Trunk unlock (3)
Non-powered trunk.
1. Press the trunk unlock button formore than 1 second.
2. The hazard warning light will blink twice to indicate that the trunk is
unlocked.
✽✽ NOTICE
After unlocking the trunk, the trunk will lock automatically unless
it is opened within 30 seconds.
Once the trunk is opened and then closed, the trunk will lock auto-
matically.
The word "HOLD" is written on the button to inform you that you
must press and hold the button.
Power trunk
1. Press the trunk unlock button for more than 1 second.
2. The hazard warning light will blink and chime will sound twice to indi-
cate the trunk is unlocked andopened.
✽✽ NOTICE
Once the trunk is opened and then closed, the trunk will lock auto-
matically.
The word "HOLD" is written on the button to inform you that you
must press and hold the button.
Alarm (4)
1. Press the alarm button for more than 1 second.
2. The horn will sound and hazard warning light will sound for 27 sec-
onds.
You can activate or deactivate the
Alarm function in the vehicle. Referto "User setting" in this section. Restrictions in handling keys
When leaving keys with parking lot
and valet attendants, the following pro-
cedures will ensure that your vehicle’s
trunk and glove box compartment can
not be opened in your absence.
To activate the trunk lock system so
that the trunk can only be opened
with the mechanical key, perform the
following:
1. Press and hold the release button
and remove the mechanical key
from the smart key.

Theft-alarm stage
The alarm will be activated if any of
the following occurs while the system
is armed.
A door is opened without using thesmart key.
The trunk is opened without using the smart key.
The engine hood is opened.
The horn will sound and the hazard
warning lights will blink continuously
for approximately 27 seconds. To turn
off the system, unlock the doors with
the smart key. Opening the trunk with the alarm armed (if equipped)
When the alarm is armed, the alarm
will not sound if the trunk lid is
opened with the smart key.
Once the trunk is opened and then
closed, the trunk will lock automatical-
ly and the system will be armed again.
Also, if any of the doors or hood is
opened while the trunk lid is opened
and the alarm armed, the alarm willsound.
Disarmed stage
The system will be disarmed when
the doors are unlocked with the
smart key.
After depressing the unlock button,
the hazard warning lights will blinktwice to indicate that the system is
disarmed.
After depressing the unlock button, if
any door (or trunk) is not opened
within 30 seconds, the system will be
rearmed.

NOTICE
Avoid trying to start the engine while the alarm is activated. The
vehicle starter motor is disabled
during the theft-alarm stage.
If the system is not disarmed with
the transmitter, insert the key into
the ignition switch, turn the ignition
switch to the ON position and wait
for 30 seconds. Then the system will
be disarmed. (except China)

ized Kia dealer.

To turn the heated steering wheel off,
press the button once again. The
indicator on the button will turn off.
It will turn off automatically approxi-
mately 30 minutes after the heated
steering wheel is turned on.Horn
To sound the horn, press the horn
symbols on your steering wheel.
Check the horn regularly to be sure it
operates properly.

NOTICE
To sound the horn, press the area
indicated by the horn symbol on
your steering wheel (see illustra-
tion). The horn will operate only
when this area is pressed.

Do not strike the horn severely to operate it, or hit it with yourfist. Do not press on the hornwith a sharp-pointed object.

Do not install any grip to oper-ate the steering wheel. Thiscauses damage to the heated steering wheel system.

Non-operational conditions of parking assist system
Parking assist system may notoperate normally when:
1. Moisture is frozen to the sensor. (It will operate normally when mois-
ture melts.)
2. Sensor is covered with foreign matter, such as snow or water, or
the sensor cover is blocked. (It will
operate normally when the materi-
al is removed or the sensor is no
longer blocked.)
3. Sensor is stained with foreign mat- ter such as snow or water.
(Sensing range will return to nor-
mal when removed.)
4.The parking assist button is off.
There is a possibility of parking assist system malfunction when:
1. Driving on uneven road surfaces such as unpaved roads, gravel,
bumps, or gradient.
2. Objects generating excessive noise such as vehicle horns, loud motor-
cycle engines, or truck air brakes
can interfere with the sensor.
3. Heavy rain or water spray.
4. Wireless transmitters or mobile phones present near the sensor.
5. Sensor is covered with snow.
Detecting range may decrease when:
1. Outside air temperature is extremely hot or cold.
2. Undetectable objects smaller than 1 m and narrower than 14 cm in
diameter.
The following objects may not be
recognized by the sensor:
1. Sharp or slim objects such as ropes, chains or small poles.
2. Objects, which tend to absorb sen- sor frequency such as clothes,
spongy material or snow.
