selected in vehi-
cles with automatic transmission
R parking using Active Parking Assist is no
longer possible
R you are driving faster than 10 km/h
R a wheel spins and ESP ®
intervenes or fails.
The ÷ warning lamp lights up in the
instrument cluster.
A warning tone sounds. The parking symbol
disappears and the multifunction display
shows the Park Assist cancelled
Park Assist cancelled mes-
sage.
When Active Parking Assist is cancelled, you
must steer and brake again yourself.
If a system malfunction occurs, the vehicle is braked to a standstill. To drive on, depress the
accelerator pedal again. Reversing camera

:is in the boot lid handle.
Reversing camera :is an optical parking
and manoeuvring aid. It shows the area
behind your vehicle with guidelines in the
Audio 20/COMAND Online display.
The area behind the vehicle is displayed as a
mirror image, as in the rear-view mirror.
i The text shown in the Audio 20/COMAND
Online display depends on the language
setting. The following are examples of
reversing camera messages in the
Audio 20/COMAND Online display.
Important safety notes The reversing camera is only an aid. It is not a
substitute for your attention to the immediate surroundings. The responsibility for safe
manoeuvring and parking remains with you.
Make sure that there are no persons, animals
or objects in range while manoeuvring and
parking.
Under the following circumstances, the
reversing camera will not function, or will
function in a limited manner:
R if the boot lid is open
R in heavy rain, snow or fog
R at night or in very dark places
R if the camera is exposed to very bright light
R if the area is lit by fluorescent bulbs or LED
lighting (the display may flicker) 244

R
if there is a sudden change in temperature,
e.g. when driving into a heated garage in
winter
R if the camera lens is dirty or obstructed.

R if the rear of your vehicle is damaged. In this
case, have the camera position and setting checked at a qualified specialist workshop.
The field of vision and other functions of the
reversing camera may be restricted due to
additional accessories on the rear of the vehi-
cle (e.g. licence plate holder, bicycle rack).
i The reversing camera is protected from
raindrops and dust by means of a flap.
When the reversing camera is activated,
this flap opens.
The flap closes again when:
R you have finished the manoeuvring proc-
ess
R you switch off the engine
R you open the boot
Observe the notes on cleaning
(Y page 401).
For technical reasons, the flap may remain
open briefly after the reversing camera has been deactivated.

The reversing camera flap opens. The area
behind the vehicle is shown with guide lines
in the Audio 20/COMAND Online display.
The image from the reversing camera is
available throughout the manoeuvring
process.
X To change the function mode for vehi-
cles with trailer tow hitch: using the
Audio 20/COMAND controller, select sym-
bol :for the "Reverse parking" function or
symbol ;for "Coupling up a trailer".
The symbol of the selected function is high-
lighted.

COMAND controller, see the Digital Owner's
Manual.
To deactivate: the reversing camera deacti-
vates if you shift the transmission to Por after
driving forwards a short distance.
Messages in the Audio 20/COMAND
Online display The reversing camera may show a distorted
view of obstacles or show them incorrectly or
not at all. Obstacles are not shown by the
reversing camera in the following locations:
R very close to the rear bumper
R under the rear bumper
R in the area immediately above the tailgate
handle
! Objects not at ground level may appear to
be further away than they actually are, e.g.:
R the bumper of a parked vehicle
R the drawbar of a trailer

