ACCESSORY mode and the driver’s door is opened
while the lights are turned on

→Close the moon roof.
Indicates that the windows are not fully closed (with the
power switch off, and the driver’s door open)

→Close all the windows.

Indicates that the windows and the moon roof are not
fully closed (with the power switch off, and the driver’s
door open)
A buzzer also sounds.
→Close all the windows and the moon roof.
Indicates a malfunction in the brake override system
A buzzer also sounds.
→Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus
dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional.
Indicates that engine oil level is low
A buzzer also sounds.
→Check the level of engine oil, and add if necessary.
Indicates that the hybrid system has overheated
This message may be displayed when driving under
severe operating conditions. (For example, when driv-
ing up a long steep hill.)
A buzzer also sounds.

■Doors
Use the mechanical key (→P. 131) in
order to perform the following oper-
ations:
Locks all the doors
Closes the windows and moon
roof (turn and hold)

Turn the mechanical key clockwise
to open.
If the electronic key does not operate properly
If communication between the electronic key and vehicle is interrupted (→P.
151) or the electronic key cannot be used because the battery is depleted, the
smart entry & start system and wireless remote control cannot be used. In
such cases, the doors and trunk can be opened and the hybrid system can be
started by following the procedure below.

■Stopping the hybrid system
Shift the shift lever to P and press the power switch as you normally do when stopping the
hybrid system.
■Replacing the key battery
As the above procedure is a temporary measure, it is recommended that the electronic
key battery be replaced immediately when the battery is depleted. (→P. 4 7 1 )
■Alarm (if equipped)
Using the mechanical key to lock the doors will not set the alarm system.
If a door is unlocked using the mechanical key when the alarm system is set, the alarm
may be triggered.
■Changing power switch modes
Release the brake pedal and press the power switch in step above.
The hybrid system does not start and modes will be changed each time the switch is
pressed. (→P. 2 1 0 )
■When the electronic key does not work properly
●Make sure that the smart entry & start system has not been deactivated in the customi-
zation setting. If it is off, turn the function on.

●Check if battery-saving mode is set. If it is set, cancel the function. (→P. 1 5 0 )
CAUTION
■When using the mechanical key and operating the power windows and moon roof
Operate the power window or moon roof after checking to make sure that there is no
possibility of any passenger having any of their body parts caught in the window or
moon roof. Also, do not allow children to operate the mechanical key. It is possible for
children and other passengers to get caught in power window and moon roof.

●Is the window lock switch pressed?
The power window except for the one at the driver’s seat cannot be operated
if the window lock switch is pressed. (→P. 1 8 4 )
●The auto power off function will be operated if the vehicle is left in ACCES-
SORY or ON mode (the hybrid system is not operating) for a period of time.
(→P. 211)
●The seat belt reminder light is flashing
Are the driver and the front passenger wearing the seat belts? (→P. 505)
●The parking brake indicator is on
Is the parking brake released? (→P. 2 2 4 )
Depending on the situation, other types of warning buzzer may also sound.
(→P. 503, 509)
●Did anyone inside the vehicle open a door or anything move inside the vehicle
during setting the alarm?
The sensor detects them and the alarm sounds. (→P. 9 6 )
To stop the alarm, turn the power switch to ON mode or start the hybrid system.The windows do not open or close by operating the power window
switches
The power switch is turned off automatically
A warning buzzer sounds during driving
An alarm is activated and the horn sounds (if equipped)
