Problems with the seat heating
Problem Possible causes/consequences and
0001 Solutions
The seat heating has
switched off
prematurely or cannot
be switched on. The on-board voltage is too low because too many electrical
consumers are switched on.

Switch off electrical consumers that you do not need, such as
the rear window defroster or interior lighting. Switching the seat ventilation on/off
Activating/deactivating The three blue indicator lamps in the buttons
indicate the ventilation level you have
selected.
i
If the battery voltage is too low, the seat
ventilation may switch off. X
Make sure that the SmartKey is in position
2in the ignition lock.
X To switch on: press button0002repeatedly
until the desired ventilation level is set.
i You can open the front side windows and
the sliding sunroof using the "Convenience
opening" feature (Y page 85). The seat
ventilation of the driver's seat
automatically switches to the highest level.
X To switch off: press button0002repeatedly
until all the indicator lamps go out. Problems with the seat ventilation The seat ventilation has switched off

do the following while driving:
R adjust the driver's seat, head restraint,
steering wheel or mirrors
R fasten the seat belt
There is a risk of an accident.

seat belt before starting the engine. G
WARNING
Children could injure themselves if they
adjust the steering wheel. There is a risk of
injury.
When leaving the vehicle, always take the
SmartKey with you and lock the vehicle. Never
leave children unsupervised in the vehicle. 98

audio system or COMAND; see the

X Press the 0002or0005 button on the
steering wheel to select the Tel menu.
You will see one of the following display
messages in the multifunction display:
R Phone READY or the name of the network
provider: the mobile phone has found a
network and is ready to receive.
R Phone No Service : there is no network
available or the mobile phone is searching
for a network.
Accepting acall If someone calls you whe
nyou are in the
Tel menu, a display message appears in the
multifunction display, for example: Example: incoming call

Press the 0003button on the steering
wheel to accept an incoming call.
You can accept a call even if you are not in
the Tel menu.
Rejecting or ending acall X
Press the 000Abutton on the steering
wheel.
You can end or reject a call even if you are not
in the Tel menu. Dialing an entry from the phone book X
Press the 0002or0005 button on the
steering wheel to select the Tel menu.
X Press the 0003,0004or000B button to
switch to the phone book.
X Press the 0003or0004 button to select the
desired name.
or
X To begin rapid scrolling: press and hold
the 0003 or0004 button for longer than
one second.
Rapid scrolling stops whe nyou release the
button or reach the end of the list.
X If only one telephone number is stored
for a name: press the0003or000B button
to start dialing.
or
X If there is more than one number for a
particular name: press the0003or000B
button to display the numbers.
X Press the 0003or0004 button to select the
number you want to dial.
X Press the 0003or000B button to start
dialing.
or
X To exit the telephone book: press the
000A or0006 button.
Redialing The on-board computer saves the last names
or numbers dialed in the redial memory.
X
Press the 0002or0005 button on the
steering wheel to select the Tel menu.
X Press the 0003button to switch to the
redial memory.
X Press the 0003or0004 button to select the
desired name or number.
X Press the 0003or000B button to start
dialing.

X If you do not want to make a call: press

X Press the 0004or0003 button to select the
Auto. Mirror Folding function.
If the Auto. Mirror Folding function is
activated, the vehicle's exterior mirror is
displayed in orange in the multifunction
display.
X Press the 000Bbutton to save the setting.
If you have switched the Auto. MirrorFolding function on and you fold the exterior
mirrors in using the button on the door
(Y page 101), they will not fold out
automatically. The exterior mirrors can then
only be folded out using the button on the
door.
Restoring the factory settings X
Press the 0002or0005 button on the
steering wheel to select the Sett. menu.
X Press the 0004or0003 button to select the
Factory Setting submenu.
X Press 000Bto confirm.
The Reset All Settings? message
appears.
X Press the 0004or0003 button to select
No or
Yes .
X Press the 000Bbutton to confirm the
selection.
If you have selected Yes , the multifunction
display shows a confirmation message.
For safety reasons, the Day Lights function
in the Lights submenu is only reset if the
vehicle is stationary. AMG menu in AMG vehicles

Press 0002or0005 on the steering wheel
to select the AMG menu. 0002

0003 Gear indicator
0022 Upshift indicator
0021 Engine oil temperature
001F Coolant temperature
Upshift indicator UP 0022
indicates that the
engine has reached the overrevving range
when in the manual gearshift program.
Upshift indicator UP 0022
fades out other
messages until you have shifted up.
If the engine oil temperature is below 176 ‡
(80 †) the oil temperature is shown in blue.
Avoid driving at full engine output during this
time.
SETUP SETUP shows the drive program, the ESP
®
(Electronic Stability Program) mode and the
SPORT handling mode.
X Press 0002or0005 on the steering wheel
to select the AMG menu.
X Press the 0003button repeatedly until
SETUP is displayed. 0002