The distance between the trailer drawbar

You can also use the reversing camera to
select a wide-angle view.
When PARKTRONIC is operational
(Y page 237), a symbol for your own vehicle
appears in the Audio 20/COMAND Online
display. If the PARKTRONIC warning displays
are active, warning displays =light up in the
Audio 20/COMAND Online display in yellow
or red respectively. Object detection The reversing camera helps detect moving
and stationary objects. If an object (person,
vehicle or other obstacle) is detected, this
object is marked with a bar. Objects located
some distance from the vehicle away are
marked with a yellow bar. If the distance to
the object is very small, the bar is displayed in red.
Object detection only works in full screen
mode.
To ensure that you can use the function, it
must be switched on in Audio 20/COMAND
Online, see the separate operating instruc-
tions. 360° camera (surround view)
General notes The 360° camera is a camera system that
consists of four cameras.
The system evaluates images from the fol-
lowing cameras:
R reversing camera
R front camera
R two cameras in the exterior mirrors
The cameras cover the immediate surround-
ings of the vehicle. The system assists you,
e.g. when parking or at exits with reduced
visibility.
You can show pictures from the 360° camera in full-screen mode or in seven different split-
screen views on the COMAND/Audio 20 dis- play. A split-screen view also includes a top
view of the vehicle. This view is calculated
from the data supplied by the installed cam-
eras (virtual camera).
The seven split-screen views are:
R top view and image from the reversing cam-
era (130° viewing angle)
R top view and image from the front camera
(130° viewing angle without displaying the
maximum steering wheel angle)

When the function is active and you shift the
transmission from Dor Rto N, the guidelines
in the COMAND display are hidden.
When you change between transmission
positions Dand R, you see the previously
selected front or rear view.
Important safety notes The 360° camera is only an aid and may show
a distorted view of obstacles, show them
incorrectly or not at all. The 360° camera is
not a substitute for attentive driving.
You are responsible for safe manoeuvring and
parking. Make sure that there are no persons,
animals or objects in range while manoeu-
vring and parking.
You are always responsible for safety, and
must always pay attention to your surround-
ings when parking and manoeuvring. This
applies to the areas behind, in front of and
beside the vehicle. You could otherwise
endanger yourself and others.
The 360° camera will not function or will
function only in a limited manner:
R if the doors are open
R if the exterior mirrors are folded in
R if the boot lid is open
R in heavy rain, snow or fog
R at night or in very dark places
R if the cameras are exposed to very bright
light
R if the area is lit by fluorescent bulbs or LED
lighting (the display may flicker)
R if the camera lenses mist up, e.g. when
driving into a heated garage in winter, caus- ing a rapid change in temperature R
if the camera lenses are dirty or covered
R if the vehicle components in which the
cameras are fitted are damaged. In this
event, have the camera position and setting
checked at a qualified specialist workshop.
Do not use the 360° camera in this case. You could otherwise injure others or damage
objects when parking the vehicle.
Guide lines are always shown at road level.
In trailer mode, the guide lines are shown at
the level of the trailer coupling.
The camera in the rear area is protected by
means of a flap. This flap opens when the
360° camera is activated. Observe the notes
on cleaning (Y page 401). For technical rea-
sons, the flap may remain open briefly after
the 360° camera has been deactivated.
Activation conditions The 360° camera image can be displayed if:
R COMAND Online/Audio 20 is switched on,
see the Digital Owner's Manual
R the 360° camera 360° camera function is switched on
i If the 360° camera is activated at speeds
above 30 km/h, a warning message
appears.
The warning message disappears if:
R the vehicle's speed falls below 30 km/h.
The 360° camera is then activated.
R the message is confirmed with the %

This shows the electric output from the
electric motor, e.g. when driving using the
electric motor or in boost mode.
When the motor is switched on, the display is at :. When driving solely on electricity,
the display fills up from :to; depending
on the power output demanded as a result
of pressing the accelerator pedal.
If the display has reached limit ;, addi-
tional power output can only be provided by
the combustion engine. The combustion
engine starts. If the display is approaching
limit ;and you remove your foot from the
accelerator pedal, the display empties
again. The combustion engine is not
switched on. At low speeds, you can
thereby control the electric drive usage so
that you only drive in electric mode.
R Area =to? (CHARGE):
This shows the recuperated energy which is
stored in the high-voltage battery as elec-
trical energy.
When the display reaches limit ?, the max-
imum recuperative braking power has been exhausted. The conventional brakes are
activated.

tion of the hybrid system in the multifunction
display and the COMAND display
(Y page 273).
