Charging System
Warning Light
This warning light illuminates:
Once you set the ignition switch or Engine Start/Stop Button to the ON position.
- It remains on until the engine isstarted.
When there is a malfunction with either the alternator or electrical charging system. If there is a malfunction with either the
alternator or electrical charging system:
1. Drive carefully to the nearest safe
location and stop your vehicle.
2. Turn the engine off and check the alternator drive belt for looseness
or breakage.
If the belt is adjusted properly,
there may be a problem in the
electrical charging system.
In this case, we recommend that
you have the vehicle inspected by
an authorized Kia dealer as soon
as possible.
Engine Coolant Temperature Warning Light
This warning light illuminates:
When the engine coolant tempera- ture is above 120°C (248°F). This
means that the engine is overheat-
ed and may be damaged.
If your vehicle is overheated, refer
to “Overheating” in chapter 6.
CAUTION - Engine Overheating
Do not continue driving with the
engine overheated. Otherwiseengine may be damaged.

Engine Oil PressureWarning Light
This warning light illuminates:
Once you set the ignition switch or Engine Start/Stop Button to the ON position.
- It remains on until the engine isstarted.
When the engine oil pressure is low.
If the engine oil pressure is low:
1.Drive carefully to the nearest safe location and stop your vehicle.
2.Turn the engine off and check the engine oil level (For more details,
refer to “Engine Oil” in section 7). If
the level is low, add oil as required.
If the warning light remains on after
adding oil or if oil is not available,
we recommend that you have the
vehicle inspected by an authorized
Kia dealer as soon as possible.
Low Fuel Level Warning
Light
This warning light illuminates:
When the fuel tank is nearly empty.
If the fuel tank is nearly empty:
Add fuel as soon as possible.
CAUTION - Engine Oil Pressure
Warning Light

If the engine does not stop immediately after the EngineOil Pressure Warning Light isilluminated, severe damage could result.
If the warning light stays onwhile the engine is running, itindicates that there may beserious engine damage or malfunction. In this case,
1. Stop the vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so.
2. Turn off the engine and check the oil level. If the oillevel is low, fill the engineoil to the proper level.
3. Start the engine again. If the warning light stays on afterthe engine is started, turnthe engine off immediately.In this case, we recommend that you have the vehicleinspected by an authorizedKia dealer.

blinking for approximately 60 seconds
or repeats blinking and off at the
intervals of approximately 3 seconds:

WARNING - Safe Stopping
The TPMS cannot alert you to severe and sudden tire damage
caused by external factors.
If you notice any vehicle insta- bility, immediately take your
foot off the accelerator pedal,
apply the brakes gradually with
light force, and slowly move to
a safe position off the road.

The parking assist system assists
the driver during movement of the
vehicle by chiming if any object issensed within the distance of 60 cm(24 in.) in front and 100 cm (39 in.)
behind the vehicle.This system is a supplemental sys-tem and it is not intended to nor does
it replace the need for extreme care
and attention of the driver.
The sensing range and objects
detectable by the sensors are limit-
ed. Whenever moving pay as muchattention to what is in front and
behind of you as you would in a vehi-
cle without a parking assist system.
Operation of the parking assist system
Operating condition
This system activates when the
parking assist button is pressed
with the ignition switch ON.
The parking assist button turns on automatically and activates the
parking assist system when you
shift the gear to the R (Reverse)
position. It will turn off automatical-
ly when you shift out of R (Reverse)
and drive above 20 km/h.
PARKING ASSIST SYSTEM

supplementary function. The
driver must check the front and
rear view. The operational func-tion of the parking assist system
can be affected by many factors
and conditions of the surround-
